Likewise, camera megapixels and display resolution alone do not establish which phone takes better photos or looks better.

Which phone has the better price in India?
OnePlus Nord 5

TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G
A verified official TECNO India price for the POVA 8 Pro 5G is not established here. A third-party Gadgets Now comparison page displayed ₹44,000 for the Nord 5 and ₹46,999 for the POVA 8 Pro, but those are unverified page figures—not confirmed current offers for matched variants. They do not establish a dependable ₹2,999 price difference.

Before buying, compare the same RAM and storage configuration, seller, region, warranty, and date. Check whether the POVA 8 Pro 5G is officially sold in your market and whether its listing includes local warranty and service. Without those checks, a displayed price may not represent an equivalent purchase.
Display: both advertise 144 Hz AMOLED panels
Both phones list AMOLED displays with a 144 Hz refresh rate. The Nord 5’s listed resolution is 2800 × 1272 pixels at 450 ppi. TECNO specifies 2644 × 1208 pixels and a 6.78-inch size for the POVA 8 Pro 5G. These figures describe the panels on paper; they do not establish a tested advantage in brightness, color accuracy, outdoor visibility, or motion handling.
Choose based on the screen size and resolution that suit you, but look for independent display measurements or an in-person view if brightness and color are deciding factors. The refresh-rate specification is the same for both, so it does not distinguish them by itself.

OnePlus lists a 6800 mAh battery and 80 W charging for the Nord 5. TECNO lists 6500 mAh and 45 W for the POVA 8 Pro 5G. On those published figures, the Nord 5 has the larger rated capacity and higher charging wattage.
Those ratings are not battery endurance or charging-time measurements. Actual results depend on factors such as workload, network conditions, settings, and charging conditions. No comparable independent battery or charging test is established here, so the specifications support a paper comparison, not a claim that one lasts a particular number of hours longer or charges in a particular number of minutes.
Performance: chipset names are not a benchmark
OnePlus advertises a Snapdragon 8-series processor but does not identify the exact chipset in the specification information summarized here. TECNO specifies the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G. The available chipset labels are not enough to establish which phone is faster, runs games more smoothly over long sessions, or manages heat better.
Rank #2
- 5G Enabled - The OnePlus Nord N20 is the perfect entry-level 5G phone, featuring premium specs and an affordable price. *5G compatible with most GSM service providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Etc). Will not work with CDMA Carriers. Check with your service provider for compatibility.
- Display: Features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 128GB of storage and 68 minutes of battery life
- Camera: Includes a 5MP front camera and 5G connectivity for fast wireless speeds
- Memory: Comes with 6GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery for extended use
- Security: Equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access
TECNO’s product page includes manufacturer performance and gaming claims. Treat those as TECNO’s own claims rather than independent comparative results. For a performance-led purchase, look for independent tests of the exact regional models, including sustained workloads and gaming—not just a brief benchmark or the processor family name.

OnePlus advertises 50 MP front and rear cameras and 4K video recording at 60 frames per second. TECNO lists a 50 MP OIS main rear camera, an 8 MP ultrawide rear camera, and a 13 MP front camera. The TECNO specification names optical image stabilization for its main camera; the listed megapixel counts do not establish comparative photo quality.
If camera quality is important, compare daylight, low-light, portrait, ultrawide, selfie, and video samples from the exact models. The hardware information here does not establish which phone produces more accurate color, sharper images, steadier video, or better results in dim light.
Software support and durability
Software support
OnePlus India advertises four Android versions and six years of security updates for the Nord 5. TECNO’s specification page lists HiOS 16 based on Android 16, but an official TECNO support-duration commitment is not established here. A listed software version and a promised support period are different kinds of information; do not assume the POVA 8 Pro 5G will receive a particular number of years of updates without a manufacturer commitment for your market.
Dust and water resistance
TECNO advertises IP69K/69/68/66 dust- and water-resistance ratings for the POVA 8 Pro 5G. These are TECNO’s product claims; check the terms for the exact regional model before relying on them. No matching official resistance rating for the Nord 5 is established here, so the two phones cannot be treated as having equivalent published protection.

Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the OnePlus Nord 5 if its listed 6800 mAh battery, 80 W charging, or OnePlus India’s stated software-support window is especially important to you—and the price and warranty for your chosen variant work locally.
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if its specified 6.78-inch, 2644 × 1208, 144 Hz AMOLED display or TECNO’s advertised resistance ratings fit your priorities, and you can confirm local availability, warranty, and price.
- Wait for comparable independent testing if sustained performance, camera quality, real-world battery life, or measured charging time will decide the purchase. The published specifications alone do not settle those questions.
