The Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System CB402 is best suited to kitchens where one appliance needs to handle more than blending: it includes a main pitcher, single-serve cup, smoothie bowl, grinder and food-processing attachments. That breadth can replace several separate tools, but it also means more parts to store and assemble. For Australian and New Zealand buyers, check the exact CB402 or CB402ANZ configuration; performance testing cited below is for the US SS401, not this regional model.
What the CB402 includes
Ninja Australia describes the CB402 as a 1200 W system built around a SmartTORQUE motor base and a 2.1 L Power Blender & Processor Pitcher with a feed chute. The product page lists a 700 ml personal cup and a 530 ml smoothie bowl alongside attachments for blending, grinding and food preparation. See Ninja Australia’s CB402 product page.
- Pitcher attachments: stacked Total Crushing & Chopping blade, stacked dough blade, reversible slicing/shredding disc and grating disc.

The CB402ANZ owner’s guide lists a 1.9 L maximum liquid capacity for the 2.1 L pitcher. The bowl, cup and pitcher capacities serve different purposes; the pitcher’s stated 2.1 L size is not its maximum liquid fill. The guide also notes that the grating disc is not available with all models and that the Hybrid Edge blade assembly is not compatible with other Ninja products. The detailed independent testing available here is RTINGS’ review of the US SS401, a related but different model. It is useful evidence about the product family, not a direct CB402 test; regional configurations, electrical specifications, accessories, warranties and replacement-part fit can differ. Ice and frozen ingredients
RTINGS reports that the SS401 pulverized 12 ice cubes in under 30 seconds. That is a result from its test of the US model, not a CB402 performance guarantee. It suggests the system is well suited to ice-heavy drinks, but does not establish how the CB402 performs with every frozen recipe or load.
Single-serve versus large-batch smoothies
In RTINGS’ SS401 testing, the personal jar produced a smoother smoothie from fibrous ingredients in a small batch than the full pitcher did at large-batch capacity. The full pitcher was slow with fibrous ingredients; the reviewer had to stop and scrape the sides, and the finished blend was grainy. If your priority is consistently smooth, large batches using fibrous produce, those results are a reason to seek testing of the exact model and recipe size you use rather than assume the CB402 will match the smaller-jar result.

Nut butter and thick mixtures
RTINGS found the SS401’s 18 oz bowl maker effective for smooth nut butter when the built-in tamper was rotated. The CB402 package also includes a smoothie bowl with a built-in tamper, but the SS401 result should not be treated as a verified CB402 test. Thick mixtures are one of the more distinctive intended uses of this system’s bowl-and-tamper format.
Dough and food preparation
The CB402 package includes a stacked dough blade as well as reversible slicing/shredding and grating discs. These attachments broaden its role beyond drinks and frozen desserts: the feed chute and pusher support processing ingredients through the pitcher. The available independent testing does not establish how well the CB402 kneads dough or processes particular foods, so judge these capabilities from the included equipment rather than a claimed performance rating.

Hot blending and noise
RTINGS reports that the SS401 cannot hot blend and measured 95 dB at maximum speed. Both findings apply to its US SS401 test, not a CB402 measurement or specification. If you regularly blend hot soup directly in a jar, verify that a candidate is explicitly designed for hot blending. The SS401’s measured noise also indicates that quiet operation should not be assumed for the related model.
What ownership involves
A single motor base can serve several jobs, but the system is not a single-jar appliance. Switching between the pitcher, cup, bowl, grinder and processor discs means choosing the right container or blade, fitting it to the base, then storing the pieces that are not in use. Before buying, consider whether your cabinets or drawers can accommodate the attachments and whether you will actually use the slicing, grating, grinding and dough functions.

Cleanup likewise depends on the attachment used. RTINGS says the jars and blade assemblies of the SS401 are dishwasher-safe; that statement concerns the related US model, not a CB402-specific test. Follow the CB402ANZ guide for care instructions and safe handling. The guide’s model-specific incompatibility warning for the Hybrid Edge assembly is particularly relevant if you already own other Ninja equipment.

Who should consider the CB402?
A strong fit if you want several functions from one base
The CB402 makes the most sense if you plan to use a mix of blending, personal smoothies, thick bowl recipes, grinding, dough preparation and slicing or grating. Its appeal is the breadth of the included tools, not a proven claim that it outperforms standalone appliances at every job.
Look elsewhere if your priority is large, very smooth fibrous blends or hot soups
The available detailed tests are for SS401, so they cannot settle CB402 performance. Still, those tests raise specific questions for anyone making large batches of fibrous smoothies, and report no hot blending on the tested model. If those are your main needs, choose a blender with independent results for those exact tasks and confirm the exact regional model supports hot blending.
Check the space and workflow before buying
Think beyond the motor base: the pitcher, cup, bowl, grinder, blades and discs all need somewhere to live. The system is most valuable when its attachments are used often enough to justify the extra setup and cleanup.
Exact-model review evidence
CHOICE Australia has a page for the CB402 and labels it a “High performance blender, priced at $450.” Its detailed Expert Rating and pros and cons are member-only, and the page showed no retailer price links when accessed.
