Your Once Human character is not deleted when a scenario ends, but a seasonal transition does reset some progress and does not automatically move every item into your next scenario. Eligible inventory goes to Eternaland, where you can select items to bring into a new scenario using Resource Inheritance Points. Other progress and items carry over directly. The exact item list and costs depend on the current scenario, so check its in-game Scenario Description and sign-up screen before leaving.
What a seasonal reset means in Once Human
“Seasonal reset” is shorthand for a transition between scenarios, not a complete wipe of your account. A scenario is themed gameplay on a server; scenarios can differ in map, rules, story, environmental mechanics, phases, and PvE or PvP experience. Phase durations vary, so there is no single universal reset schedule. The development team’s current Console Launch FAQ, published August 20, 2026, is the latest official reference here.
The team’s earlier explanation put the main reassurance plainly: “Your character won’t be deleted.” Character level and Memetics, however, are scenario progression and reset according to the scenario’s rules. Weapon and armor blueprints and several other forms of progression persist. The current scenario’s description and sign-up screen control the specifics.
What resets, carries over, or goes to Eternaland
There are three different outcomes to distinguish: progression that resets, items and data inherited directly, and eligible inventory stored in Eternaland for selective transfer. The current FAQ gives the broad categories; the in-game screen is the authority on a particular item’s eligibility and cost.

| Category | What happens at transition | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Character progression | Character level and Memetics reset according to scenario rules. | Review the scenario’s rules, especially if signing up before the current scenario ends. |
| Direct inheritance | The FAQ names fashions, some character data, most currencies, blueprints, formulas, design layouts, task progress, operation items, and event items and data as inherited without Resource Inheritance Points. | “Most currencies” and “some character data” are not blanket guarantees for every item or scenario. Confirm the exact classification in game. |
| Inventory moved to Eternaland | When leaving for a new scenario, eligible weapons, armor, materials, medicine, Deviations, and calibration blueprints go to Eternaland. | Being in Eternaland does not automatically put an item in your next scenario. |
| Selected transfer from Eternaland | You can use Resource Inheritance Points to bring selected eligible items into a new scenario; costs vary by item. | Use the sign-up/inheritance screen for the eligible list and current costs. |
| Energy Links | They convert to Astral Sand at a certain ratio. | The current FAQ does not state the ratio, so check in game rather than relying on a remembered figure. |
The development team’s “About Seasons and Scenarios” explanation provides more detail on retained progression. It lists character name, cosmetics, friends, Battle Pass and task progress, selected currencies and materials, weapon and armor blueprints and fragments, weapon accessories, mods, food recipes, house blueprints, and furniture formulas. Treat this older list as supporting context, not a substitute for the current scenario-specific screen.
If you plan to rebuild, a retained house blueprint is a layout, not a free reconstruction: you still need to spend building materials in the new scenario.

- FEELIN’ CUTE is the fur-mily party game of determining which animals are the cutest! Think you can figure out which of your friends believes a Tree Frog is more precious than a Fennec Fox? You’re about to!
- DESIGNED FOR 2-8 PLAYERS, ages 6 and up, the card game takes 15 minutes to play, and will leave players feelin' cuter than ever!
- BOTH COMPETITIVE & COOPERATIVE gameplay options mean this family game that adults also enjoy is perfect for animals (or humans) of all kinds!
- CHOOSE your favorite animal paw and place the Cuteness Scale in the center of the table. Draw animal cards and show them around. Decide how its cuteness compares to the last and the other players make their guesses. If no one guesses right, turn over a Blobfish token, and once all three are turned, tally your scores!
- SPARKS HILARIOUS DISCUSSION about the cuteness of animals–and always ends with an emphatic "I want to play again!"
Choose what to do when a scenario ends
You do not have to join a newly launched scenario immediately. The current FAQ describes three broad choices:
- Stay on the current server: Keep playing there; the FAQ says staying does not cost you your progress or supplies.
- Sign up for another scenario or server: Start the new scenario’s progression and use the inheritance process for eligible supplies. You can sign up with friends.
- Exit to Eternaland: Pause and leave the current scenario without immediately committing to another one.
For a completed scenario, the FAQ says its server enters a 14-day rest period and then merges automatically into the matching permanent server. The option shown for your server in game is the practical guide to current availability and timing.

Permanent servers: early signup differs from waiting for the merge
The distinction is timing. The official permanent-server notice dated July 17, 2025 says signup rules are the same as on normal servers: signing up before the current scenario ends resets level and scenario resources, including gear and consumables, under normal signup rules. Players who wait until the scenario ends can have progress preserved when the server merges into a permanent server. The newer FAQ describes the automatic merge after the 14-day rest period. Check the current in-game choices for your server rather than assuming early signup and end-of-scenario merge are equivalent.
Quick Recap
| Choice | Where you continue | Supplies and transfer | Progress outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stay on the current server | Current server | FAQ says supplies remain available. | Continue playing there; no new-scenario transition is required. |
| Move to a new scenario | Chosen scenario/server | Eligible inventory goes to Eternaland; selected eligible items can be transferred with Resource Inheritance Points. | Scenario progression, including level and Memetics, resets under the new scenario’s rules. |
| Sign up early for a permanent server | Permanent server | Normal signup rules apply; scenario resources such as gear and consumables reset. | Level and scenario resources reset under the 2025 notice’s early-signup rule. |
| Wait for the end-of-scenario merge | Corresponding permanent server after the rest period | FAQ describes an automatic merge; this is not the same as early signup. | Progress can be preserved, according to the 2025 notice. |
| Pause in Eternaland | Eternaland | Relevant eligible supplies are handled under the transition rules. | No immediate signup for a new scenario is required. |
Prepare before you leave
- Open the scenario sign-up or inheritance screen. Separate items marked for direct inheritance from those that cost Resource Inheritance Points; confirm item eligibility and current costs there.
- Choose transfers for the scenario you are entering. Prioritize the eligible supplies most useful to your plans rather than assuming everything in Eternaland can be carried in at once.
- Save or verify your house blueprint. The layout can persist, but rebuilding still requires materials in the next scenario.
- Check permanent-server timing. Decide whether you are signing up early, with the associated reset, or waiting for the end-of-scenario merge described by the official rules.
- Take a break if you want one. Eternaland is an available pause option; a new scenario does not have to be joined immediately.
