Verdict: Norton Secure VPN can make sense if you want a straightforward VPN bundled with other Norton services, but value depends on the renewal price, device limit, and your comfort with the provider’s data practices. Norton says it does not log browsing activity; that is not the same as collecting no account, device, or service data. Check the full renewal amount and platform support before subscribing.

What Norton Secure VPN costs—and what renews

Security.org’s 2026 review reported these U.S. prices and plan limits. They are dated offer figures, not guaranteed checkout prices; offers and prices can vary by region and change over time.

Plan First-year price reported by Security.org (U.S., 2026) Renewal price reported by Security.org (U.S., 2026) Devices Cloud storage
Standard $39.99 $79.99 5 None
Plus $49.99 $109.99 5 10 GB
Ultimate $59.99 $129.99 10 50 GB

These prices and plan details were reported by Security.org’s Norton VPN review. Norton says subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before billing. Depending on the subscription, renewal may be monthly or annual; the annual renewal price is sent by email beforehand and may be higher than the introductory price. Confirm the cart’s total, billing frequency, and next renewal amount before purchase. Norton lists a 14-day refund window for initial monthly purchases and 60 days for annual payments. A trial requires a payment method and converts to a charge at its end unless canceled.

Norton also includes VPN features in select Norton 360 plans. If you already subscribe to Norton 360, compare the included features and device allowance with a standalone VPN plan so you do not pay twice. Plan and feature details are on Norton’s U.S. VPN page.

Does Norton VPN keep logs?

Norton’s product page states, “We don’t track, log, or save your browsing activities.” This is Norton’s claim about browsing activity, not a claim that the service collects no data whatsoever.

Security.org reports that Norton collects other information, including device name and type, aggregate bandwidth use, timestamps, and IP address. It also says Norton’s privacy policy permits sharing with Gen Digital partners. Those categories can exist alongside a policy of not recording browsing history: operational and account data are different from a record of the sites or content a person browses. Security.org describes a “Share app usage data” setting and a route through the account to request access to collected data.

Norton says its no-logs policy has been independently audited and points to a public transparency report. TechRadar’s 2026 review also reports an audit and twice-yearly transparency reports. Those references do not establish the audit’s scope or conclusions here, so treat them as reported disclosures rather than an independent assessment of the underlying documents. See TechRadar’s 2026 Norton VPN review.

Supported devices and important feature limits

Norton lists Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Google TV, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV support. Its page gives operating-system requirements and cautions that not every feature is available on every platform. Check the requirements for each device you plan to use on Norton’s product page before subscribing.

TechRadar reports that Norton has no Linux app and provides no OpenVPN or WireGuard configuration files for manually setting up unsupported devices. It also reports that the kill switch is off by default, and that the iOS “Pause VPN” feature depends on the selected protocol. Apps can change, so verify current settings and platform documentation rather than assuming the same controls apply across devices.

Norton names Mimic as its proprietary protocol for Windows, Mac, and Android, and says users can choose among protocols available on their platform. Claims about Mimic’s design come from Norton; they should not be treated as independent validation.

Streaming and speed: useful, but not guaranteed

Norton promotes streaming optimization and virtual-location selection. AV-TEST’s November 2024 evaluation found access to certain U.S. streaming services but limited Netflix support in non-U.S. regions. TechRadar’s 2026 review describes a much-improved service. These findings are snapshots, not a promise that a particular service or catalog will work: streaming platforms change their VPN detection, and results can vary by country, server, and date.

In that November 2024 evaluation, AV-TEST reported stable connections, no DNS or IP leaks in its internal tests, and kill-switch functionality on Windows and Android. Its qualitative conclusion was that the tested version was fast enough for common tasks, with the expected speed reduction from encrypted routing and higher latency on overseas connections. The report concerns specific versions and test conditions, not every current app, route, or connection. Read the AV-TEST November 2024 evaluation in that context.

Who should consider Norton Secure VPN?

  • It may fit: people who already use Norton services, want a simple VPN across supported devices, and are comfortable checking renewal terms and the provider’s operational-data practices.
  • Look elsewhere if: you need Linux support, manual OpenVPN or WireGuard configuration, a device allowance above your selected tier, or guaranteed access to a particular streaming catalog.
  • Before choosing any VPN: compare the post-introductory cost, device count, browsing-history and operational-data policies, platform and router support, and current access to the services you use. Avoid treating reviews made under different test conditions as a definitive universal ranking.

Security.org names NordVPN and Private Internet Access among alternatives in its review. Compare each service using the same criteria and your own platform and streaming requirements rather than assuming one provider is best for everyone.
