The Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer AF400UK is a strong fit for households that want to cook two foods with different settings and have them finish together. Its two 4.75 L drawers provide 9.5 L total capacity, but the large unit may be difficult to accommodate on a crowded counter. Published dimensions also conflict substantially, so confirm the measurements for the exact model before buying.
What the AF400UK offers
The AF400UK is a UK-market air fryer with two independently controlled 4.75 L drawers. SharkNinja lists six cooking functions: Air Fry, Max Crisp, Roast, Bake, Dehydrate and Reheat. The appliance can also be used with just one drawer.
Each drawer is stated by SharkNinja to hold up to 1.4 kg of fries or a 2 kg chicken. These are manufacturer capacity claims; the amount that cooks well at once will depend on the food and how it is arranged. How the two zones work
The main advantage over a single-basket fryer is the ability to give each drawer a different cooking task. Set separate temperatures, functions or times for two foods, then use SYNC to coordinate their finish. For example, one drawer can roast a main while the other air-fries a side, with both scheduled to be ready together.

MATCH applies the same settings to both drawers, which is useful when making a larger quantity of the same food. These controls add flexibility, but they do not eliminate the need to check food and adjust cooking as needed.
Capacity compared with the AF300UK
SharkNinja lists the AF400UK at 9.5 L total, compared with 7.6 L for the AF300UK, and describes the difference as up to 25% more capacity. That makes the AF400UK the larger-capacity choice on the manufacturer’s stated figures. Capacity alone does not establish which model will fit a kitchen: reliable, comparable external measurements matter too.

Size, weight and counter fit
There is a substantial discrepancy in published dimensions. SharkNinja lists 51.79 × 42.19 × 41.91 cm, while Woman & Home lists 32.5 × 41.5 × 27 cm and a weight of 8.8 kg. SharkNinja lists the weight as 11.5 kg. The available figures do not establish a definitive footprint, so do not rely on one measurement when planning a tight space.

Cooking speed and running-cost claims
SharkNinja says the AF400UK can cook up to 75% faster than fan ovens, based on a comparison using fish fingers and sausages that included preheating. That result is specific to the foods and comparison described; it does not establish that every meal or oven will produce the same time saving.
The manufacturer also claims up to 65% energy-bill savings, calculated by comparing the recommended sausage cooking time on the air-fry function with conventional ovens. This limited comparison is not a forecast of a household’s total bill or savings across different foods and cooking habits. SharkNinja’s claim of up to 75% less fat is based on deep-fried hand-cut French fries, not a general measure for every food or preparation method. The product page does not state a publication year for these comparisons.

Cleaning, guarantee and replacement drawers
SharkNinja describes the parts as dishwasher-safe; use the manufacturer’s instructions and instruction booklet for care guidance. A B&Q listing contradicts itself by saying the drawers are dishwasher-safe while also labelling the product “Not dishwasher safe,” so its blanket label is not a reliable substitute for the appliance instructions.

The manufacturer also lists replacement drawers: left drawer model 4412CY400EUUK and right drawer model 4413CY400EUUK. Who should buy the AF400UK?
- Consider it if you regularly prepare a main and side with different cooking requirements, want them ready together, or need the option to cook a larger quantity of one dish using MATCH.
- Check carefully first if counter space is limited; the published dimensions and weights disagree, so verify the exact unit’s measurements before purchase.
- Look elsewhere if you mainly cook small portions, want a touch screen, or do not need separate cooking zones. The AF400UK’s extra capacity is less useful when its footprint is a poor fit.
Woman & Home named the AF400UK its best overall air fryer in a test-kitchen roundup that included chips and nuggets, bacon and vegetables. Its assessment praised cooking flexibility and dishwasher-safe elements while noting size, price and the lack of a touch screen. Those findings belong to that publisher’s testing and review, not to independent testing performed for this article.
Verdict
The AF400UK’s defining benefit is practical: two large, independent drawers, with SYNC for different foods that should finish together and MATCH for a larger amount of one food. Its 9.5 L capacity and six functions make it versatile for larger meals, but the appliance takes up substantial space, and its conflicting published dimensions make fit worth verifying before purchase. Treat speed and energy figures as narrowly scoped manufacturer comparisons rather than promises about everyday cooking or household bills.
