Rockstar Games published an official Grand Theft Auto VI launch-trailer page on October 15, 2026, giving players another sanctioned look at the most anticipated game of the year. The launch remains set for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What the new GTA 6 trailer confirms
The October 15 launch-trailer release is the latest formal video update in Rockstar’s promotional campaign. Rockstar has not published a complete scene-by-scene account of the launch trailer in the material available for this announcement, so individual moments should not be treated as confirmed until the company identifies them.
The trailer arrives ahead of the November 19 launch and follows Rockstar’s earlier official footage, including Trailer 2. That footage was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, combining gameplay and cutscenes. It introduced the central setup around Jason and Lucia, an easy score that goes wrong, and a criminal conspiracy extending across the fictional state of Leonida.

Story and setting shown in Rockstar’s earlier footage
Rockstar describes Jason and Lucia as people who already know “the deck is stacked against them.” After their planned score fails, they end up on “the darkest side of the sunniest place in America” and must rely on each other to survive. The setting includes Vice City, USA, within the wider Leonida region.

That description establishes the broad premise without confirming every mission, character relationship or gameplay system. Claims about specific plot twists, activities or mechanics should therefore be treated as speculation unless Rockstar confirms them.

Standard and Ultimate Editions
Rockstar is offering two editions in both digital and physical formats. The choice is mainly between the base game and additional in-game content.

Does the physical copy include a disc?
No. Rockstar says the physical box contains a download code and does not include a disc. Physical copies are expected to ship or become available for pickup from November 12, allowing buyers to obtain the code before launch and prepare for the preload period.
Because the package is code-based, you will need an internet connection, sufficient storage and the correct console account to redeem and download the game. Check the retailer’s listing for the exact box contents in your region.

Preordering, bonuses and preload timing
Digital preorders or purchases made before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. Digital preload begins at local midnight on November 12, seven days before release.
- Choose the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version that matches your console.
- Select Standard or Ultimate Edition based on whether you want the listed bonus content.
- For a digital purchase, confirm that the account’s country and store region are correct.
- For a physical purchase, verify that the box contains a download code rather than a disc.
- Redeem the code or complete the digital purchase, then start the download when preload opens at local midnight on November 12.
- Launch the game on November 19, when the release becomes available.
Regional code restrictions apply. Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer that matches the country of your platform account, since a code from another market may not redeem on your account.
What the trailer means for prospective buyers
The new launch-trailer page is a marketing milestone, not a change to the announced schedule. The facts buyers can act on are the November 19 release date, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S support, November 12 preload timing, and the distinction between Standard and Ultimate content. The physical option is convenient for shoppers who want a boxed purchase, but it still requires a digital download because no disc is included.
