The NEES Python SDK is a client for selected, public application-integration contracts—not a package containing the NEES Core Engine or its governance runtime. It lets a trusted backend make documented requests and handle public-safe results; the server-side Core evaluates supported paths and returns outcomes such as allow, clarify, escalate, or block. Your application remains responsible for following the outcome and performing its own business operations.

What the SDK is for

NEES describes Core Engine V2 as a runtime governance layer positioned between an incoming request and a supported model, tool, or API path. The application supplies request context, the Core evaluates the supported path, and the application follows the returned decision. The SDK is the client boundary for that integration; it does not distribute the runtime or expose all of its internal controls. NEES overview

The publisher says the Core runtime stays server-side and API credentials belong on a trusted backend. That boundary matters: the SDK is not a browser-side shortcut for exposing credentials, nor does installing it give an application the governance engine itself. NEES SDK page

What nees-core-sdk 0.2.0 documents

The package-specific PyPI listing describes version 0.2.0 as a synchronous Python client for public integration contracts, supporting Python 3.9 and later. Remote endpoints require HTTPS. Its documented surface includes:

  • API-key-scoped chat requests.
  • Optional session-memory read and reset, where the account or integration has that capability.
  • Safe chat evidence.
  • Core-owned governed action submission, resumption, and evidence.
  • Participation in an application-owned external-action lifecycle.

Session-memory access is capability-gated; its presence in the package description does not mean every integration is entitled to use it. For method-level details, consult the version-specific PyPI listing for nees-core-sdk 0.2.0.

What remains outside the client boundary

The package describes typed responses restricted to public-safe fields. Unknown or private server fields are ignored rather than treated as part of the public contract. The documented SDK does not provide access to:

  • API-key or service administration.
  • Policy or authority stores.
  • Raw diagnostics or private audit data.
  • Replay or simulation controls.
  • Database or runtime controls.
  • The Core implementation, proprietary algorithms, or internal architecture.

This is a deliberate separation between stable integration contracts and internal capabilities. Founder Piyush Jambhulkar said the goal was to expose public contracts gradually rather than turn every internal capability into an API before it was ready. NEES launch commentary

Who performs the eventual action?

The SDK can participate in a governance and authorization boundary, but it does not execute application business logic. For a Core-owned governed action, the client can submit or resume the documented flow and retrieve its public evidence. For an external action owned by the application, the application still performs the real operation—such as calling its own service—after it receives and handles the relevant governance outcome. NEES describes governance as applying to supported paths, not as control over arbitrary application code or every external system. PyPI package listing NEES overview

That distinction also limits what a governance decision proves: it is a result for the supported request path and context, not a substitute for the application’s own implementation of authentication, authorization, infrastructure security, or secure coding. NEES positions its layer as a complement to those protections, not a replacement. NEES overview

Which version description should developers trust?

The official homepage still describes SDK version 0.1.1 as exposing authenticated chat only, while the package-specific PyPI page for 0.2.0 documents the broader capabilities listed above. These descriptions are not synchronized. For current method-level capabilities, use the versioned 0.2.0 package listing rather than treating the homepage’s 0.1.1 wording as current. Access, preview status, and validation claims

NEES describes the SDK and Governance Lab as public developer-preview resources, but API credentials are issued separately for approved integrations. The publisher says commercial plans have not been published. Its terms, effective 24 September 2026, state that public website access does not automatically grant private API or production access; API access may be reviewed, limited, suspended, or revoked. The terms also say public documentation and examples do not grant rights to the Core implementation or service-side technology. NEES terms NEES homepage

The homepage reports an engineering snapshot of 1,626 PostgreSQL-enabled tests passed, 29/29 governance benchmark, 26/26 environment benchmark, and 0 supported unauthorized effects, attributed to Nainacore Emotional Tech in 2026. NEES says the validation applies to the current supported release scope. These are publisher-reported results, not independent certification and not evidence that every third-party deployment or unsupported path has the same properties. NEES homepage

The same page labels an RC1 governance assurance checkpoint “VERIFIED / GREEN” and calls it an independent assessment, but does not identify the assessor or link an assessment report. The label alone is not a basis for claiming general certification.
