The Ninja Luxe Café Pro ES701 is a versatile, guided coffee machine that can make espresso, drip coffee, cold brew and hot water. Reviews report good results across its brew modes, though espresso may need grind adjustment. The Beckham limited edition costs more than the standard Pro in the UK price snapshot reviewed here, and its glossy gold finish is a matter of taste—not an upgrade to the machine’s brewing functions.
What the Ninja Luxe Café Pro does
The ES701 combines an integrated grinder with several ways to brew: espresso, drip coffee, cold brew and independent hot water. SharkNinja also lists Barista Assist guidance, a built-in tamper, a Dual Froth System Pro, an XL jug and a built-in scale. That makes it a broad one-machine setup, rather than an espresso-only machine. SharkNinja’s ES701 product page describes the marketed features.
It is not fully automatic: the machine assists with parts of preparation, but the owner still chooses settings and makes adjustments. Tech Advisor describes the ES701 as semi-automatic, with Barista Assist and hands-free frothing. Its review reports a 227 g bean hopper and says it preferred the physical controls and backlit display to touchscreen operation. Tech Advisor’s review is useful for understanding the workflow, but its two-month evaluation does not establish long-term reliability.

T3 reviewer Lee Bell used the Beckham edition daily for several weeks. He reports that the machine’s suggested grind setting was a starting point: going finer improved his espresso. He also found its filter coffee smooth and balanced, and says the cold-brew function produced concentrate in roughly 20 minutes. Those are one reviewer’s results, not a guarantee that every bean or setting will produce the same cup. Read T3’s review.

The practical takeaway is to treat Barista Assist as guidance rather than a substitute for dialing in. If an espresso tastes weak or under-extracted, the reviewer’s experience suggests trying a finer grind; keep other variables steady as you adjust so you can tell what changed. For drip coffee and cold brew, the review describes positive results, but it does not provide a controlled comparison against other machines.
Beckham edition versus standard Pro: what changes?
T3 describes the standard Pro and Beckham limited edition as functionally identical, with the difference being visual. Its UK price check put the black-and-gold Beckham edition at £879.99 and standard finishes at £729.99—a £150 gap in that review’s snapshot. The finish is a subjective reason to pay more, not evidence of a brewing upgrade. Bell found the gold trim too shiny for the intended premium look and criticized flexible plastic on parts such as the removable drip tray; he liked the wood-look handles. Those comments concern perceived finish and construction, not measured durability, and should not be applied automatically to every standard finish.

How it compares with the Premier and other machines
The Luxe Café Premier is the relevant lower-cost family alternative, while the Pro’s broader feature set and price premium make sense only if its particular modes and accessories matter to you. - Choose by drinks: check which brew modes you will actually use, especially if espresso, drip coffee and cold brew in one machine are the reason you are considering the Pro.
- Choose by workflow: decide whether guided settings and physical controls suit you better than a more manual process or a touchscreen-led interface.
- Choose by milk drinks: compare frothing features and serving capacity for the drinks and number of people you make coffee for.
- Choose by counter space and upkeep: account for the machine’s footprint, bean storage and room to use its accessories, not just its listed dimensions.
- Choose by ownership support: check warranty, service and replacement-part availability in your country before committing.
- Choose by finish: inspect the exact edition you can buy locally. The Beckham review’s criticism of shiny gold trim is not a verdict on every Pro colorway.
Size, power and regional version
The UK ES701 owner guide specifies a 2 L water tank, 1650 W power draw and 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz electrical supply. The US product page lists 120 V. These are regional specifications; use the guide and product details for the exact machine sold in your market, rather than assuming the UK electrical rating applies worldwide. T3 considered the machine relatively compact given its grinder, tamper, scale and frother, but that is a reviewer’s assessment rather than a substitute for measuring your counter. Check the product dimensions and clearance requirements for the regional listing before buying.

Who should buy it?
It is a good fit if
- You want one appliance that covers espresso, drip coffee, cold brew and hot water.
- You value guided preparation and built-in accessories, while remaining willing to adjust grind settings to suit your beans.
- You prefer the Pro’s finish enough to pay any local price premium over the standard model.
Consider another option if
- You will use only one brewing style and do not need the Pro’s range of modes.
- You want a specific premium material feel: the T3 reviewer’s concerns about flexible plastic and the gold finish may matter to you, though they do not establish durability.
- The Pro costs substantially more than the Premier or an alternative in your market, and the extra functions do not fit your routine.
For a care routine, the T3 review says the box includes cleaning tablets, descaling powder and a cleaning brush.
