Withings now requires accounts created after October 13, 2026, to subscribe to Withings+ before exporting Withings data to Apple Health, Health Connect, and other partner apps. The US price is $99.50 per year (often rounded to “$99/year”), or $9.95 per month. Accounts created before the cutoff keep free partner-app export.
What changed on October 13, 2026
Withings says the Withings+ requirement went live at 00:00 UTC on October 13, 2026. The company is continuing its AI Connector rollout over approximately two weeks, so the paywall may appear for users at different times during that period.
At the export step, a new account choosing “Export health data to [Partner Name]” is told that Withings+ is required. The rule covers Apple Health, Health Connect, and other supported partner applications.
Withings says this is not retroactive. Accounts that already existed before October 13, 2026, retain free export access, whether or not their owners subscribe.

The requirement is tied to the account-creation cutoff described by Withings, not to a universal change affecting every Withings owner. Because the rollout is staged, a qualifying new account may not see the subscription prompt immediately.

The $99.50 figure is the precise annual US price; “$99/year” is a rounded shorthand. The listed amounts apply after the applicable trial or included month ends.

How Apple Health syncing works
Paying for Withings+ does not make the transfer fully automatic. Withings says an iOS restriction prevents automatic syncing in both directions. Its documented process is:

- Open the Withings App.
- Open Apple Health from within the app.
- Return to the Withings App.
- Swipe down from the top of the Home tab to force a refresh.
Repeat those steps whenever you want the latest data transferred. Withings also states that steps entered manually in Apple Health, or steps imported into Apple Health from another activity tracker, are not imported into Withings.
What remains free without Withings+
New users are not locked out of their own measurements. Withings says they can still view their data directly and download or share a PDF without paying. The subscription requirement concerns exporting data to partner applications.

For an existing account created before the cutoff, partner-app export remains free as well. That grandfathered access continues even if the account holder chooses not to subscribe.
Which connectors are covered?
Withings says all partner apps are integrated with its AI Connector except Strava. The company does not make or support unofficial community connectors and identifies its official AI Connector as the only connector it maintains.

That distinction matters if you are considering a workaround: an unofficial connector may not be supported by Withings, while the official export path for a qualifying new account requires Withings+.

Subscribe when partner-app export is essential
Withings+ is the documented route for sending data from a post-cutoff account to Apple Health, Health Connect, or another supported partner app. Include the recurring $9.95 monthly or $99.50 annual charge in the cost of using that workflow, and remember that Apple Health still requires a manual refresh routine.
Skip it when direct access or PDFs are enough
If you only need to inspect Withings measurements in the Withings App or occasionally share a report, the free direct-access and PDF options avoid the subscription. They do not provide the same automated destination as Apple Health or another partner app.
Keep an older account when that access matters
Users with accounts created before October 13, 2026, retain free export, so creating a separate new account could remove a benefit the older account still has. Before changing accounts, check which account stores your historical measurements and which one is connected to your devices.
