The Nuna MIXX² ST-48-001CA is an older stroller with a publicly listed 2018 CHOICE test, but the detailed rating and test results are member-only. The available public information identifies useful specifications; it does not establish whether this model passed a safety test or whether it is a good buy at today’s price.

This is the Nuna MIXX², model ST-48-001CA—not the newer MIXX next. CHOICE identifies the ST-48-001CA in its product listing and gives 2018 as the test year. A retailer listing also associates the SKU with the Mixx2. Features and compatibility information for MIXX next should not be assumed to apply to this older model.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What did CHOICE’s test conclude?
The public product page says the MIXX² was tested in 2018, but CHOICE restricts its expert rating and detailed results to members. The accessible information therefore does not support a model-specific verdict on its test performance, safety outcome, or rank against other strollers.
CHOICE’s broader safety reporting says 71 of 152 single strollers it tested from 2013 through 2022 failed at least one mandatory or voluntary safety standard—47% of that tested group. That population-level statistic is not a result for the MIXX². CHOICE also says some products with very minor failures may still be recommended, depending on the severity of the failure. Its article cautions: “It’s important to note the year the model was tested in, as results from one year are not applicable to models with the same name that were manufactured earlier or later.”

A retailer describes the MIXX2 as a four-mode stroller that can pair with a Nuna PIPA car seat, but that product copy alone is not enough to confirm a particular seat-and-adapter combination for ST-48-001CA. Before buying or using a car seat, bassinet, adapter, or other accessory, check the instructions for the exact stroller and accessory models or ask Nuna to confirm the fit.

Nuna’s current MIXX next page says that the MIXX next pairs with the MIXX series bassinet and PIPA series infant seats and includes a ring adapter. Its support FAQ lists a ring adapter, child tray, cup holder, rain cover, and wheeled travel bag. Those are MIXX next details, not proof that the same parts fit the older MIXX².
The Nuna Canada manual directory is a starting point for locating instructions by product family and code; the available directory information does not establish a manual specifically labeled ST-48-001CA. The MIXX next manual warns against using accessories not specified by Nuna and describes its ring adapter for a Nuna PIPA series infant seat with a Nuna MIXX series stroller. Because that manual covers MIXX next, it cannot by itself verify fitment for the MIXX².

What should you check before buying a used or old-stock MIXX²?
Because this is an older model and the available sources do not establish current stock or price, assess the specific stroller rather than relying on a current MIXX next listing or the historical A$897 figure. Verify the model label and condition, and get model-specific confirmation for any seat or accessory you intend to use.
- Confirm the label identifies the stroller as MIXX² ST-48-001CA.
- Inspect the frame, wheels, brakes, harness, folding mechanism, and seat for damage or wear.
- Check that the seller includes the parts you need, then confirm each part’s compatibility with this exact model.
- Ask Nuna or the seller for applicable instructions and any relevant service or recall information before use.
- Compare the actual price and condition with other available strollers; the historical review price is not a current valuation.
Verdict
The public record gives a clear identity and a handful of practical specifications for the MIXX² ST-48-001CA, including its 14.9 kg weight and 22.7 kg maximum child weight. It does not disclose CHOICE’s detailed 2018 result, establish a model-specific safety verdict, or verify compatibility of current MIXX next accessories. Treat it as a distinct older stroller and confirm condition, current availability, and exact fitment before committing to a purchase.
