The NEEWER AS600C is a 600W RGB COB studio light aimed at production setups that need both substantial output and flexible color and control options. NEEWER claims up to 56,000 lux at 1 m with its standard reflector at 5200K, but that is a manufacturer figure, not an independent test result. Its broad feature set may suit a large studio or coordinated lighting workflow; whether it is worth the price depends on your modifiers, control needs, space and regional cost.
What the AS600C offers
NEEWER describes the AS600C as a 600W RGB COB studio video light. Its published specifications combine variable color temperature, green-magenta adjustment, dimming, preset effects and multiple control methods. That makes it more than a fixed-color key light on paper, though specifications alone do not establish how it performs in a real setup.
How to interpret its brightness claim
NEEWER’s US product page claims a maximum of 56,000 lux at 1 m at 5200K with the standard reflector. NEEWER Canada lists 21,000 lux at 1 m without the reflector. These figures describe different accessory conditions and should not be treated as a direct comparison of the light in an identical configuration. They are manufacturer claims, not independently verified measurements.
The rated output is 600W, while the listed power input is 720W. NEEWER also lists AC 100–240V and DC 60V/12A input specifications. For practical planning, check that your power arrangement and support equipment suit the setup you intend to run.

Color, dimming and effects
- Color temperature: 2500K–7500K.
- Green-magenta adjustment: -50 to +50, according to NEEWER.
- Dimming: 0–100% in 0.1% increments, as described on the product page.
- Color ratings: CRI 95+ and TLCI 98+ in NEEWER Canada’s specifications.
- Effects and sources: NEEWER lists 17 effects and 16 light sources.
These specifications indicate a wide range of stated adjustments, but they do not establish color consistency across output levels or modes, or how accurately the light matches another fixture in practice.
Control and positioning
NEEWER lists onboard display control, DMX, its app or Control Center, and 2.4G grouping for lights on the same channel. DMX can be useful when a lighting setup is managed from a console; app or onboard controls may be more relevant for a standalone fixture. The 2.4G grouping description is specifically tied to lights sharing a channel.

The light has a 360-degree U bracket for positioning and a standard Bowens mount for compatible modifiers. NEEWER lists fan settings as high, medium and silent, but does not provide decibel levels or establish how audible the light is in a particular recording environment. No independent noise or thermal measurements are established in the cited product materials.

NEEWER’s listed package contents include the light, controller box, power cord, reflector, honeycomb grid, U bracket, protective cover, controller cable, steel wire, super clamp and trolley case. The included reflector can be used without buying a softbox; a Bowens-mount softbox or other modifier is an optional way to shape the light.

NEEWER lists the lamp body at 5 kg (11 lb) and the control box at 3.74 kg (8.2 lb). Account for both units and the chosen support when planning placement and transport.
Who should consider the AS600C?
NEEWER positions the fixture for larger studios and production work, including film, television, broadcast, streaming, podcast recording and photography. Its stated output and color/control options are most relevant if you need a powerful COB source, want RGB and variable-white adjustments, or expect to integrate the light into a DMX or grouped setup.

It may be more than you need if your work does not use the color range, effects, DMX or multi-light controls. The useful question is not simply whether 600W sounds sufficient: consider your room size, shooting distance, modifier choice, power setup and whether the fixture’s control options fit the way you work.
Price and availability vary by region
NEEWER’s US page has shown a different price and stock status from its Canadian page, and the US listing says prices vary by location. Those page details can change, so check the live listing for your region before deciding. The available product-page snapshots do not establish a universal price or reliable current stock position.

How it compares with other NEEWER fixtures
NEEWER’s catalog lists the AS600B, a bi-color 600W fixture, and the FS600C, an RGB 600W fixture, alongside the AS600C. The catalog confirms these alternatives exist but does not provide a controlled performance comparison or a basis for ranking them.
To compare options for your setup, look for evidence on the same practical criteria:
- Measured output at the same distance with the same reflector or modifier.
- Color modes and tuning range that match your workflow.
- Control compatibility, including DMX and grouping requirements.
- Noise and thermal behavior under sustained use.
- Mount, included accessories and transport needs.
- Current regional price and warranty terms.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you
The cited specifications and feature descriptions come from NEEWER’s US and Canadian product pages. They establish what the manufacturer lists, not independent performance results. No independent AS600C measurements or controlled comparisons with the AS600B, FS600C or other 600W fixtures are established here. That absence is a limit on what can be concluded; it is not proof that the light performs either well or poorly.
