Choose based on camera versatility, not zoom headline numbers alone
The clearest camera distinction is the 4a’s third rear camera and 3.5x optical zoom, versus the 2a’s two 50MP rear cameras. Optical zoom uses the periscope camera’s optics; the advertised 70x ultra zoom is a separate high-zoom claim and should not be read as 70x optical magnification.
Compare displays without assuming identical resolution
Both phones are listed with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Nothing gives the 2a’s exact size and resolution as 6.7 inches and 1084 × 2412; its 4a regional page describes a 1.5K panel but does not establish the same exact fields for a direct numerical comparison.
Do not infer battery or speed results from the processor names
Nothing lists a Dimensity 7200 Pro in the 2a and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 in the 4a. Those names identify different processors, but the cited official information does not establish comparative benchmark results or real-world performance. The 2a’s battery and charging figures are documented; equivalent 4a figures are not established by the cited 4a product sources.
How to make a fair buying comparison
- Match the configuration. Compare 8GB/128GB with 8GB/128GB, or 12GB/256GB with 12GB/256GB. Do not treat a lower-storage model’s price as the price of a higher tier.
- Use one market and currency. Check the current price in your country rather than subtracting a Spanish euro promotion from a UK launch price or a Mexican listing.
- Check seller and condition. Compare new with new, or refurbished with refurbished, and verify whether the listing is an official-store offer or a third-party seller’s price.
- Recheck before purchase. Storefront prices, stock, and promotions can change; the 4a launch terms explicitly warn that its prices may change.
