The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has the larger listed battery in India, while the Nothing Phone (4b) lists 4K video recording and a Glyph Bar. Both advertise displays with refresh rates up to 120 Hz, but their processor names and specifications alone do not establish which phone is faster or takes better photos. The comparison is region-sensitive: Xiaomi’s specifications cited here are for India, and Nothing lists different battery capacities for India and other markets.

Specifications are from Nothing’s Phone (4b) product page and Xiaomi India’s Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G specifications. They describe listed features, not independently measured results.
Battery and charging: Redmi leads on listed capacity
Xiaomi’s India specification page lists a 9,000 mAh typical battery and 67 W charging for the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G. Nothing lists the Phone (4b) with a 6,000 mAh battery in India and a 5,200 mAh battery for its other listed regional version. Nothing says the phone can charge to 50% in under 30 minutes; that is a manufacturer claim, not a directly comparable charge-time test against Xiaomi.

Capacity does not by itself tell you how long a phone lasts in everyday use: screen settings, signal, apps, and other conditions affect endurance. Xiaomi’s separate statement that its battery can last 3.5+ days is attributed to internal lab testing; it is not a head-to-head result. See Xiaomi’s product page.

Displays: similar refresh rates, different listed resolution
Nothing lists a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED screen with an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi lists a slightly larger, approximately 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display, with 1.5K resolution and refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Both therefore advertise high refresh rates, but Xiaomi explicitly gives the resolution in its cited India specifications. Those numbers do not by themselves establish which screen looks better in person.
Camera and video: compare recording modes, not assumed image quality
Nothing lists a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an ultra-wide camera, and 4K video recording. Xiaomi’s India specification page lists a 50 MP OIS main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, with rear video recording up to 1080p.
If recording resolution is your deciding factor, 4K is the higher listed mode on the Nothing. That does not prove it produces better-looking photos or video overall: the specifications do not provide a comparable image-quality test.

Performance and software support
The phones use differently named processors: Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 in the Nothing and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 in the Redmi, according to their respective manufacturer materials. Without comparable benchmark results or hands-on testing, the processor names are not enough to declare a speed or gaming winner.
Nothing’s product page describes Nothing OS 4.1. Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and states that the India model will receive 4 OS updates and 6 years of security updates. The reviewed Nothing product information does not establish a comparable support duration, so a support-period comparison cannot be made from these details.

Nothing’s Germany store lists the Phone (4b) at €329 for the displayed 8GB/128GB configuration. That is a regional store price for one configuration, not a global price. Nothing’s India launch announcement includes launch and offer-specific pricing, which should not be treated as a current offer.

The reviewed Xiaomi India specifications do not establish a current price for a matching storage configuration. As a result, these figures do not support a fair price difference calculation. Compare current prices in the same country and for the same storage tier before deciding which costs less. Sources: Nothing Germany store and Nothing community launch announcement.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Redmi based on battery capacity: Xiaomi’s India listing gives it a 9,000 mAh typical battery, larger than either regional Phone (4b) capacity listed by Nothing.
- Consider the Nothing for its documented video mode and features: Nothing lists 4K video recording and a Glyph Bar. These features do not establish superior overall camera quality.
- Compare the actual displays you will use: Both list refresh rates up to 120 Hz; Xiaomi additionally specifies 1.5K resolution on its India page.
- Check regional pricing and support details: The available price figures are not a current, matching-country, matching-storage comparison, and the reviewed Nothing details do not provide a comparable software-support duration.
For performance, camera quality, and real-world battery life, the listed specifications do not settle which phone is better. Decide using the features that matter to you, then check current local availability and prices for the exact variants.
