Short answer: The REDMAGIC 10 Air is the clearest documented alternative to the expected OnePlus Ace 7 for gaming. TechRadar’s 2026 ranking lists it as a budget gaming phone with a 6.8-inch display, Snapdragon 8-series processor, 6,000mAh battery and a starting price of $549/£439. However, the Ace 7 itself is not officially confirmed in the OnePlus material available for this comparison. Its reported Indian price of ₹39,990 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 are expectations, not confirmed specifications.
That uncertainty changes how you should buy. Use the confirmed OnePlus Ace specifications as a performance and charging reference, compare the REDMAGIC 10 Air in your own currency and region, and wait for an official Ace 7 specification sheet before treating any direct price or chipset comparison as final.
What is actually known about the OnePlus Ace 7?
The first decision is whether you are comparing a shipping phone with a confirmed product. In the OnePlus pages reviewed for this guide, there is no official Ace 7 product page or complete Ace 7 specification sheet. Smartprix describes the model as upcoming and reports an expected Indian price of ₹39,990, together with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Those details should be treated as a forecast until OnePlus publishes them.

| Item | What is documented | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| OnePlus Ace 7 price | ₹39,990 expected in India, according to Smartprix | Not an official price; region, tax and launch offers could change it |
| OnePlus Ace 7 processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 reported by Smartprix | Expected, not confirmed by the official OnePlus material reviewed |
| OnePlus Ace starting price | ¥2,499 on OnePlus’s official Ace page | Confirmed figure for the Ace reference model; it is not an Ace 7 price |
| OnePlus Ace processor | Custom Dimensity 8100-MAX | Confirmed reference specification |
| OnePlus Ace display | 120Hz gaming display | Confirmed reference specification; Ace 7’s refresh rate is not stated |
| OnePlus Ace charging | 150W charging | Confirmed reference specification; Ace 7’s charging rate is not stated |
| OnePlus Ace memory and storage | 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5; up to 512GB UFS 3.1 | Reference configuration, not a confirmed Ace 7 configuration |
| OnePlus Ace software and battery | Android 12; approximately 4,500mAh-equivalent dual-cell battery | Reference information; current Ace 7 software and battery details are not stated |
OnePlus describes the reference model’s charging system with the phrase “长寿版 150W 超级闪充,” which refers to its long-life 150W fast-charging system. That marketing claim belongs to the documented Ace model and should not automatically be assigned to the Ace 7.
The best documented alternative: REDMAGIC 10 Air
For a reader who wants a gaming-first phone rather than a rumored specification sheet, the REDMAGIC 10 Air is the strongest sourced choice. TechRadar’s 2026 gaming-phone ranking calls it “The best budget gaming phone” and lists a 6.8-inch display, a Snapdragon 8-series processor, a 6,000mAh battery and a starting price of $549/£439 for the reviewed configuration.
That gives the REDMAGIC 10 Air three useful advantages in the decision process: its gaming positioning is explicit, its battery figure is published, and its price is available in two currencies. The listing does not establish that its processor is the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 reported for the expected Ace 7. REDMAGIC’s official comparison material identifies Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 devices in its comparison content and shows REDMAGIC OS 11.5 based on Android 16, but that comparison page should not be read as confirmation of an Ace 7-equivalent chipset in every REDMAGIC model.

The table shows why the REDMAGIC 10 Air is a defensible alternative but not a proven specification match. It has a published battery and price, while several of the most important Ace 7 details remain unconfirmed. A buyer who needs a phone now can make a decision from documented information; a buyer who specifically wants the rumored Ace 7 processor should wait for OnePlus to publish the product.
How the phones differ for real gaming use
Sustained performance matters more than a chipset name
A processor label tells you about the platform, not how long a phone can maintain performance during a demanding game. Long sessions are affected by heat dissipation, software power limits, room temperature, screen brightness and the game’s frame-rate settings. The available Ace 7 information does not include a sustained-performance test, thermal design or frame-rate result, so no reliable claim can be made that it will outperform the REDMAGIC 10 Air.

When the Ace 7 launches, compare the same game, graphics preset and frame-rate target on both phones. Record performance after a short warm-up and again after a longer session. Check whether brightness drops, the frame rate fluctuates or the chassis becomes uncomfortable to hold. A higher peak benchmark is less useful if the phone throttles quickly.
Display size and refresh rate
The REDMAGIC 10 Air’s documented 6.8-inch display gives it a large viewing area for touch controls and game interfaces. The reference OnePlus Ace has a 120Hz gaming display, but the Ace 7 refresh rate is not confirmed. Do not assume that a newer model has a higher rate: verify the official specification sheet and confirm which games can actually use the highest setting.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
A larger panel can improve visibility, but it also affects one-handed comfort, pocketability and power use. Compare display brightness, touch-sampling behavior and outdoor readability in addition to refresh rate. None of those Ace 7 values is established in the available material.
Battery endurance and charging
TechRadar lists a 6,000mAh battery for the REDMAGIC 10 Air. The reference OnePlus Ace is listed at approximately 4,500mAh equivalent and supports 150W charging. Ace 7 battery capacity and charging speed are not confirmed, so it is impossible to say whether it will last longer or recharge faster than the REDMAGIC model.
Battery capacity is only one part of endurance. A high-refresh display, cellular signal strength, game efficiency and thermal controls all change runtime. For a fair test, use the same brightness, network connection and game settings. If you play in short bursts, charging speed may matter more than capacity; if you play away from a charger, the larger published REDMAGIC battery is the more concrete advantage.

Gaming controls, cooling and ergonomics
Gaming phones can differ substantially in controls and cooling, but the cited material does not provide a verified list of REDMAGIC 10 Air triggers, cooling hardware or accessory compatibility, nor does it provide those details for Ace 7. Check the manufacturer’s regional product page before buying if shoulder controls, a built-in fan, a vapor chamber or a specific cooler connection is essential to you.
Recommended Free Tools
Also check the position of USB ports, speakers and the charging connector while the phone is held horizontally. A case can interfere with a cooler or trigger area. If you plan to use a phone cooler during sustained play, verify the cooler’s contact area, clamp width and case clearance for the exact model.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the REDMAGIC 10 Air if you need a documented gaming phone now
- You want a gaming-focused model with a published $549/£439 starting price for the reviewed configuration.
- A 6,000mAh battery and 6.8-inch display fit your priorities.
- You prefer a phone whose gaming positioning is explicitly covered in a current 2026 ranking.
- You are comfortable checking software, warranty and local network compatibility before ordering.
The REDMAGIC 10 Air is the safer evidence-based purchase because its key headline specifications and price are published. It is not automatically the fastest phone in every game, and the available sources do not establish a direct Ace 7 benchmark match.
Wait for official Ace 7 information if the rumored platform is the reason you are interested
- You specifically want the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 reported by Smartprix.
- You need an Indian price and local warranty rather than a dollar or pound listing.
- You are attracted to the Ace family’s documented 150W charging approach but want confirmation that Ace 7 retains it.
- You can delay your purchase until OnePlus publishes the final display, battery, software, storage and regional-sales details.
Waiting is rational because the ₹39,990 figure and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 report may change. Until OnePlus confirms them, a direct value comparison with a $549/£439 phone is not meaningful.
Use the existing OnePlus Ace only as a reference point
The documented OnePlus Ace helps explain what the family has offered: a ¥2,499 starting price, Dimensity 8100-MAX, 120Hz display, 150W charging, LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage. It is useful for understanding the product line’s emphasis on charging and gaming, but it is not proof of Ace 7 hardware, software or availability.

A practical comparison checklist before you buy
- Confirm the exact model and region. Match the phone’s model number to the seller’s warranty terms, cellular-band support and included charger. Do not assume that a China-market or imported configuration has the same software, accessories or service coverage as a local version.
- Record the price date and currency. The REDMAGIC figure is TechRadar’s 2026 starting price for the reviewed configuration: $549/£439. The Ace 7 figure is an expected ₹39,990 in India. Include tax, shipping, import charges and launch promotions before deciding which is cheaper.
- Verify the processor from an official specification page. Treat a retailer or preliminary report as provisional until the manufacturer confirms the chipset. This is particularly important for Ace 7 because the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 report is not confirmed by the official OnePlus material reviewed.
- Check memory and storage configuration. The reference Ace is available with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 and up to 512GB UFS 3.1. Confirm the actual REDMAGIC and Ace 7 configuration you are buying; storage and memory can vary by region.
- Compare the complete display specification. Check refresh rate, resolution, brightness, touch response and whether the game supports the advertised mode. The reference Ace’s 120Hz rate should not be substituted for an unconfirmed Ace 7 value.
- Check battery and charging equipment. A 6,000mAh REDMAGIC battery is documented, while Ace 7’s capacity is not. Confirm charger wattage, charging protocol, cable requirements and whether the local package includes the appropriate adapter.
- Ask how software updates are handled. REDMAGIC’s comparison page shows REDMAGIC OS 11.5 based on Android 16. Ace 7 software support and update policy are not stated in the available material, so obtain that information for your region before purchase.
- Check gaming accessories separately. Confirm compatibility for a case, external cooler, controller and screen protector using the exact model and dimensions. Do not buy Ace 7 accessories based on a rumor or on the dimensions of an older Ace model.
- Review return and warranty coverage. Gaming phones can be imported or sold through regional distributors. Make sure the seller covers battery, display and charging faults and that you know where repairs are performed.
Common mistakes when comparing Ace 7 alternatives
Comparing an expected price with a confirmed price
₹39,990 is an expected Indian price, not a confirmed launch price. $549/£439 is a published REDMAGIC 10 Air starting price for the configuration reviewed by TechRadar in 2026. These figures use different currencies and markets. Compare local checkout totals, not the printed numbers alone.
Assuming a family feature carries over to the next model
The reference Ace’s 150W charging, 120Hz display and approximately 4,500mAh-equivalent battery are confirmed for that model. They do not establish Ace 7’s charging, display or battery. Wait for an Ace 7 specification page before ordering chargers, cases or screen protectors.
Treating a comparison page as a complete product specification
REDMAGIC’s official comparison page provides useful software context, including REDMAGIC OS 11.5 based on Android 16, and identifies Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 devices in its comparison material. It does not by itself establish every internal component of the REDMAGIC 10 Air or prove that it uses the same chipset as the expected Ace 7.
Choosing on peak performance alone
Gaming quality also depends on sustained thermals, battery drain, touch response, controls, software behavior and support in your country. A phone with a lower headline price can become poor value if the imported version lacks warranty coverage or the required charger.
Frequently needed answers before purchase
Is the OnePlus Ace 7 officially confirmed?
Not in the OnePlus material available for this comparison. Smartprix reports it as upcoming with an expected ₹39,990 Indian price and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but those details remain unconfirmed.

Is the REDMAGIC 10 Air cheaper than the Ace 7?
There is no reliable yes-or-no answer yet because the prices are published for different currencies and markets, and the Ace 7 figure is only an expectation. Compare final regional prices after tax and shipping when Ace 7 officially launches.
Does the REDMAGIC 10 Air have the same processor as Ace 7?
The available material does not prove that. TechRadar identifies a Snapdragon 8-series processor for the REDMAGIC 10 Air, while Smartprix reports Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Ace 7. A direct match requires official model-specific specifications.
Which has the larger documented battery?
The REDMAGIC 10 Air has the larger published figure at 6,000mAh. Ace 7’s battery is not stated; the approximately 4,500mAh-equivalent figure belongs to the reference OnePlus Ace.
Should you buy Ace 7 accessories now?
No. Dimensions, camera placement, port locations and regional packaging are not confirmed. Wait for official Ace 7 measurements and compatibility information.
