Nintendo NEW YORK is a free-to-enter retail and interactive experience at Rockefeller Center. Most visitors can walk in without reserving a time; reservations or special entry rules apply mainly to scheduled events. The store sells Nintendo systems, accessories and themed merchandise, while returns require a receipt, an item in original condition and a 30-day deadline. Nintendo’s published store pages do not promise a general photography policy or list accessibility accommodations, so contact the store before traveling if either issue affects your visit.

Where is Nintendo NEW YORK?

Nintendo NEW YORK is located at 10 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10020, on 48th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The official store information identifies the B, D, F and M subway trains to the 47–50 Sts/Rockefeller Center station as the public-transit option.

Because the address is inside the Rockefeller Center complex, allow extra time to find the correct entrance and move through the surrounding pedestrian traffic. If you are meeting a group, use the complete street address rather than only “Rockefeller Center,” which covers a large area.

Do you need a reservation?

For an ordinary shopping or sightseeing visit, Nintendo says reservations are not typically required. You can generally arrive during posted store hours and join the normal entry flow. Nintendo does make an exception for special events, which can use reservations, timed entry, capacity limits or other instructions.

Nintendo Switch 2 System
  • The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
  • One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
  • Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
  • Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
  • GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play

Before leaving for the city, check the store’s current event listing and the @NintendoStoresUS social accounts. An event can change how guests enter even when the store is normally walk-in. If an event notice specifies a reservation, bring the confirmation and follow its stated arrival window; do not assume that a normal retail visit policy applies.

Ordinary visit versus special event

Visit type Reservation or pass Entry timing Rules to verify
Regular store visit Usually not required Arrive during the posted operating hours Current hours, temporary capacity controls and any same-day notices
Special event May be required Use the event’s assigned window or instructions Reservation confirmation, identification, queue procedure, photography terms and product limits

There are two practical differences to keep in mind. A normal visit is planned around the store’s regular opening and closing times, while an event may divide entry into windows or use a separate queue. Product availability can also differ: an event may impose purchase limits or offer event-specific merchandise, whereas a regular visit follows ordinary retail operations. Check all event instructions rather than relying on the standard walk-in policy.

Is Nintendo New York free?

There is no admission charge to visit the store. Nintendo’s retail-location FAQ states: No, there is no charge to visit the stores. You pay only for merchandise or other products you choose to buy. A special event can still have its own reservation or participation requirements, so “free admission” does not guarantee unrestricted entry to every programmed activity.

What are the current hours?

Nintendo’s listed hours, verified October 18, 2026, are:

Day Hours
Monday–Saturday 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
Sunday 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

These are the store’s published regular hours, not a promise that every date will operate normally. The same official page carries dated events, and event-day access can differ. Check the latest notice immediately before traveling, particularly for holidays, launches, signings or other high-demand activities.

If you are coordinating a group, build your meeting plan around the published opening time rather than arriving before the store is scheduled to open. For a return, also confirm that the store will be open during your intended trip; the 30-day deadline does not extend simply because a visit is inconvenient.

What can you do inside?

Nintendo describes the location as more than a conventional shop. Store ambassadors can explain Nintendo history in the Nintendo Showcase, guide visitors through interactive gaming areas and provide hands-on demonstrations. The demonstrations cover Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model and Nintendo Switch Lite.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Interactive areas may involve queues or capacity controls even when general admission is free. If a particular demonstration is the reason for your trip, ask an ambassador about the day’s schedule after entering rather than assuming every station is continuously available. The store’s showcase and demonstrations are part of the visitor experience, but they do not turn the location into a separately ticketed attraction.

Group visits

Schools, clubs, tour groups and other organized parties can ask about a group visit by emailing nintendonyc@noa.nintendo.com. Include your proposed date, approximate arrival time, group size and any questions about activities or entry. A group request is not the same as an individual reservation; wait for the store’s response before treating it as confirmed.

Ask the group contact whether the planned visit will coincide with an event. Event queues, capacity controls and photography rules can differ from a standard group arrival, so get those details in writing when possible.

What does the store sell?

The store promotes Nintendo Switch systems and accessories for current systems, along with themed collections such as My Mario, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda. Stock, colors, sizes and quantities can change during the day, especially around a launch or event.

Nintendo says other accessories and replacement parts can be ordered online, but the retail stores do not take online or telephone orders. Calling ahead can clarify a policy or accessibility question, but it does not create a phone purchase or reserve a product unless the store expressly announces such a service.

For shopping decisions, separate three questions: whether the item is currently stocked at the New York store, whether it is an accessory for a current system or a replacement part available online, and whether the purchase will remain eligible for the retail return policy. A console or accessory bought directly at the store is governed by the store’s receipt and condition requirements; an online order or purchase from another seller is not automatically covered by this in-store policy.

How do returns and exchanges work?

Nintendo’s retail return policy gives you 30 days from the original purchase date to return or exchange products bought directly from Nintendo New York or Nintendo San Francisco. The original sales receipt is required, and the item must be brought back to the same Nintendo store where it was purchased. Nintendo states: The original sales receipt is required for all returns and exchanges.

Eligibility checklist

  • Return within 30 days of the original purchase date.
  • Bring the original sales receipt.
  • Take the product to the Nintendo store that made the sale.
  • Keep the item unopened, unsealed and with all tags attached.
  • Return it in original condition with every part and included component.

Items the policy excludes

Not eligible Why it matters
Opened, unsealed or tag-removed merchandise The policy requires the product to remain in its original sale condition.
Used, damaged, incomplete or otherwise non-original-condition items Missing parts or wear can disqualify the return.
Purchases made somewhere else The retail policy applies to products bought directly from the named Nintendo stores.
Items taken to a different Nintendo store Returns must go to the store where the purchase occurred.
Digital items This includes games, downloadable content, subscriptions, download codes and physical products containing digital items.
Late returns The 30-day period runs from the original purchase date.
Gift cards Gift cards are expressly excluded.

Before you travel for a return

  1. Locate the purchase date and confirm that 30 days have not elapsed.
  2. Find the original receipt; a payment-card statement alone is not identified as a substitute.
  3. Check the seal, tags, packaging, included parts and physical condition.
  4. Go back to the same Nintendo store, not another Nintendo location.
  5. Tell the associate whether you are requesting a return or an exchange and keep any transaction paperwork you receive.

The policy covers both returns and exchanges, but it does not waive the same deadline, receipt, store-location and condition rules for an exchange. If the purchase includes a digital component, treat it as excluded even when a physical package is present. When in doubt, contact the store before making a long trip, but do not assume a phone call itself approves an exception.

Can you take photos or record video?

Nintendo’s published Nintendo NEW YORK pages do not state a general personal-photography or recording rule. They also do not promise that every display may be photographed. Ask a store employee before photographing merchandise, interactive areas, other visitors or event installations.

Event-specific terms can be stricter than ordinary retail practice. If photography is important to your visit, call (646) 459-0800 or email nintendonyc@noa.nintendo.com before arriving, and ask whether still photos, flash, tripods, livestreaming or video are allowed in the areas you want to use. Getting permission for one display or one day should not be treated as blanket permission for every event or future visit.

Is Nintendo New York wheelchair accessible?

The official Nintendo NEW YORK store pages reviewed do not publish an accessibility feature list, wheelchair route, seating information or sensory-accommodation policy. Do not assume that a route, entrance, fitting area or interactive station has a specific accommodation without confirmation.

Contact the store at (646) 459-0800 or nintendonyc@noa.nintendo.com before your visit. Explain the accommodation you need—such as step-free entry, an accessible restroom, seating, assistance reaching merchandise, service-animal questions or a quieter time—and ask what is available on your planned date. If you are attending an event, ask separately because its queue and entry setup may differ from a normal store visit.

Ask for current information rather than relying on an older social-media post or a general assumption about Rockefeller Center. Accessibility arrangements can depend on the route in use, temporary queues, interactive equipment and event layout. The store’s published pages do not provide enough detail to promise a particular feature.

How should you plan a first visit?

  1. Check the official listing. Confirm the address, regular hours and any dated event notice.
  2. Decide whether your visit is ordinary or event-based. A regular visit is usually walk-in; an event may require a reservation, timed window or other entry notice.
  3. Plan transit. Use the B, D, F or M trains to 47–50 Sts/Rockefeller Center and allow time to navigate the complex.
  4. Contact the store for special needs. Call or email about accessibility, photography, group arrangements or an event question.
  5. Set shopping expectations. The store sells promoted systems, current-system accessories and themed collections, but inventory is not guaranteed and retail stores do not accept phone or online orders.
  6. Keep purchase records. If a return may be necessary, preserve the receipt, packaging, seals, tags and every included component.

What should you confirm on the day of travel?

  • Verify that the regular hours still apply to your date.
  • Check whether a special event has introduced reservations, timed entry or capacity limits.
  • Use the full Rockefeller Plaza address and the listed B, D, F or M subway route.
  • Bring a reservation confirmation if an event requires one.
  • For a return, carry the original receipt and the complete, unopened item to the store where it was purchased.
  • Ask permission before photographing or recording.
  • Call or email ahead about wheelchair access or another accommodation that the published pages do not describe.
