CBS Sports’ “Nintendo Player Select: Angel Reese Sets Records” spotlights Reese’s 2026 season after she broke the WNBA single-season double-double record. Her milestones also included a record 26 rebounds in one game and, later, the first 500-rebound season in league history. “Nintendo Player Select” is the feature’s segment name; the available source does not establish a connection to a Nintendo game or product.
Why CBS Sports selected Angel Reese
The CBS Sports feature frames Reese’s selection around her breaking the WNBA single-season record for double-doubles. The listing identifies the feature and its focus, but does not provide additional detail about the segment’s format or any connection to Nintendo products. CBS Sports
How Reese’s records unfolded in 2026
August 24: a single-game rebound record and season mark
On August 24, Reese grabbed 26 rebounds in one game, which the Atlanta Dream’s September 1 release identifies as a WNBA single-game record. In that same game, she passed the previous single-season rebound mark of 451. The 26 is a one-game total; 451 was the previous season record, not a game total. Atlanta Dream’s September 1 release
By September 1: 29 double-doubles
The Dream’s September 1 report said Reese had recorded 29 double-doubles, then a new WNBA single-season record. A double-double means reaching at least 10 in two statistical categories in a game; the feature’s central season record is the number of such games, not the 26-rebound single-game mark.

In a September 25 update, the Dream reported that Reese became the first player in WNBA history to reach 500 rebounds in one season. The team also reported her final regular-season average of 12.3 rebounds per game, the league’s highest that season. These later figures update the season context beyond the earlier 451-rebound record she had passed in August. Atlanta Dream’s September 25 release
