Standalone financial performance

Income increased, but the company still lost money

Standalone total income rose from ₹40.49 crore in FY2025 to ₹42.14 crore in FY2025–26, an increase of ₹1.65 crore. That improvement did not produce a standalone profit: reported profit after tax was a ₹12.13 crore loss, only slightly narrower than the ₹12.75 crore loss in FY2025.

Most standalone income came from other income

The FY2025–26 standalone statement shows ₹1.47 crore of revenue from operations and ₹40.68 crore of other income. In other words, the ₹42.14 crore total-income figure should not be read as ₹42.14 crore of contracting or operating sales. The composition matters when assessing the underlying activity of the parent company.

Consolidated financial performance

Group revenue was more than five times standalone income

The directors-report reproduction gives consolidated revenue from operations of ₹228.7562 crore and consolidated other revenues of ₹12.8844 crore, producing total consolidated revenue of ₹241.6406 crore. This is substantially larger than the ₹42.14 crore standalone total-income figure because consolidation captures the wider group and the associated or jointly controlled interests described in the directors report.

Profit turned into a large loss

Market-data reporting places FY2026 consolidated sales at about ₹229 crore and the consolidated net loss at about ₹88 crore. That reverses an approximately ₹64 crore consolidated net profit in FY2025. The directors-report reproduction separately records consolidated total expenses of ₹291.2709 crore, materially above the reported total revenue of ₹241.6406 crore.

The sales increase therefore did not translate into earnings. Revenue scale and profitability moved in opposite directions: the group generated roughly ₹229 crore of operating sales, yet the bottom line swung from profit to a substantial loss.

Why standalone and consolidated results look so different

Standalone accounts

Standalone accounts describe Nimbus Projects Limited as the individual parent company. They show the parent’s own income, expenses, assets and liabilities. For FY2025–26, that view contains only ₹1.47 crore of operating revenue and reports a ₹12.13 crore loss after tax.

Consolidated accounts

Consolidated accounts combine the parent with the subsidiaries and include the associated or jointly controlled interests covered by the group reporting framework. They are the more relevant view of the economic scale represented by the group: ₹241.6406 crore of total revenue and ₹291.2709 crore of expenses in the directors-report figures.

Comparing ₹42.14 crore standalone income directly with approximately ₹229 crore consolidated sales without identifying the accounting perimeter can make the company appear internally inconsistent. The two numbers answer different questions and should be read on separate axes: parent-only performance versus group performance.

What explains the FY2026 loss?

The available reported tables establish the reversal, but they do not provide a sufficiently clear, named management explanation that assigns the loss to one specific cause. It would be unsafe to state that a particular project, investment, financing item or subsidiary caused the decline without a supporting disclosure.

Analytically, the combination of higher sales and a loss can be consistent with sharply higher project costs, provisions, finance costs, losses in consolidated entities, investment-related write-downs, or other consolidation adjustments. These are possible mechanisms, not confirmed explanations from management. The expense total of ₹291.2709 crore shows that the cost base was far above consolidated total revenue, but the figures supplied here do not disaggregate the entire swing into those individual drivers.

How to read the results as an investor

  1. Start with the reporting perimeter. Use standalone numbers to evaluate the parent and consolidated numbers to evaluate the group.
  2. Separate operating revenue from other income. The standalone ₹42.14 crore total includes ₹40.68 crore of other income, while operating revenue was only ₹1.47 crore.
  3. Check revenue and costs together. Consolidated sales of about ₹229 crore do not indicate profitability when consolidated expenses reached ₹291.2709 crore.
  4. Look for the detailed reconciliation. The next annual report or exchange filing should be checked for segment results, exceptional items, finance costs, tax, provisions and subsidiary-level losses.
  5. Use the latest filing before making a decision. Annual reports can be amended, and market-data pages may round figures or use FY2026 for the year legally reported as FY2025–26.

Bottom line on Nimbus Projects’ yearly earnings

Nimbus Projects’ FY2025–26 picture is mixed only on revenue: standalone income edged up and consolidated sales were substantial, but profitability deteriorated severely. The parent remained loss-making with a ₹12.13 crore standalone PAT loss, while the consolidated group moved from an approximately ₹64 crore profit in FY2025 to an approximately ₹88 crore loss in FY2026. Until a filing gives a clear breakdown of the cost, financing, investment and consolidation effects, the safest conclusion is that the group’s earnings reversal is confirmed but its precise management-attributed cause is not.
