One Wish Willow is worth prioritizing if you want collection progress, elimination-based rewards, and a defensive knockback effect. It is not a universal best pick: removing it reveals you on the map, its strongest collection ability requires an elimination, and several important numbers remain unpublished. Competitive-mode players cannot use Sprites at all.
What One Wish Willow is
One Wish Willow is the Mythic Obsession Sprite introduced in Fortnite version 42.40 on October 15, 2026. It is part of the Fortnitemares and Obsession collaboration covered in Epic Games’ October 1 announcement. Epic says the event includes Battle Royale, Horde Rush, and Reload content, while its Player Support documentation defines Sprites as “little helpers on the battlefield” that can be found and equipped during a match to grant a special Sprite Power ability.
That distinction matters: One Wish Willow is an in-match power item, not a permanent character skin. You acquire or trade for it during eligible matches, equip it, and manage the risk associated with its power. Epic also states that Sprites are not available in competitive modes, so this item cannot be used in competitive or ranked-focused playlists where Sprite powers are disabled.

Yes. Sprite Checklist identifies One Wish Willow as the Obsession Sprite and records it as a Mythic item added in version 42.40 on October 15, 2026. The page reproduces the ability text associated with the item and lists six forms: Standard, Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker, Bounty Hunter, and Trick or Treat.

The six forms make One Wish Willow more relevant to collectors than a single-effect pickup. They are variations of the same Sprite rather than six unrelated items, and several have different progression or acquisition benefits. The Trick or Treat form is documented, but its bonus has not been published on the reference page, so it should not be treated as having a known advantage until Epic provides the details.
What does the One Wish Willow Sprite do?
Epic’s reproduced ability wording is: “Extract enemies’ equipped Sprites upon elimination and push nearby enemies away when damaged. You’ll be marked on the map if you remove it, so be careful!” The in-game directory wording adds that it extracts other players’ equipped Sprites when you eliminate them, pushes everything away when damaged, and becomes upset when removed and marks you on the map.
Elimination extraction
When you eliminate an opponent who has a Sprite equipped, One Wish Willow can extract that opponent’s equipped Sprite. This is the item’s clearest collection advantage. The trigger is tied to an elimination, so simply carrying Willow, damaging an opponent, or exploring a location does not provide the same documented extraction result.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor an aggressive player, the effect creates a reason to pursue opponents who are using Sprites. For a collector, it can turn ordinary eliminations into additional collection opportunities. The available material does not establish whether an extracted Sprite keeps its previous level, what happens when several Sprites are eligible, or whether extraction has a cooldown; those mechanics should be considered unknown rather than assumed.
Knockback when damaged
One Wish Willow pushes nearby enemies away when you are damaged. The directory wording says it pushes “everything away,” while the reproduced ability text specifically describes nearby enemies. In practical terms, the documented purpose is defensive space creation after you take damage: an opponent close enough to be affected may be forced away, giving you room to reposition, heal, reload, or break line of sight.
Epic and the reference page do not publish the push distance, affected-area size, cooldown, activation delay, or level scaling. Do not plan around a guaranteed distance or a known frequency. Treat the knockback as a useful defensive trigger whose exact reliability depends on values that have not been disclosed.

The removal mark
Removing One Wish Willow marks you on the map. That drawback is explicit and is the main opportunity cost of the item. Swapping away from Willow for another Sprite, discarding it, or otherwise triggering the game’s removal state can expose your location, but the available wording does not define every action that counts as “remove.”

The duration of the map marker, how frequently it updates, whether opponents receive a special notification, and whether the mark persists after an elimination are not published. Because those details are unknown, remove Willow only when the benefit of changing powers is more valuable than the information you may give nearby opponents.
One Wish Willow’s six forms
The following bonuses are the documented differences between the listed forms. “Standard” is the baseline form; the reference material does not assign it an additional modifier.
| Form | Documented bonus or behavior | What it means for a player |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Base One Wish Willow effects | Provides elimination extraction and damage-triggered pushback without a separately published variant bonus. |
| Gold | 3× bonus Sprite XP from eliminations | Best documented form for players prioritizing Sprite progression through eliminations. The multiplier is specifically tied to bonus Sprite XP from eliminations. |
| Cheat Master | All Cheat Code inputs count as correct | Improves the reliability of Cheat Code interactions. The source does not state how many inputs are required or what the resulting reward is. |
| Loot Hacker | Increases the chance of spawning items from Loot Hacks | Favors players who actively use Loot Hacks. The size of the chance increase is not published. |
| Bounty Hunter | Adds a chance to find Sprites when eliminating opponents and gains Sprite XP only from eliminations | Strongly favors elimination-focused collection. Its XP condition is narrower than a general progression bonus. |
| Trick or Treat | Bonus not published on the reference page | Do not assign it a combat, loot, or progression advantage until an authoritative description is available. |
Gold and Bounty Hunter are the most directly aligned with elimination-driven play, but they serve different goals. Gold accelerates bonus Sprite XP from eliminations; Bounty Hunter adds a chance to find Sprites and restricts its Sprite XP gains to eliminations. Loot Hacker and Cheat Master are more dependent on the player choosing the corresponding activity. The absence of a published Trick or Treat bonus makes that form difficult to evaluate objectively.
How do I get One Wish Willow?
Current guides report several possible routes:
- Pumpkin chests
- Rare chests
- Cheat Codes
- Boss rewards
- Bounty Hunter eliminations
- Trading with another player
Those routes describe reported ways to encounter the item, not guaranteed sources. The current reference directory names no dedicated spawn area for One Wish Willow. It also does not publish a reliable Season 4 per-Sprite drop rate. Any displayed 0% values in a directory are identified as placeholders, not evidence that the Sprite cannot spawn.

One widely circulated guide acknowledges that exact statistics are unavailable, so its speculative range should not be repeated as a measured drop rate. The practical result is that you should search eligible loot and reward sources without assuming a chest, boss, or location will produce Willow on a fixed schedule. Trading can bypass a random encounter, but it depends on another player having the item and being willing to exchange it.

What happens if I remove One Wish Willow?
The game marks you on the map when you remove it. This is a deliberate risk mechanic: Willow gives you useful powers while equipped, but abandoning it can reveal your position. The source material does not publish the marker’s duration or exact visibility rules, so there is no supported number of seconds to wait before considering yourself hidden again.
Use the removal decision as a tactical trade-off:
- Keep Willow when you expect eliminations, want to extract enemy Sprites, or need the damage-triggered pushback.
- Remove Willow only when another available power solves a more urgent problem than the exposure risk.
- Avoid removing it in a predictable location when opponents could immediately exploit the map information.
- Do not assume a quick swap is harmless. The mark is the documented cost of removal, regardless of whether the replacement power looks stronger on paper.
Because the duration, update behavior, and persistence of the marker are unpublished, leave a margin for uncertainty. The ability text supports the existence of the mark, but not a precise escape procedure.
How One Wish Willow compares with other Fortnitemares Sprites
No authoritative source in the available material publishes a complete table of every Fortnitemares Sprite, their drop rates, and their fully scaled effects. That means an objective “best Sprite” ranking would overstate the evidence. Instead, compare Willow with each candidate using the same decision axes.
| Comparison axis | Question to ask | One Wish Willow’s documented position |
|---|---|---|
| Primary match effect | Does the Sprite improve combat, discovery, mobility, survival, or loot? | Willow combines elimination-based collection with defensive space creation after damage. |
| Trigger and reliability | Does it activate on an elimination, damage, exploration, or a player-controlled action? | Its two documented triggers are taking damage for the push and eliminating an opponent for Sprite extraction. |
| Collection value | Can it find or extract other Sprites, and do its variants improve collecting? | Yes. Extraction on elimination is its defining collection benefit; Bounty Hunter also adds a chance to find Sprites after eliminations. |
| Risk or opportunity cost | What do you give up by equipping or removing it? | Removing Willow marks you on the map, and extraction requires winning an elimination. |
| Mode and season context | Is the Sprite usable in the intended playlist, and does collection progress persist? | Sprites are unavailable in competitive modes. Epic says collected Sprites continue into a Sprite Garden and that a new generation is added in the next season. |
Against a combat-focused Sprite
A Sprite whose primary benefit is direct damage, accuracy, or another always-available combat improvement may be more consistent for a player who does not expect frequent eliminations. Willow’s strongest offensive-adjacent value is indirect: you must eliminate an opponent to extract an equipped Sprite, while the pushback occurs only after damage. If the alternative provides a reliable combat effect without a removal mark, it may be the safer choice for a cautious fight.
Against a discovery or loot Sprite
Loot-oriented Sprites may produce value without winning a fight. Willow can compete through Bounty Hunter or Loot Hacker forms, but their benefits are conditional: Bounty Hunter depends on eliminations, and Loot Hacker depends on using Loot Hacks. Choose Willow when your route includes those activities; choose the other Sprite when you need dependable loot or discovery while avoiding combat.
Against a mobility or survival Sprite
Mobility and survival effects can solve problems before you take damage. Willow’s pushback is reactive, not a documented movement boost, and the map mark makes a later removal costly. A mobility or survival Sprite is likely the better fit when repositioning, rotation, or avoiding fights matters more than collecting enemy Sprites. This is a role comparison, not a claim that every other Sprite has a known superior statistic.

Is One Wish Willow worth getting over other Fortnitemares Sprites?
Collectors
Yes, it is a strong pick for collectors. The base item has six listed forms, and the elimination effect can extract Sprites equipped by opponents. Gold accelerates bonus Sprite XP from eliminations, while Bounty Hunter adds a chance to find Sprites when eliminating opponents. Those benefits directly support collection growth, provided you can secure eliminations.

Aggressive players
Willow is a strong situational choice for aggressive players. Its extraction trigger rewards successful fights, and its damage trigger can push nearby enemies away when an engagement becomes crowded. The limitation is that the item does not turn a lost fight into a win automatically: extraction still requires an elimination, and the exact push distance and cooldown are not published.
Players who swap abilities often
Willow is weaker for players who frequently replace their equipped power. Every removal carries the documented map-mark risk, and the marker’s duration and behavior are unknown. A Sprite that you can change freely without revealing your location may fit this play style better.
Cautious players
Consider another Sprite if your plan is to avoid damage and avoid eliminations. Willow’s two headline interactions are tied to those events, while its removal penalty can expose a careful player who decides to change abilities late in a match. It becomes more attractive when you are comfortable keeping it equipped for a long period rather than treating it as a temporary slot.
Competitive or ranked-focused players
Do not pursue Willow for competitive or ranked-focused modes. Epic’s Player Support statement is unambiguous: Sprites are not available for competitive modes. The item’s value applies to eligible non-competitive playlists such as the Fortnitemares content in Battle Royale, Horde Rush, and Reload, subject to the mode’s current rules.
Season and collection context
Epic says collected Sprites continue into a Sprite Garden and that a new generation is added in the next season. This makes Willow relevant beyond a single match: collecting its forms can contribute to a longer-term Sprite collection even when you are not trying to maximize one game’s combat result.

That persistence does not remove the match-level trade-off. The Sprite Garden context supports collection value, but the extraction ability, pushback, and removal mark still apply only through the rules of the match in which Willow is equipped. Keep those two layers separate: collection progress is a long-term reason to seek the item, while the map mark is an immediate tactical cost.
What is still unknown
Several details needed for a numerical tier list have not been published. Treat the following as open mechanics rather than hidden guarantees:
| Unknown | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Per-Sprite drop rate for One Wish Willow | You cannot calculate the expected number of chests, bosses, or matches required to find it. |
| Push distance and affected area | You cannot know whether the knockback reliably breaks close-range pressure or only creates a small gap. |
| Cooldown or internal trigger limit | You cannot assume the push occurs on every damage event. |
| Map-marker duration and update behavior | You cannot assign a safe number of seconds before your location is no longer exposed. |
| Level scaling | You cannot infer how the effect changes at different Sprite levels. |
| Whether extracted Sprites retain their previous level | Collection and progression value may differ depending on how extraction handles an enemy’s level. |
| Complete ranking against every Fortnitemares Sprite | No published comparison establishes an objective best choice across all effects and variants. |
| Trick or Treat’s bonus | Its value cannot be compared fairly with the other five forms yet. |
These gaps do not make Willow unusable; they define how confidently you can optimize it. Use the documented triggers and risks, and avoid guides that convert missing values into precise claims.
A practical decision checklist
- Confirm the playlist. If you are in a competitive mode, Sprites are unavailable and Willow cannot be equipped.
- Identify your objective. Choose Willow for collection growth, elimination rewards, or defensive space creation—not because a complete public ranking calls it the best.
- Estimate your elimination opportunities. Extraction and the Bounty Hunter form depend on eliminations; Gold’s documented XP multiplier also applies to eliminations.
- Check your willingness to keep it equipped. If you expect to swap powers repeatedly, account for the map mark each time Willow is removed.
- Select the form that matches your activity. Gold favors elimination XP, Bounty Hunter favors finding Sprites through eliminations, Loot Hacker favors Loot Hacks, and Cheat Master favors Cheat Code inputs.
- Treat unknown numbers conservatively. Do not rely on an assumed push distance, cooldown, drop rate, marker duration, or level-scaling rule.
- Decide whether the long-term collection is worth the match risk. Epic’s Sprite Garden continuity favors collectors, but it does not cancel the immediate exposure caused by removal.
Bottom line for this Fortnitemares choice
One Wish Willow is the better pickup when your priorities are collecting Sprite forms, turning eliminations into additional Sprite opportunities, and creating space when damaged. Gold and Bounty Hunter are the clearest documented variants for elimination-focused players, while Cheat Master and Loot Hacker reward players who deliberately use their associated systems.
Choose another Fortnitemares Sprite when you need a consistently available combat, mobility, survival, or loot effect; when you rarely secure eliminations; or when revealing your position after a swap is unacceptable. The evidence supports a strong, specialized pick—not a universal ranking over every Sprite.
