Neither Obamium nor Adamantite has a real-world strength rating. Obamium is a hypothetical element discussed by Barack Obama, while Adamantite is a fictional material whose properties vary by game or story. There is no materials test that ranks them against each other. To compare them meaningfully, you need the specific fictional setting—and, for real materials, a defined measure such as tensile strength, hardness, toughness, or melting point.
Are Obamium and Adamantite real metals?
No. Neither name refers to a recognized chemical element or an engineering alloy with standardized physical properties.
Obamium is a hypothetical element
A 2016 Forbes report described Obamium in an interview with engineer and YouTube educator Destin Sandlin. Asked to imagine a desirable element, Barack Obama said, “I would want it to be stable.” He also wanted it to act as a catalyst without becoming too hot or too cold, to be useful to humanity, and not to be merely a shiny object. Those are imagined qualities, not measured properties of a discovered metal.

Adamantite appears in fantasy and games, but the name does not establish one shared canon or fixed set of physical properties. Its strength, crafting uses, or in-game statistics depend on the particular game or story. For example, a game guide or mod may assign Adamantite a role in that setting; those rules are not laboratory results.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Which is stronger, Obamium or Adamantite?
There is no objective real-world winner. No standardized test compares the two, and neither has agreed physical properties. A fictional comparison can only be answered after identifying the relevant story, game, or meme and using that source’s rules. If a game gives Adamantite a defense rating, that rating describes the game—not a metal tested for tensile strength or hardness.
What does “strongest metal” actually mean?
Strength is not one universal score. The right comparison depends on what a material must withstand, and results can change with temperature, composition, processing, and form.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Tensile strength: resistance to being pulled apart. A meaningful figure needs its test conditions, including temperature and material form.
- Hardness: resistance to indentation or scratching. Hardness alone does not show how much energy a material absorbs before breaking.
- Toughness and brittleness: toughness concerns energy absorbed before fracture; brittleness describes a tendency to crack rather than deform. A hard material can still be brittle.
- Melting point and high-temperature performance: useful measures for heat exposure, but not a general ranking of strength.
- Density: mass per volume. It is not a strength measurement.
- Fabricability and use: practical performance also depends on whether a material can be shaped and made into a useful part.
What real metals show about strength trade-offs
Tungsten: exceptional heat performance, with processing limits
PubChem’s tungsten record, drawing on descriptions from Los Alamos National Laboratory and Jefferson Lab, identifies tungsten as having the highest melting point of any metal and the highest tensile strength above 1650°C. That high-temperature qualification matters: it is not a claim that tungsten leads every strength measure at every temperature. The record also notes that contaminated tungsten becomes brittle and difficult to work. Tungsten carbide, a compound rather than pure tungsten metal, is used in drill bits, high-speed cutting tools, and mining machinery.
Osmium: very hard, but brittle and difficult to fabricate
PubChem’s osmium record, also drawing on Los Alamos National Laboratory and Jefferson Lab, describes osmium as extremely hard but brittle and very difficult to fabricate. It is used mainly in hard alloys for applications where resistance to frictional wear matters, including pen tips, instrument pivots, phonograph needles, and electrical contacts. The record also notes that measurements and calculations underlying comparisons of osmium and iridium density are disputed.

Density does not settle a strength comparison
PubChem’s periodic-table density data list osmium at 22.57 and iridium at 22.42. Those figures compare density, not strength, and cannot establish which metal is harder to break or better for a particular job.

How to compare fictional materials without mixing up the facts
- Name the setting. Identify the game, story, or other source that defines the material. If there is no single source, say that the name has no fixed canon.
- Choose the property. Ask whether the comparison concerns damage resistance, hardness, tensile strength, heat resistance, or another measure. A fictional stat called “strength” may not map to a real engineering test.
- Keep fictional rules separate from physical evidence. Present game values as game mechanics, and real-metal measurements with their conditions and source.
- State the trade-off. A material that excels in one property may perform poorly in another or be difficult to manufacture into a usable part.
