REDMAGIC has launched the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ gaming phone in China with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a second REDMAGIC R5 gaming chipset and a full-screen AMOLED display rated for up to 185Hz. The October 2026 launch currently has confirmed Chinese prices only; a global release date and international pricing have not been confirmed.
What launched and where
Independent launch coverage from Notebookcheck, published October 15, 2026, identifies the China flagship as the REDMAGIC 12 Pro Plus (12 Pro+). REDMAGIC’s own launch page uses the shorter “REDMAGIC 12 Pro” name and promotes a November 3 launch event, so regional naming may differ. The available launch information confirms China availability, while a worldwide rollout remains expected but unannounced.
Performance hardware
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and R5 gaming chipset
The phone is among the first devices announced with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. REDMAGIC pairs the system-on-chip with its R5 Gaming Chipset, describing the combination as intended to provide faster, more efficient high-performance gaming. The launch material does not include independent benchmark results, so the specifications should not be treated as proof of a particular frame rate or performance advantage over another phone.
Cooling for sustained play
REDMAGIC’s thermal design combines an upgraded turbo fan, a vapor chamber and Liquid Metal 4.0 in a dual-loop liquid-cooling system. Notebookcheck reports a maximum active-fan speed of 25,500 revolutions per minute. Cinco Días describes the system as ICE Cooling and reports IP68/IP69 protection. Those ratings concern resistance to dust and water under their applicable test conditions; they do not make the phone immune to every form of liquid or physical damage.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
185Hz OLED display specifications
The centerpiece is a 6.85-inch BOE X11 OLED panel with a 2,688 × 1,216 resolution. REDMAGIC specifies a maximum 185Hz refresh rate, while Cinco Días reports touch response of up to 5,000Hz, 10-bit color, 1,900 nits of global brightness and peak brightness up to 5,000 nits.
A 185Hz mode can make supported games and fast scrolling appear smoother than 120Hz or 144Hz panels, but applications and games must support the higher rate, and using it can increase power consumption. The 5,000Hz figure is a touch-response specification rather than a display refresh rate; it does not mean the image redraws 5,000 times per second.

Battery, charging and gaming controls
8,400mAh battery and bypass charging
The phone has an 8,400mAh battery. Reported charging support includes 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging, plus bypass charging. Bypass charging can route power directly to the phone during gaming instead of repeatedly cycling the battery, which is useful for long sessions, although actual charging times depend on the supplied or compatible charger, temperature and regional accessories.
Shoulder buttons, audio and camera placement
Notebookcheck reports 700Hz shoulder buttons for mapped in-game controls, RGB lighting, an under-display selfie camera and Dolby Audio dual speakers. Shoulder-button response, speaker quality and the effectiveness of the under-display camera require hands-on testing; the launch specifications alone do not establish image quality or latency in real games.

China configurations and prices
Notebookcheck lists these confirmed China prices:

|---|---|
| 12GB RAM / 256GB storage | CNY 6,499 |

Cinco Días reports additional China configurations, but the supplied launch coverage does not establish a complete price list for every variant. The figures above are China launch prices, not converted retail prices for other countries. No global MSRP, shipping date, Amazon listing or warranty terms are confirmed yet.
What is confirmed about a global launch
A global rollout was expected in the coverage from Cinco Días, but neither that report nor the available REDMAGIC announcement provides a confirmed international launch date, country list or price. Buyers outside China should wait for a regional announcement before assuming that a Chinese model will have local network bands, software services, charger standards, warranty coverage or after-sales support.

How the phone compares on paper
The 12 Pro+’s headline advantages are its unusually high 185Hz refresh ceiling, 5,000Hz touch-response claim, large 8,400mAh battery, active fan and dedicated shoulder controls. A meaningful comparison with another gaming phone still requires checking sustained performance under heat, software-update policy, camera quality, warranty, regional availability and tested battery life. The launch information provides no independent benchmark or long-session thermal test, so those categories remain open.
