The higher-price comparison is with the OnePlus 15’s China launch prices reported by Gizmochina: CNY 3,999 for 12GB/256GB and CNY 4,299 for 12GB/512GB. Comparing those two matching tiers, the OnePlus 16 costs CNY 2,000 more at 12GB/256GB and CNY 2,500 more at 12GB/512GB. These are China launch prices; converting them to another currency does not establish an international retail price.

Does the OnePlus 16 have a 185Hz display?
Yes, in selected games. Android Authority reports OnePlus’s stated 165Hz system-wide refresh rate, with the BOE X4 panel reaching 185Hz in supported games. The 185Hz figure is therefore a gaming-mode peak, not the ordinary refresh rate for every app or the interface.

Gadgets 360’s pre-launch coverage named Peace Elite, Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future, and Naruto Mobile among titles expected to support native 185-fps operation with participating publishers. Game support can change, so those names should not be treated as a current compatibility list.
OnePlus also claimed its display tuning keeps power draw close to that of standard 120Hz displays. That is a company claim relayed by Android Authority, not an independently measured result. The publication also reports a display P4 chip, eye-care certification, and brightness tuning down to 1 nit as company-stated features.

The launch-day coverage cited here does not announce a release outside China. Android Authority’s pre-launch report said the phone would not be released in the US or EU, but the available launch-day information does not establish distribution in any other market. International pricing, warranty terms, carrier-band compatibility, and software-region behavior are not confirmed by these reports.

Android Authority also reports OnePlus’s five-year battery-health design goal. It is a stated design target, not evidence of independently tested battery longevity. The 9,000mAh capacity likewise describes battery size; it does not establish how long the phone lasts in real-world use.
What to check before buying
For buyers outside China, a China price or store listing alone does not confirm that a particular model will work or be supported locally. Before purchasing, verify the seller and exact variant, supported carrier bands, warranty coverage, return terms, and software-region behavior. For a performance comparison, distinguish the 165Hz system-wide rate from the 185Hz mode, and look for independent battery-life and camera testing rather than treating specifications as measured outcomes.
