If you mean a plan with zero cellular data, the reviewed options do not establish a clear winner: the three talk-and-text choices in the current comparison all include some data. They may still suit people who mostly use Wi-Fi, but compare their minutes, payment terms and coverage before choosing. The figures below come from a WhistleOut guide updated August 27, 2026; plan details and availability can change.

Are these truly no-data plans?

No. The options reviewed here are low-data plans, not confirmed zero-data plans. US Mobile and Tello include 2GB, while Ultra Mobile includes 500MB. If you need cellular data disabled or excluded entirely, check the carrier’s current plan builder and written terms before signing up; the reviewed comparison does not establish a strict no-data option.

A small allowance can be useful even if you expect to use Wi-Fi most of the time. But it is not the same as a no-data plan: cellular apps or background activity may use data when Wi-Fi is unavailable. The comparison does not specify what happens after each plan’s allowance runs out, so confirm that detail with the carrier.

How the compared low-data plans differ

WhistleOut’s guide, updated August 27, 2026, lists these choices for people who use little data. Its prices and plan descriptions are comparison-source reporting, not a guarantee that the same offer is available today.

Plan Listed price and payment Talk, text and data Notable details
US Mobile 2GB By the Gig $10 per month; WhistleOut says taxes and fees are included. Unlimited talk and text; 2GB data. WhistleOut reports hotspot data and access to three major networks in select areas on compatible devices. It also reports a $2 fee per network transfer.
Tello 300 minutes + unlimited texts + 2GB $8 per month. 300 minutes; unlimited texts; 2GB data. Runs on T-Mobile’s network and has customizable plan options. The limited calling allowance may not work for frequent callers.
Ultra Mobile Talk and Text $13 per month equivalent, paid as $39 in advance for three months. Unlimited talk and text; 500MB data. WhistleOut lists international calls to more than 90 destinations. The advertised monthly equivalent is not monthly billing.

WhistleOut’s listed figures are the source for the three plan descriptions and prices. Its guide also identifies US Mobile as its top pick, but that ranking does not make it a zero-data plan or establish that it is best for every location or calling pattern.

Which option fits your calling and payment habits?

Choose US Mobile if you value unlimited calling and network flexibility

The compared plan combines unlimited talk and text with 2GB of data for $10 a month, with taxes and fees reported as included. WhistleOut says access to three major networks is available only in select areas and on compatible devices; a network transfer carries a reported $2 fee. Check which network your phone can use and whether the transfer process fits your needs.

Consider Tello if 300 monthly minutes are enough

The listed $8 option has unlimited texts and 2GB of data, but its 300-minute allowance is the key trade-off. It is not automatically the best value for someone who makes frequent calls. Tello’s site describes its plans as customizable and changeable to fit monthly needs; confirm the current plan details before enrolling.

Consider Ultra Mobile if you want the listed international calling feature

The compared Talk and Text plan includes unlimited domestic talk and text, 500MB of data, and calls to more than 90 international destinations, according to WhistleOut. Its $13 monthly equivalent requires paying $39 for three months up front, so budget for the full advance payment rather than a single $13 monthly charge.

Why a plan with more data may not fit the brief

T-Mobile Prepaid’s reviewed Starter Monthly offer was listed at $40 for one line with AutoPay and included 15GB of high-speed data, plus unlimited talk and text. That makes it a poor match for someone seeking no data or the smallest possible allowance. The cited offer also has taxes and fees and an initial-month price condition; check T-Mobile’s current terms rather than treating the advertised monthly amount as an all-in price.

Check the details before switching

Before choosing, verify these points on the carrier’s current plan page and coverage or compatibility tools:

  • Total cost: Check taxes, fees, AutoPay conditions, and whether the amount is billed monthly or paid several months in advance.
  • Calling allowance: Confirm whether minutes are unlimited or capped, and whether international calls are included or restricted to listed destinations.
  • Data behavior: Confirm the allowance, hotspot rules, and what happens when data is used up. If you require zero cellular data, look for that explicitly in the current plan terms.
  • Coverage and phone compatibility: Check your home, work, school and regular travel locations, and confirm that your exact phone model is supported. Nationwide coverage language cannot guarantee service at a particular address.
  • Plan changes: Ask how easily you can change allowances or networks and whether a transfer fee applies.

WhistleOut’s guide reports that it tested seven plans and carriers, but its rankings and coverage assessments remain the publisher’s reporting, not a promise of performance at your address. Its guide attributes the view that US Mobile’s By the Gig plans suit customers who need little data to Senior Staff Writer Max McCaskill. It also attributes a positive assessment of Tello’s coverage and reliability after a month of use to McCaskill. Treat both as staff opinions, not independent measurements of your service.

US Mobile published a carrier-authored comparison stating that its prices and features were checked against carrier plan pages on September 10, 2026. That is useful dating context for its own plan information, but it does not establish that the other carriers’ offers remain unchanged.

What phone should you use?

A basic unlocked 4G LTE feature phone may suit a calls-and-texts routine, but no particular model’s compatibility is established here. Before buying or switching, use the chosen carrier’s compatibility checker for the exact device. An unlocked phone is not necessarily supported on every network.
