The OnePlus 15 has the newer listed chipset and software, a larger stated battery, and a dedicated optical telephoto camera. The OnePlus 13R is a separate, lower-tier option with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 6,000 mAh typical battery. There is no reliable price gap to quote here: the OnePlus 15’s US page shows two different prices, and a matching current 13R price was not established. Compare live prices for the same country, storage, and condition before deciding.
OnePlus 13R vs OnePlus 15: specification comparison
The figures below are manufacturer specifications from OnePlus’s North American pages. They describe listed hardware and software, not independently measured performance or battery life.
| Specification | OnePlus 13R | OnePlus 15 |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 |
| Software listed | OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 | OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 |
| Typical battery capacity | 6,000 mAh | 7,300 mAh, dual-cell |
| Display information available | Product page highlights a 1.5K 120 Hz ProXDR display | 6.78-inch, 2772 × 1272; adaptive 1–120 Hz, up to 165 Hz in gaming |
| Rear-camera information available | Product page highlights a Sony LYT-700 50 MP main sensor | Three 50 MP cameras: main, ultra-wide, and telephoto; 3.5× optical zoom |
| Charging information available | OnePlus announced 55 W in North America and 80 W in other markets | US specifications list 80 W SUPERVOOC and 50 W AIRVOOC |
The OnePlus 15’s 165 Hz figure is a gaming maximum; its listed adaptive refresh range is 1–120 Hz. The 13R page highlights its display, but the available specifications do not establish a complete, like-for-like display comparison. See OnePlus 13R specifications and OnePlus 15 specifications.
What the listed differences mean in practice
Chipset and software generation
The OnePlus 15 has the newer named platform and software generation on the listed US specifications. That establishes a difference in the specifications, not a measured speed advantage or a longer future-support period. No independent head-to-head benchmark was established.

Battery capacity
The OnePlus 15 lists 7,300 mAh typical capacity, compared with 6,000 mAh typical for the 13R. Capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts between charges; comparable real-world runtime testing is not available here. OnePlus describes the 15’s battery as a “7,300mAh Silicon NanoStack battery” and says it lets users “stream, shoot, and play without hunting for outlets.” That is the manufacturer’s promotional wording, not independent battery-life evidence.
Cameras
The 15’s listed rear system includes a dedicated 3.5× optical telephoto camera alongside main and ultra-wide cameras. The 13R product page highlights a 50 MP Sony LYT-700 main sensor. These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos.

Charging and region
Charging figures are not uniform across markets. OnePlus’s 13R launch announcement gives 55 W for North America and 80 W for other markets, while the OnePlus 15 US specifications list 80 W SUPERVOOC wired and 50 W AIRVOOC wireless charging. Check the specifications for the exact regional model before comparing charging capability. See OnePlus’s 13R launch announcement.
What is the OnePlus 13R vs OnePlus 15 price difference?
A trustworthy current price difference cannot be calculated from the available US listings. The OnePlus 15 page displays $899.99 in one section and “From $999.99” in another, while a current, directly comparable OnePlus 13R price was not established. Those conflicting 15 figures are not a sound basis for quoting a premium. Prices also vary by country, storage configuration, seller, promotion, and date. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which one should you buy?
- Consider the OnePlus 15 if its newer listed platform and software, larger stated battery, or dedicated optical telephoto camera matter enough to justify the verified price difference in your market.
- Consider the OnePlus 13R if it is substantially cheaper where you live and you do not need those specific differences.
This is a specification-based decision guide, not a conclusion from hands-on testing. Neither the listed battery capacities nor camera hardware alone proves a particular real-world advantage.
