The Nothing Phone (3a) and OPPO Reno16 5G have overlapping 120 Hz AMOLED displays, but their listed camera, battery and charging specifications differ. There is no reliable price winner from the official prices available here: Nothing’s figure is for Europe, while OPPO’s is for India, and the Reno16 model discussed below is India’s CPH2865.
First, identify which Reno16 you mean
“OPPO Reno16” alone does not identify a single global configuration. OPPO says pricing, availability and release timing vary by market; its detailed listing discussed here is the Reno16 5G, model CPH2865, for India. The Nothing listing is on Nothing’s Europe-facing page. Check the exact regional model and local configuration before comparing or buying.

Specifications are manufacturer claims, not independent head-to-head test results. Display peak brightness and HBM brightness are different labels, so the figures should not be read as directly comparable measurements. The IP ratings also represent different protection classifications; check the manufacturer’s usage guidance rather than treating either phone as waterproof.

Nothing Europe lists the Phone (3a) from €329 and shows 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB configuration selectors. Confirm the selected configuration and checkout price, including local taxes and availability, before relying on the starting figure. OPPO India lists the Reno16 5G at ₹66,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB+256GB; those prices were stated as correct on 31 August 2026.

These prices are in different currencies and markets, and the listed configurations are not a like-for-like comparison. Do not subtract one from the other or call either phone cheaper on this evidence. For a useful local comparison, match the country, tax basis, storage tier and current checkout price.
Which phone fits your priorities?
Choose by local price, not currency conversion
Start with the exact model and memory/storage configuration sold in your country. Compare current tax-inclusive checkout prices and any discount available to you. The Europe and India price listings above do not establish which is the better value in a particular market.

Look at the stated zoom reach, not megapixels alone
The Nothing lists a 2x optical telephoto camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. India’s Reno16 lists a 3.5x optical telephoto and a 50 MP ultrawide. That makes the OPPO’s listed telephoto reach longer on paper, but camera resolution and zoom specifications alone do not show which phone produces better photos.
Compare battery claims without assuming real-world results
OPPO lists the larger battery capacity and higher charging rating for its India Reno16: 6,700 mAh typical (6,490 mAh rated) and 80 W, compared with Nothing’s 5,000 mAh and 50 W. Those manufacturer figures do not establish which phone lasts longer in daily use or how quickly either charges in measured testing.

Check durability and what comes in the box
The listed ratings differ: IP64 for Nothing and IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K for the India Reno16. Treat these as ratings with specific test conditions, not permission to expose a phone to any water or dust situation. OPPO lists a charger and protective case in the India package; Nothing lists a cable and pre-applied screen protector. Box contents can vary by market, so verify the local SKU.

The official specifications give a useful hardware comparison, but they do not establish a performance winner. No independent head-to-head benchmark, camera test, battery-runtime test or charging-time measurement is available in the material cited here. For questions such as which feels smoother or takes better photos, seek tests of the exact regional models and software versions rather than inferring results from chipset names or megapixel counts.
OPPO also describes an optional Bubble rear-camera monitor for the Reno16 series. Compatibility requires a compatible case or magnetic ring, and local availability is not established. Treat it as an accessory consideration, not a standard feature of every Reno16 package.
