Choose a case whose listing explicitly says it fits the Nothing Phone (4a). Do not assume a case for the Phone (4a) Pro or an older Nothing model will fit. Since current stock, prices, and independent case-protection tests have not been established, compare listings by their exact fit evidence, camera and screen-edge coverage, design, grip, and magnetic features rather than treating any model as a proven “best.”
Start with exact Phone (4a) compatibility
Look for “Nothing Phone (4a)” in the listing title or compatibility details. A similar-looking case is not enough: button placement, camera openings, and other cutouts must match the specific phone. Nothing’s official Phone (4a) product page identifies the model and its design, but it does not establish that a third-party case fits.
Before buying, inspect the listing’s model selector and photos of the case fitted to a Phone (4a). Confirm the return terms, current stock, price, and shipping to your region on the seller’s page. Owner discussions mention Kapaver, Xundd, and an Amazon-linked suggestion as leads to investigate, not verified endorsements or proof of current availability. One owner discussion reflects a buyer’s difficulty finding cases and concern about camera coverage on the supplied case; that is one person’s experience, not a general finding about the included case.

Look at the case from the side and check whether its edges sit higher than the camera area and the screen when the phone is laid flat. Listing photos can help you assess the shape, but they do not establish how well a case protects a phone in a fall. Do not treat labels such as “military grade” or “drop-tested” as evidence unless the seller provides a result for that exact case and a clear description of the test.

The Phone (4a)’s IP64 rating and water-test description apply to the handset, not to a case or a phone-and-case combination. Nothing says the phone was tested under 25 cm of water for up to 20 minutes; that claim is not a case water-resistance rating. Nothing’s product page
Choose how much of the phone you want to see
A clear or translucent case leaves more of the phone’s design visible; an opaque case changes its appearance and can conceal it. Balance grip, bulk, and raised edges
A slim case may preserve more of the handset’s original feel, while thicker corners or a more pronounced raised edge can add bulk. These are trade-offs to judge from the case’s construction and dimensions, not measured comparisons between specific models. If you are concerned about dropping your phone, prioritize a secure-feeling grip and visible edge coverage over a slim profile, while remembering that neither appearance nor thickness proves drop protection.

Understand what a magnetic case can—and cannot—do
A magnetic ring or other magnetic feature may help attach a compatible mount or wallet. It does not enable wireless charging on the Phone (4a): a TechRadar review says the phone has no wireless charging. Use the phone’s dimensions as a clue, not a fit guarantee
TechRadar lists the Phone (4a) at 164 × 77.6 × 8.6 mm. Those dimensions can help you recognize the handset in a listing, but they do not verify a case’s button alignment, cutouts, camera surround, or fit. TechRadar review
