NVIDIA Tegra did not disappear entirely: its early phone-and-tablet processors reached the end of their listed availability, while NVIDIA’s embedded-computing work continues under the Jetson platform. NVIDIA’s lifecycle table lists Tegra 2, Tegra 3, and Tegra K1 through January 2024, and listed Jetson Orin modules through January 2032. That is a shift in emphasis from mobile SoCs to embedded, robotics, automotive, and edge-AI systems—not evidence that every Tegra-derived design stopped being used.
What happened to NVIDIA Tegra?
Tegra began as NVIDIA’s integrated system-on-chip (SoC) family for mobile devices. It combined CPU and graphics capabilities with other system functions, and NVIDIA marketed early generations for phones and tablets. In February 2012, NVIDIA announced that Tegra 3 would power the HTC One X. Its 4-PLUS-1 design paired four performance cores with a lower-power companion core, an approach NVIDIA presented as balancing performance and power use. NVIDIA’s HTC One X announcement
Later generations broadened the family’s public positioning. NVIDIA’s Tegra X1 materials described applications spanning mobile devices, embedded products, autonomous machines, and automotive systems. That evolution helps explain why Tegra’s story did not end when it became less prominent in phones: NVIDIA’s current embedded and edge-computing work is presented through Jetson. The available evidence does not establish a single reason for Tegra’s reduced phone presence or a precise date when all consumer uses ended.
Is NVIDIA Tegra still being made?
NVIDIA’s lifecycle table lists Tegra 2, Tegra 3, and Tegra K1 processors with availability through January 2024. This is an endpoint for those specific commercial listings, not a blanket status statement about every Tegra derivative, custom design, or device containing Tegra technology. NVIDIA also says an official end-of-life notice will be sent at least eight months before the last shipment. NVIDIA Jetson Product Lifecycle

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
For Tegra K1 development, NVIDIA’s developer page says the SoC would remain available through January 2024 and identifies JetPack 3.1 as the final JetPack version for the Jetson TK1 Developer Kit. That marks the end of the stated software path for that kit; it should not be read as a current development recommendation. NVIDIA Jetson TK1 developer page
How Tegra compares with NVIDIA’s current Jetson direction
The change is clearer when comparing the intended use and developer context rather than treating unlike generations as directly benchmarkable chips.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

On August 25, 2026, NVIDIA announced Jetson Orin Nano 2. The company said it delivers twice the predecessor’s inference performance in the same form factor and uses 40% less power at equal performance. Those figures are NVIDIA’s announcement claims; they should not be treated as independently verified measurements. The same release reported more than 3 million developers on NVIDIA’s robotics stack, a company-reported figure rather than an independent measure of commercial adoption. For a developer who wants to explore NVIDIA’s current edge-AI direction, the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit is a practical starting point for software development and prototyping. NVIDIA’s FAQ lists a suggested price of $399 at 1KU+—a volume-price reference, not a typical retail quote. The kit is a development system, not a replacement Tegra chip for an old phone.
