Those are retailer snapshots, not guaranteed current prices or a like-for-like MSRP comparison. The practical choice is between the Nothing’s dedicated telephoto and ultrawide cameras and the Redmi’s larger stated battery, microSD expansion and longer stated OS-update term.

Which phone has the more flexible camera setup?

The Nothing Phone (3a) has three distinct rear-camera roles: a stabilized main camera, a telephoto camera with 2× optical zoom and an ultrawide camera. The Redmi’s listed rear cameras are a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera. That makes the Nothing the more versatile choice on paper for framing distant subjects or wider scenes without relying solely on digital zoom or cropping.

This is a hardware comparison, not a verdict on image quality. The available specifications do not provide controlled head-to-head results for detail, low-light performance, color or video. The Nothing’s front camera is listed at 32MP versus 20MP for the Redmi, but megapixel count alone does not establish which phone takes better selfies.

How do the screens compare?

Both phones list a 6.77-inch display and refresh rates up to 120Hz. Nothing describes its panel as flexible AMOLED and lists FHD+ resolution; Xiaomi lists a curved AMOLED panel at 2392 × 1080. Xiaomi claims up to 3200 nits peak brightness, compared with Nothing’s 3000-nit claim. These brightness figures come from the manufacturers, not a common test, so they do not prove that the Redmi will look brighter in every setting.

Battery capacity, charging and weight

Xiaomi lists a 5800mAh typical-capacity battery and 45W charging for the Redmi; Nothing lists a 5000mAh battery and 50W charging for the Phone (3a). The Redmi therefore has the larger stated capacity, while the Nothing has the higher rated charging wattage. Capacity and wattage alone do not establish which lasts longer in everyday use or which completes a full charge sooner. Xiaomi lists a charger in the Redmi’s box.

The Redmi is also lighter according to the published figures: 178g for black and white or 182g for crimson, against 201g for the Nothing in 91mobiles’ comparison. Xiaomi’s IP65/IP66 language is subject to its stated laboratory and warranty caveats; it should not be read as a promise that the phone is waterproof.

Storage, software and update commitments

Storage choices

The Redmi is listed in 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations, and supports microSD expansion up to 1TB subject to compatibility. Nothing’s India product page showed an 8GB/128GB selection, while historical launch material also mentions an 8GB/256GB version. Check the exact variant available before buying; a retailer price may be for a different memory configuration than the one you intend to purchase.

Software support

Xiaomi’s India product page states “4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches.” For the Nothing Phone (3a), 91mobiles lists 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates. The Nothing duration is attributed here to that comparison source; confirm the current regional terms with the manufacturer before relying on an update commitment.
