Old School RuneScape creator Coxie has collected all 71 pets on a brand-new account in a reported 3 years, 9 months and 23 days. The account recorded 273 days and 20 hours of playtime—6,572 hours in total—making it the fastest all-pets completion reported in coverage of the achievement, although it has not been formally recognized by Jagex as an official permanent world record.
What Coxie completed
The challenge was to obtain every pet available in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) using a fresh account. Coxie had previously collected the full pet set on an account named Malfoy, then started over to find out how quickly the collection could be repeated from nothing.
The new account began with no skills, items or in-game currency. Coxie’s run was documented in a YouTube series that began in April 2023 and ended when the account received its 71st pet.

The calendar figure includes the time between account creation and completion, while the 6,572-hour figure is the account’s logged playtime. They are different measures: the account existed for almost four years, but Coxie was not playing every hour of that period.

What was the last pet?
Beef, the pet associated with Brutus, was the final drop. Coxie obtained it at 565 kills. His completion post, dated October 10, 2026, stated:

That last drop ended the collection, but it also illustrates the uncertainty built into the challenge: even after 70 pets, the final one still required hundreds of attempts.

The restrictions were designed to prevent the account from being jump-started by an established character:

Coxie could use alternate accounts and could pay other players with gold earned by the challenge account. Those allowances let him accelerate selected activities without importing wealth or gear from outside the run.
Why collecting every OSRS pet is so difficult
Pets come from a mix of boss fights, minigames and skilling activities, so the account must master very different parts of the game. Some pet drops can be around 1 in 5,000. The Jal-Nib-Rek pet, for example, is listed at 1 in 100 Inferno completions.

Rare drops are only part of the problem
A low drop rate means that a player can perform the required activity hundreds or thousands of times without a pet. Bad luck can extend an otherwise efficient route, and every additional pet adds another source of variance to the total completion time.
High-skill content creates a second barrier
The Inferno is a demanding player-versus-environment challenge that only a very small percentage of OSRS players complete. A pet hunt therefore requires not only persistence with random drops, but also the ability to clear difficult content repeatedly and consistently.

Is this officially the OSRS world record?
GamesRadar reports that Jagex verified Coxie’s achievement and the account’s playtime. Dexerto, however, notes that Jagex had not formally acknowledged the result as an official record. The careful description is therefore “the fastest all-pets completion reported” rather than a permanently sanctioned world record.
GamesRadar also reported a second-place all-pets run at 572 days, or 13,728 hours. That comparison should be read with the same qualifications: account rules, activity patterns and changes to the pet roster affect what the numbers mean.
Why the target can change
OSRS can add new pets. If another pet is introduced, an account that has already collected 71 may no longer have the complete set, and Coxie could need to extend the run. That is why “fastest” is a time-specific description rather than a guarantee that the ranking will remain unchanged.
