NinjaOne describes Katana AI as an agentic assistant in its IT operations platform, while a separate NinjaOne RMM MCP server appears in the Official MCP Registry. The available evidence does not confirm that NinjaOne formally combines the two, that Katana AI uses the MCP server, or that they share data. NinjaOne’s version 15.0 release article lists Katana AI as an Early Access feature.

What is NinjaOne Katana AI?

NinjaOne describes Katana AI as “an agentic assistant built into NinjaOne that turns operational data into guided steps, helping resolve issues faster.” That is the company’s description of its intended role, not a quantified or independently measured improvement in resolution time. The assistant is presented as part of NinjaOne’s platform for IT teams and managed service providers, which the company describes as covering endpoint management, patching, backup, and remote access.

In its NinjaOne 15.0 release article, the company identifies Katana AI as an Early Access feature. The article also mentions other 15.0 developments, including dark mode, ticketing SLA tracking, Apple Declarative Device Management, and billing quotes; those are separate platform features, not capabilities attributed to Katana AI.

Is Katana AI available in NinjaOne?

The cited 15.0 article places Katana AI in Early Access and says customers can explore Early Access through their Account Manager. It does not establish general availability or eligibility for any particular customer account. Contact your NinjaOne Account Manager to confirm whether the feature is enabled for your organization and what access conditions apply.

What does the NinjaOne MCP server do?

The Official MCP Registry listing identifies an MCP server named io.github.wyre-technology/ninjaone-mcp for NinjaOne RMM. Its listed scope covers devices, organizations, alerts, and tickets. This describes the server’s stated coverage; it does not establish which actions it can perform, what permissions it requires, or how it handles audit logs and data.

A separate WYRE-AI GitHub repository documents a NinjaOne MCP server and provides third-party implementation and deployment information. The repository and registry listing establish activity around an MCP server, but neither establishes that NinjaOne authored, operates, supports, or endorses it.

Are Katana AI and the MCP server integrated?

The available sources do not confirm a formal integration, shared data path, or direct connection between Katana AI and the MCP server. They support two distinct statements: NinjaOne describes Katana AI as an in-platform assistant, and the registry lists a NinjaOne RMM MCP server. Treating those as one combined product or saying the MCP server accelerates Katana AI’s work would go beyond what the sources establish.

Aspect Katana AI NinjaOne RMM MCP server
What the source establishes NinjaOne describes an assistant that turns operational data into guided steps. The Official MCP Registry lists a server for NinjaOne RMM.
Stated scope Guided assistance for resolving issues; specific data sources and actions are not detailed in the cited release article. Devices, organizations, alerts, and tickets, according to the registry listing.
Availability or status Early Access in NinjaOne’s 15.0 release article. A registry listing establishes that the server is listed, not its support or availability terms.
Controls or permissions established NinjaOne says it includes role-based access controls and a kill switch; broader security and permission details are not stated in the cited article. Not stated in the registry evidence cited here.
Confirmed relationship between the two No formal combination or direct integration is established by the cited sources.

What IT teams should verify before relying on either feature

  • Katana AI access: Ask your Account Manager whether Early Access is available for your account and what feature scope applies.
  • MCP server ownership and support: Confirm who maintains the server, how it is distributed, and who handles updates and support. A registry listing alone does not answer these questions.
  • Permissions and actions: Establish which NinjaOne data the server can read and which actions, if any, it can take. Do not infer those details from the listed categories of devices, organizations, alerts, and tickets.
  • Security and auditability: Ask how access is authorized and logged, and what data is transmitted or retained. NinjaOne’s release article mentions role-based access controls and a kill switch for Katana AI but does not provide a broader security or data-governance assessment.
  • Integration status: If your intended workflow depends on Katana AI calling an MCP tool or using its data, seek direct confirmation from NinjaOne rather than assuming the products are connected.
