Nothing Phone (3a) is the safer choice to assess from published specifications: Nothing lists its display, cameras, battery, durability rating and software-support commitment. A reliable head-to-head verdict is not possible yet because the exact Motorola model and its specifications are unclear. In India, Motorola lists a “moto g max,” but third-party pages describing a “Moto G Max 5G” disagree on key details. Check the precise variant and live price before deciding.
What the comparison can establish
The Nothing Phone (3a) has a detailed specification sheet on Nothing’s Europe product page. Motorola’s India family listing identifies a “moto g max” and shows memory configurations and pricing, but the linked product page did not provide a detailed specification sheet in the material available. That leaves the two phones without a verified, like-for-like comparison.
There is a further identity problem: third-party pages using the name “Moto G Max 5G” report different processors, battery capacities and launch timing. Until the exact Motorola SKU and regional specification sheet are confirmed, those reports should not be treated as a definitive profile of the phone.

What is known about the Moto g max in India
Motorola India’s family listing shows “moto g max” in 4/128GB and 6/128GB configurations. It displayed an MRP of ₹42,999 and a discounted price of ₹25,999 when accessed in 2026. These are listing prices, not a guarantee of the current checkout price.
The listing does not settle whether this is the same product as the “Moto G Max 5G” described on comparison sites. Gadgets360 reports a Dimensity 6400 processor, a 5,200 mAh battery and a June 12, 2026 release date. 91mobiles gives a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, a 7,000 mAh battery and an August 2026 launch timing. Those details conflict, and neither should be presented as confirmed Motorola specifications.

Price difference: compare equivalent listings, not snapshots
Price depends on country, seller, memory configuration and promotion. The figures below are reference snapshots, not a stable or like-for-like price comparison.
| Phone or listing | Configuration shown | Price and context |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing Phone (3a) | Not stated in the cited price snapshot | €329 starting price on Nothing’s Europe page accessed in 2026; not an India price or guaranteed checkout price. |
| Nothing Phone 3a | Not stated in the cited price snapshot | ₹24,999 on Flipkart in a 91mobiles snapshot accessed in 2026. |
| Moto g max | 4/128GB or 6/128GB | ₹25,999 displayed discount price and ₹42,999 MRP on Motorola India’s listing accessed in 2026. |
| Moto g max 5G | Not stated in the cited price snapshot | ₹28,979 on Amazon India in a 91mobiles snapshot accessed in 2026; the product identity and configuration need checking. |
The ₹24,999 and ₹28,979 retailer quotes imply a ₹3,980 gap between those particular snapshots, with the Nothing listing lower. That is not a definitive price difference between equivalent models: the sellers, configurations and Moto identity are not confirmed as matching. Check the product name, SKU, RAM/storage and checkout total at the retailer before using the gap to choose a phone.

How to make a fair choice
Choose based on the features you can verify
Phone (3a)’s published specification gives buyers a clear basis for considering its display, dedicated telephoto camera, charging and stated update support. Whether those features matter more than the Moto’s eventual verified specifications depends on the exact Motorola variant and your priorities.
Verify the Motorola model before comparing hardware
- Match the full model name and SKU on the Motorola product page, box or retailer listing.
- Confirm the regional release and whether the listing is for the 4/128GB or 6/128GB configuration shown by Motorola India.
- Use an official SKU-specific source to check the display, camera modules, battery, charging, IP rating and software-support term.
- Do not infer battery life from capacity alone, or treat conflicting third-party specifications as settled facts.
Compare final prices for the same market and tier
Use current checkout prices from the same country and, where possible, equivalent storage configurations. Include applicable discounts and confirm warranty coverage for the region. The official Nothing Europe starting price should not be compared directly with Indian retailer prices.
Verdict
Based on verifiable information, Nothing Phone (3a) is easier to evaluate, but the available facts do not establish that it is the better overall phone or the better value. The “Moto G Max 5G” identity and specifications remain unsettled against Motorola’s India listing. Confirm the exact Motorola SKU and compare equivalent local prices before making a head-to-head decision.
