The Nothing Phone (3a) is the more camera-flexible choice on paper, with a dedicated 2x telephoto lens and specified 50 W wired charging. The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G has the higher published water-and-dust rating and a longer stated OS-upgrade commitment. Both list 5,000 mAh batteries and 120 Hz AMOLED-class displays, so the better fit depends on which differences matter to you—and on the price for your market and storage configuration.
Nothing Phone (3a) vs Galaxy A37 5G: specifications
The figures below come from manufacturer pages for different markets. Configurations, dimensions, support terms and availability can vary by region; check the local listing before buying.
| Specification | Nothing Phone (3a) | Samsung Galaxy A37 5G |

Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
Choose the Phone (3a) for a dedicated telephoto lens
Nothing lists a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom alongside its main and ultrawide cameras. That gives the Phone (3a) a dedicated lens for closer framing without relying only on digital cropping.
Choose the A37 if you want a macro camera
Samsung’s Korean specification lists a 5 MP macro camera instead of a telephoto lens. Its rear-camera set is main, ultrawide and macro. This is a difference in camera versatility, not proof that one phone takes better photos: megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality, and the cited specifications are not a standardized camera test.

The front cameras are listed at 32 MP for Nothing and 12 MP for Samsung. Those resolutions do not by themselves establish which produces better selfies.
How do their displays, charging and durability differ?
Displays are close in size and refresh rate
Both manufacturers list a large FHD+ AMOLED-class display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Nothing’s cited display is 6.77 inches; Samsung’s is 6.7 inches. Manufacturer brightness claims are not directly comparable unless their test methods and conditions match.
Nothing specifies faster wired charging
Both phones list a 5,000 mAh battery, but only Nothing’s cited product page specifies a charging rate: 50 W wired. Samsung’s cited pages do not establish the A37’s charging wattage. Equal battery capacity does not establish equal battery life, and the available figures do not support a charging-time comparison.

The A37’s IP68 rating is higher than the Phone (3a)’s IP64. An IP rating is a classification for ingress protection, not a guarantee against every kind of liquid or dust exposure, accidental damage or wear.

Which phone is likely to stay supported longer?
On the cited regional product pages, Samsung states up to six OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the A37; Nothing lists three Android updates and six years of security patches for the Phone (3a). Samsung therefore advertises more OS upgrades, while both listings state six years for security support.
Nothing’s European product page says: “Phone (3a) Series will get updates for six years, starting from when the device first became available on the market.” The start date matters: compare the remaining support period from each model’s first market availability, and confirm the terms for your country and exact model.
Which phone is faster?
The cited information is not enough to declare a performance winner. Nothing names the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3; Samsung’s UK page lists core count and clock speeds but does not name its chipset. Neither set of specifications is a head-to-head benchmark, so do not treat those details as a direct speed comparison.

There is no verified current, like-for-like price gap in the available market-specific figures. The following are regional reference points, not a current price comparison:
| Market and source | Phone | Published price | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States, Samsung Newsroom US | Galaxy A37 5G | $449.99 starting price | Samsung’s announced launch price; not a verified current offer. U.S. availability was announced to start April 9, 2026. Samsung’s U.S. announcement |
| United States, Nothing beta-program page | Phone (3a), 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage | $379 | Historical beta-program price; the program ended and Nothing says this price no longer applies. Nothing’s U.S. beta-program page |
| South Korea, Samsung Newsroom Korea | Galaxy A37 5G | ₩598,400 | Price stated in Samsung’s June 18, 2026 Korean announcement. Samsung’s Korean announcement |
| Europe, Nothing product page | Phone (3a) | €349 starting price | Nothing’s listed starting price; the page does not state a publication year. Nothing’s European product page |
The U.S. historical figures differ by $70.99, with the A37 figure higher, but subtracting an ended beta offer from a launch price does not reveal today’s price difference. Prices can vary with storage, tax, promotion and sale date; compare current listings for the same country and storage tier.
