How long is the Nekome demo?
The most precise answer is 25 stages. ProbablyMonsters’ Steam announcement describes the objective as: “Your job is simple: survive 25 increasingly brutal stages and set the highest score you can.” That is a stage count, not a promise that a complete run will take a particular number of hours.

Why there is no reliable hour estimate
The announcement does not state an average run time, a first-playthrough duration or a target number of minutes per stage. Converting the stage count into an invented number of hours would be misleading, especially for a survival mode in which failure, retries and score optimization are central. A player who reaches the final stage once is having a different experience from someone who repeatedly replays early stages to improve a leaderboard result.
What “25 stages” means in practice
Think of the demo as a finite combat gauntlet rather than a short excerpt of a linear story campaign. Progression is organized into stages, and the challenge rises as you move forward. Your practical stopping point may be the end of a successful run, an attempt to beat a personal score or a decision to stop after learning the systems. None of those outcomes has an official duration attached to it.
If you need to plan a session, allow enough uninterrupted time for a run and for retries, but treat that as a personal scheduling choice rather than a developer-backed completion figure. The only published scope number is the 25-stage structure.

Stealth, brawling and gunplay
The combat design is not limited to one approach. Stealth gives you a way to avoid or control encounters, brawling covers close-quarters fighting and gunplay provides a ranged option. The sources do not specify how stages require you to combine these approaches, so do not assume that every stage has a particular mandatory solution.

Improvised weapons
Improvised weapons are part of the advertised feature set. Their exact types, damage values, durability and availability are not listed in the announcement. Treat them as tools within the survival sandbox rather than as a published equipment catalogue.
Skills unlocked during progression
New skills unlock as you progress. The announcement does not publish a skill tree, unlock order or respec rules. This means the demo has a progression layer even though the available material does not define every upgrade.

Setting and beating scores is one of the mode’s explicit goals. That makes replay value part of the design: finishing all available stages is not necessarily the only reason to return. The announcement does not explain whether scores are local, tied to Steam leaderboards or retained in another way, so leaderboard behavior should be checked in the live build.

The demo and the planned full game must be treated as separate availability questions.

SteamDB identifies Windows as the supported system for the separate demo app. The full game’s planned console targets do not establish a PS5 or Xbox demo. Likewise, a PlayStation store listing for the planned full release should not be read as evidence that the Windows demo can be installed on a console.

How to find and install the Windows demo
- Open the Steam client on a Windows PC and sign in to the account you will use for the installation.
- Search the Steam store for “Nekome: Nazi Hunter Demo,” checking that you are selecting the standalone demo rather than the unreleased full-game listing.
- Open the demo’s store page and choose the install or add-to-library control shown during the event window.
- Select an available Windows drive, confirm the installation and wait for Steam to finish downloading the app.
- Launch it from your Steam library. If the app does not appear, search the library for the demo’s exact title rather than searching only for “Nekome.”
The advertised free access period is October 19–26, 2026, while SteamDB lists 17:00 UTC on October 19 for the app release. Store visibility and regional event timing can differ, so a page that is not downloadable before that release time is not proof that the demo is missing permanently.
Is the demo easy or hard?
The published description characterizes the 25 stages as “increasingly brutal” or increasingly challenging. That supports a clear conclusion about the intended curve: later stages are expected to demand more than earlier ones. It does not establish a numeric difficulty rating or a selectable Easy, Normal or Hard mode.
No confirmed difficulty menu
The available demo information does not list selectable difficulty settings. Adjustable difficulty appears in an accessibility listing for the planned full game, but that feature cannot be back-projected onto the demo. Until the demo’s own menus are visible, assume only that the mode has a built-in escalating challenge.
How to prepare for the difficulty curve
- Use early stages to learn stealth, melee and firearm controls before relying on them under pressure.
- Experiment with improvised weapons when the game presents them; their role is part of the advertised design, even though their statistics are not published.
- Expect skills to unlock during progression and reassess your approach after each unlock.
- Separate survival attempts from score attempts. A safe run and a high-score run may reward different decisions.

Does the demo save progress?
No currently available official information confirms how the demo handles saves. In particular, it does not say whether the game records completed stages between sessions, resumes an unfinished run, stores only scores, or resets progress when you close the app.

What is also unknown
- Whether a stage unlock remains available after restarting the demo.
- Whether scores are stored locally, on Steam leaderboards or through another service.
- Whether cloud saving is supported.
- Whether any demo progression, skills or scores carry into the Q1 2027 full game.
Do not assume that a Steam demo automatically shares saves with the future release. A standalone demo app can use its own save data, and the full game has not yet been released to define a transfer system.
What to do when the demo is live
- Complete one stage, exit through the game’s normal menu and relaunch it.
- Check whether the next stage, unlocked skill or best score remains available.
- Look for a save, cloud or leaderboard option in the in-game menus and in the Steam properties for the demo.
- If progress disappears, record the exact sequence and consult the demo’s current Steam documentation or support discussion before assuming the behavior is a bug.
This simple test can tell you whether the build resumes local progress, but it cannot establish transfer to the full game unless the developer publishes a separate statement.

Can I play it on PlayStation 5 or Xbox?
There is no confirmation of a console demo. PS5 and Xbox are listed as planned platforms for the full game, while the demo listing identifies Windows.
Does reaching stage 25 mean I have finished the full game?
No. Stage 25 is the advertised endpoint of the Horde of the Reich demo mode. It is not a campaign-length statement for the planned release.
Will the demo be available after October 26, 2026?

Use the support or discussion channel provided on the demo’s live Steam page. Include your Windows version, the stage reached, whether the app was restarted, and what data remained. Those details are more useful than reporting only that a run “did not save.”
