If by “Marriott Wi-Fi Switch” you mean a Nintendo Switch, you can select the hotel’s guest network in the console’s Internet settings—but that may not complete Marriott’s separate browser-based sign-in. Try the steps below, and contact the property if its portal will not work on the console.
1. Confirm the Marriott guest network
On the Switch, open System Settings → Internet → Internet Settings and check the available network names. Marriott lists MarriottBonvoy, MarriottBonvoy_Guest and brand-specific names such as brand_Guest as examples; the exact name can vary by property. Ask the front desk for the correct SSID if you are unsure. Marriott’s internet-access FAQ (Portuguese-language page) describes these examples.
2. Join the network from the Switch
- From the HOME Menu, select System Settings → Internet → Internet Settings.
- Select the hotel’s guest network. Enter a password if prompted.
- Let the console run its connection test and follow any on-screen prompts.
Nintendo documents this setup path in its wireless internet connection guide. A network name shown in gray can indicate that its security type is unsupported.

3. Complete Marriott’s sign-in portal
Selecting the SSID and connecting to Wi-Fi are not necessarily the final step: a hotel may require a separate captive-portal sign-in. Marriott says some devices display its connection screen automatically; on other devices, it may help to open a browser and go to marriottwifi.com (or type www.marriottwifi.com) and follow the screen.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
That guidance does not establish that every Nintendo Switch can display or complete every property’s portal. If you cannot open the portal on the console, ask the front desk or the property’s internet-support provider whether it can help connect the Switch.
4. Troubleshoot a portal or connection that fails
Marriott’s troubleshooting guidance, dated June 12, 2026, recommends trying these steps:
Rank #2
- 6.2” LCD screen
- Three play modes: TV, tabletop, and handheld
- Local co-op, online, and local wireless multiplayer
- Detachable Joy-Con controllers
- Nintendo Switch is the home of Mario & friends
- Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
- Forget the hotel network on the device, then reconnect.
- Open
marriottwifi.commanually in a browser to prompt the sign-in screen. - On a browser-capable device, allow pop-ups and temporarily disconnect a VPN.
- If the problem continues, contact the front desk or ask for the property’s dedicated internet-provider support number.
The browser-specific steps may not be available on the Switch itself. Marriott’s instructions are here; ask property support for help with a console or its connection method rather than assuming a workaround will work at every hotel.

5. Check whether the Switch supports the network
Nintendo lists support for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, 802.11b/g/n/ac modes, and WEP, WPA-PSK (AES) and WPA2-PSK (AES) security. A gray network name can indicate an unsupported security type. The property controls its network configuration, so contact its internet-support team if the SSID appears but the console reports incompatibility. See Nintendo’s connection guide and internet FAQ.

Other ways to get the Switch online
| Connection method | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Marriott guest Wi-Fi | Requires the property’s network and may require a separate portal sign-in. Contact the property if the portal cannot be completed on the console. |
| Mobile hotspot | Nintendo documents hotspot use as an internet option; connection quality can vary with signal strength. See Nintendo’s hotspot guidance. |
| Wired connection through a dock | Only an option when the property supports it and you have the required Ethernet equipment. Nintendo says a USB LAN adapter is needed for a Switch dock without a built-in LAN port. See its wired connection guide. |
Does Marriott Bonvoy membership affect in-room internet?
Marriott says complimentary in-room internet is available to Bonvoy members who book through qualifying Marriott channels, including Marriott.com, the Marriott Bonvoy app or Marriott customer engagement centers. Access type and speed—Standard or Enhanced—depend on membership tier or qualifying co-brand credit-card benefits. This does not mean that every property uses the same network name, speed or portal process. Marriott’s article is dated May 7, 2026: in-room internet access for Bonvoy members.
