Graphics configuration
“Up to RTX 5090 Laptop GPU” describes the top configuration in the product family, not every GU606 sold by every retailer. A listing that says only “Zephyrus G16” may contain a lower GPU tier. ASUS lists the GU606 at 1.85kg. That is relatively light for a 16-inch performance laptop, but weight alone does not predict sustained gaming speed. Cooling capacity, the GPU’s total graphics power and the selected performance profile determine how long the RTX 5090 can maintain high clocks.

Why 240Hz does not mean 240 frames per second
A 240Hz panel can display a new frame every 4.17 milliseconds, but the laptop must render those frames first. Actual frame rates vary with the game, resolution, ray-tracing features, image-quality settings, cooling, power mode and the particular RTX 5090 implementation. Competitive games at reduced settings are more likely to approach very high frame rates than demanding titles at native 2560×1600 with maximum ray tracing.
When a game renders below 240 frames per second, the display still operates correctly; it simply cannot show 240 unique rendered frames each second. Variable-refresh support such as the G-SYNC support specified for the ASUS panel can help synchronize refresh behavior with fluctuating frame rates.
