The Motorola Edge 70 Max has the larger, higher-resolution, faster-refresh display and substantially higher battery and charging figures on paper. The Nothing Phone (3) has a dedicated 3× telephoto camera in its reported three-camera rear system. There is no comparable independent head-to-head test here, so those specifications do not establish which phone performs better overall.
How to compare their prices fairly
The available prices come from different countries and cannot support a direct price-difference verdict. Nothing’s US store page selects the 12 GB/256 GB Phone (3) configuration, but its listed price is a dated US snapshot and can change. Motorola India listed the Edge 70 Max at ₹54,999 against an MRP of ₹89,999 when its storefront was captured on October 7, 2026; that offer is also subject to change. Compare current listings in your own market and match RAM and storage before deciding which costs less.
For context only, TechRadar reported Phone (3) launch prices of $799/£799 for 12 GB/256 GB and $899/£899 for 16 GB/512 GB in its November 2025 review. Those are historical launch prices, not current offers. Motorola India’s cited storefront lists 8 GB/256 GB and 12 GB/256 GB options, while Motorola’s regional specification page describes an 8 GB RAM, 256 GB entry. Regional listings are not interchangeable, and availability can vary by market.

Which display and processor fit your priorities?
Motorola lists the bigger panel: 6.82 inches versus 6.67 inches, with 1440 × 3168 resolution and up to 144 Hz versus the Phone (3)’s 1260 × 2800 and up to 120 Hz. That gives the Edge 70 Max the stronger paper specification for screen size, pixel count and maximum refresh rate. It does not establish that every app or use case will run at the maximum refresh rate.

Motorola also lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while the Phone (3) review names a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Chip names alone are not a reliable substitute for a matched performance test, and no equivalent independent benchmark comparison was established for these two phones. Motorola’s 7000-nit peak-brightness figure is a manufacturer lab result for specific scenarios, not a sustained brightness measurement.

Camera choice: zoom versatility versus the listed setup
The clearest hardware distinction is the dedicated telephoto camera in the Phone (3)’s reported trio of 50 MP rear cameras. That gives it a distinct lens for 3× telephoto shooting. Motorola’s cited specification lists a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8 MP ultrawide/macro camera; it does not list a dedicated telephoto camera in that configuration.

- Crystal clear transparency flaunts original phone design
- Raised bezels lift screen and camera off flat surfaces
- Pronounced buttons are easy to feel and press, while large cutouts fit most cables
- Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case Compatible with Nothing Phone (3)
This is a comparison of stated camera hardware, not image quality. The available evidence does not establish which phone takes better photos or video overall, so do not treat the lens count or megapixel figures as a camera-test result.
Battery capacity and charging: larger figures are not endurance tests
Motorola specifies a 7100 mAh typical battery capacity and 6890 mAh rated capacity. It lists 90 W wired charging and 25 W Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. The Phone (3) review reports a 5150 mAh battery, 65 W wired charging and 15 W wireless charging. The Edge 70 Max therefore has larger capacity and faster stated charging figures on paper.

- Full visibility and usage of Glyph Interface lights
- Anti-slip embossed texture for a secure grip
- Non-yellowing TPU bumper and polycarbonate back
- Supports wireless charging
- Built-in strap holes to attach wrist straps and other accessories
Motorola’s support page says “up to 73 hours” of battery life, while its India product page surfaced an “up to 58 hours” estimate. These are different manufacturer claims, not comparable independently measured results; the figure depends on the applicable regional model and Motorola’s methodology. Neither number establishes how long either phone will last for a particular person. A 90 W charger may be sold separately in some markets, according to Motorola’s charging footnotes.

Durability and software support
TechRadar lists the Phone (3) as IP68-rated. Motorola lists IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H for the Edge 70 Max, while cautioning that specifications can differ by market. These ratings describe specified resistance or testing conditions; they are not a guarantee against damage or future performance in every circumstance.
Motorola’s regional support page lists Android 16, up to three years of OS updates and five years of security updates through July 2031. The Phone (3) review provides launch-era Android 15 context but does not establish Nothing’s current support duration. That source gap is not evidence that Nothing offers no updates; check the manufacturers’ current local policies before buying if support lifespan is decisive.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Motorola Edge 70 Max if you value a larger, higher-resolution, higher-refresh display, higher stated battery capacity, faster listed charging, or the update commitment on Motorola’s cited regional support page.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (3) if a dedicated 3× telephoto camera is important and its local price and configuration suit you.
- Compare current local prices and exact variants before deciding: the cited Nothing price context is US-based, while Motorola’s price listing is from India.
- Look for independent tests of the exact models if real-world speed, battery life or camera quality matters more than specifications. No comparable independent head-to-head test was established here.
