Japanese retail listings show the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB at $881–$1,292, versus its reported $530 launch price. The RTX 5080 is listed at $1,864–$2,444 against a reported $1,260 launch price. Those are individual listings, not a single national street price: Tom’s Hardware’s sampled Japanese averages were lower, but still substantially above US comparisons.
What happened to RTX 50-series prices in Japan?
Wccftech reported Tokyo listings for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB ranging from $881 to $1,292. Compared with the reported $530 launch price, that represents a 66% to 144% increase, depending on the card and seller. The highest figure came from a 205,000-yen Tokyo listing and represents the top of a reported range, not the price every Japanese buyer will pay.
The same report placed the RTX 5080 at $1,864–$2,444, compared with its reported $1,260 launch price. In other words, both models are selling above their launch positioning, but the percentage increase is especially dramatic for the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti.

The sampled Japanese averages are lower than the headline maximum
Tom’s Hardware sampled multiple Japanese listings and calculated an average RTX 5060 Ti 16GB price of ¥168,666.67, converted to approximately $1,099.67. Its sampled RTX 5080 average was ¥330,514.43, or approximately $2,154.87. These averages are more useful for judging the observed market level than the single ¥205,000 listing, although they are still snapshots rather than a permanent national price.

Why the Japanese price can look so high
Retail listings are not the same as an official Japanese MSRP
The $1,292 RTX 5060 Ti figure is an individual Tokyo listing. It should not be read as a uniform price across Japan. Different stores can list different board partners, cooler designs, warranties and stock conditions, creating a wide spread even within the same city.
Currency conversions are moving snapshots
The dollar amounts in the reports are conversions of yen prices at the time of reporting. Exchange rates change, so a later conversion will not exactly reproduce the quoted dollar figure. The yen prices are therefore the more direct record of what the sampled Japanese stores displayed.
Board-partner premiums affect like-for-like comparisons
A card sold under the same GPU name can carry a different cooler, factory settings, warranty package and retailer margin. Those board-partner differences help explain why one listing can sit well above another without representing a change to NVIDIA’s underlying GPU specification.

How Japan compares with US pricing
Tom’s Hardware’s Japanese sample put the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB 25.19% above its US pre-tax comparison. One direct table entry was the ASUS Dual RTX 5060 Ti 16GB at ¥159,800 (approximately $1,041.86) in Japan, versus $839.99 pre-tax in the US.
US prices were not static either. Tom’s Hardware reported that the US Newegg median for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB rose from $569.99 in June 2026 to $804.99 in August 2026, a 39% increase. The RTX 5080 median rose 3% over the same period. A Japanese buyer is therefore facing both a Japan-versus-US gap and a broader upward movement in US retail pricing.
| Comparison | Japan | US reference | Difference or change |
|---|---|---|---|
| ASUS Dual RTX 5060 Ti 16GB | ¥159,800 (approximately $1,041.86) | $839.99 pre-tax | Japan listing is approximately 24% higher |
| RTX 5060 Ti 16GB sampled average | ¥168,666.67 (approximately $1,099.67) | US pre-tax comparison | 25.19% higher in the Japanese sample |
| US RTX 5060 Ti 16GB median | Not applicable | $569.99 in June 2026; $804.99 in August 2026 | 39% increase |
| US RTX 5080 median | Not applicable | June-to-August 2026 | 3% increase |
US figures are pre-tax where stated. Japanese checkout totals can also vary with consumption tax treatment, delivery charges and the seller’s warranty terms, so the two markets are not perfectly comparable from sticker prices alone.

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB versus RTX 5080 at these prices
Both GPUs belong to NVIDIA’s Blackwell GeForce RTX 50-series. NVIDIA highlights DLSS, neural rendering, fifth-generation Tensor cores and fourth-generation ray-tracing cores across this generation. Its Japan product page describes RTX as “RTX はパストレーシングとニューラルレンダリングのための先進的なプラットフォームであり、これまでゲームの遊び方やクリエイティブ活動に革命をもたらしてきました。”

The reports provide pricing, not an independent benchmark set. You should therefore treat the following as a buying framework rather than a performance ranking derived from testing.

Should you buy the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB now or wait?
Buying now can make sense when
- You need a replacement immediately and have found a reputable seller near the sampled Japanese average rather than the highest listing.
- Your workload specifically benefits from 16GB of VRAM and the exact card’s warranty and return policy are acceptable.
- You have compared the final yen checkout total, including tax and shipping, with other Japanese sellers.
Waiting is safer when
- The only available card is near the $1,292 top listing and you are not facing an urgent hardware failure.
- You are deciding between the 5060 Ti and 5080 mainly on performance, because the supplied price reports contain no independent benchmark results to quantify the gap.
- You expect exchange rates, retailer stock or board-partner availability to change your local price.
Checklist before ordering from a Japanese listing
- Confirm the exact model. Check whether the listing is the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti configuration and record the board partner and cooler model.
- Check the seller and warranty. Verify who handles returns, whether the warranty is valid in your region and whether the product is new, open-box or imported.
- Calculate the delivered cost. Add consumption tax where applicable, shipping and any payment-conversion charge instead of comparing only the headline yen price.
- Read the return conditions. High-priced graphics cards can have stricter return rules, restocking charges or short inspection windows.
- Recheck the date and currency. The quoted dollar conversions are time-sensitive; use the current yen price and exchange rate when making the decision.
The clearest conclusion is that the Japanese market is expensive, but the $1,292 RTX 5060 Ti listing is an outlier within a broader range. Tom’s Hardware’s sampled average gives a more realistic indication of observed pricing, while the direct ASUS comparison confirms that Japan was still materially above the US pre-tax reference. Buyers who can wait should compare multiple sellers; buyers who cannot should focus on the delivered total, warranty and exact board rather than the headline conversion alone.
