To open the Necrofluid Gauntlet cube in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies, charge the Aether Barrel at Ashwood, Blackwater Lake, and Vandorn Farm, then deliver it to the cube beneath the Vandorn Farm barn. Launch from the Janus Towers Plaza jump pad, record the red symbols on the barn, silo, and farmhouse roofs, set those symbols on the cube’s three non-eye faces, and activate the eye. The symbols change every match. After the cube opens, complete the lockdown by shooting the green targets with the Gauntlet’s barb and recalling it with reload.
What the Necrofluid Gauntlet puzzle requires
The puzzle is part of the Ashes of the Damned Zombies map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Its objective is to open a strange cube in the cellar below the Vandorn Farm barn and claim the Necrofluid Gauntlet. The cube will not accept the rooftop code until the Aether Barrel has been processed at all three required locations.
You need to complete these stages in the same match:
- Process the Aether Barrel at Ashwood.
- Process it at Blackwater Lake.
- Process it at Vandorn Farm.
- Carry the barrel after its final extraction to the cellar beneath the Vandorn Farm barn.
- Read the three red rooftop symbols from the Janus Towers Plaza jump-pad route.
- Enter those three shapes on the cube and finish the immediate lockdown.
The rooftop symbols are not a universal code. They are randomized for each match, so a solution copied from another game can be wrong even if the guide is otherwise accurate.

Charge the Aether Barrel at all three sites
The barrel-processing step is the prerequisite most often omitted from short puzzle explanations. The cube is in the Vandorn Farm cellar, but simply reaching it does not make the puzzle solvable. Take the Aether Barrel through the three named processing locations before attempting the symbol sequence.

Use one barrel for the full route
Do not treat the three locations as separate objectives. The intended sequence uses the same Aether Barrel, with each station adding another processing stage. The evidence for the quest does not establish a mandatory order among the sites, so focus on visiting all three and confirming the final extraction at Vandorn Farm rather than following a supposedly fixed route.
Deliver the charged barrel to the cellar
After the Vandorn Farm processing is complete, carry the charged barrel to the underground cellar beneath the Vandorn Farm barn. Place it in the strange cube. This delivery activates the cube interaction; the rooftop symbols still have to be collected separately during the jump-pad flight.
If the cube offers no meaningful interaction, check this prerequisite first. Being in the correct cellar is not enough if the barrel has not been processed at Ashwood, Blackwater Lake, and Vandorn Farm.

Find the three randomized symbols from the air
The reliable observation route begins at the jump pad in Janus Towers Plaza. Launch toward Vandorn Farm and look down while you are airborne. The height and angle provide the intended view of the three roofs that carry the code.
Record the barn, silo, and farmhouse shapes

The landmarks are close enough to confuse when viewed quickly. Identify each roof by its structure rather than trying to read all three symbols as one horizontal code. The barn, silo, and farmhouse each contribute a single shape.
Why screenshots or notes matter
All three red symbols are randomized every match. There is no fixed “correct” trio that can be memorized from a video or guide. Take a screenshot, write down a simple sketch, or use another visual record as soon as each shape is visible. A screenshot of the full flight can be useful if a symbol is partially obscured, but the live match remains the authority.

A visual solver can help you recognize possible Tower, Barn, and House shapes, but it cannot predict the symbols in your current game. Use it only to identify the shape you actually saw on the corresponding roof.

Enter the code on the cellar cube
Return to the cube after you have both placed the charged barrel and recorded the current match’s symbols. The cube has four visible faces relevant to interaction: three faces that display changeable symbols and one face with an eye.
- Interact with one of the three faces that does not show the eye.
- Cycle that face’s available symbols until it matches one of your recorded rooftop shapes.
- Repeat for the other two non-eye faces, using the barn, silo, and farmhouse notes.
- Check all three faces before submitting. Each recorded shape must appear somewhere on the three changeable faces.
- When the set is complete, interact with the eye face to submit the combination.
Face order does not matter
The walkthrough evidence indicates that the three symbols do not have to be entered in a special barn-to-silo-to-house order. The cube needs the correct set of three shapes on its non-eye faces. You can assign the barn symbol to any one of those faces, then place the other two shapes on the remaining faces.
Do not use the eye as one of the three code positions. It is the submission control, not a fourth symbol wheel. If the eye cannot be activated, inspect the three non-eye faces again and compare every shape with your notes before changing anything else.

If a face shows the wrong shape, keep cycling that face until it reaches the recorded one. Because the symbols are match-specific, a code that worked in a previous match is not evidence that your current settings are correct. Recheck the roof notes rather than guessing from a familiar-looking pattern.

Complete the lockdown after the cube opens
Opening the cube is not the end of the objective. A lockdown begins immediately in the room, and the Necrofluid Gauntlet is awarded as part of this sequence. Green orbs or blobs appear around the area as targets.
- Equip the Necrofluid Gauntlet and identify a green orb or blob.
- Fire the Gauntlet’s barb at that target.
- Use reload to recall the barb after the hit.
- Move to the next green target and repeat the shoot-then-recall cycle until the lockdown is cleared.
The recall input is essential. Shooting the barb and leaving it deployed does not complete the documented mechanic; the barb must be recalled with reload. Keep the room’s targets in view, fire only when you have a clear line to one, and reload after every successful hit so the Gauntlet is ready for the next target.
Finish the lockdown before leaving the cellar. The immediate trial is part of obtaining the weapon, not an optional bonus encounter that can be skipped after the eye opens.

Troubleshoot the puzzle by symptom
The cube is present but does not respond
Confirm that the Aether Barrel was processed at all three stations: Ashwood, Blackwater Lake, and Vandorn Farm. Then verify that the final processed barrel was physically carried to the cube in the Vandorn Farm barn cellar. The symbol-reading step cannot substitute for this delivery.

You cannot see the symbols clearly
Use the Janus Towers Plaza jump pad and look down during the flight toward Vandorn Farm. The intended view is from above, where the barn, silo, and farmhouse roofs can be distinguished. A ground-level scan can miss the red markings or make the three landmarks difficult to separate.
Your notes do not match the cube
Make sure the notes came from the current match. The three red shapes are randomized each game, so a screenshot or diagram from an earlier run is not a valid code for the next one. Re-read the live rooftops and update your record before cycling the faces further.
The eye face will not submit
Check that all three non-eye faces display the three shapes you recorded. The eye is activated only after the set is complete. Also confirm that you are interacting with the eye face itself rather than continuing to cycle one of the symbol faces.

Look for remaining green orbs or blobs around the room. For each target, fire the Gauntlet’s barb and press reload to recall it. If a target remains, repeat that complete two-part action instead of firing again without recalling the barb.
Compact run plan
For a clean attempt, prepare a note-taking method before entering the jump-pad launch. Process the barrel at Ashwood, Blackwater Lake, and Vandorn Farm, deliver it to the cellar cube, and then use the Janus Towers Plaza jump pad to inspect the three Vandorn Farm roofs. Record one shape for the barn, one for the silo, and one for the farmhouse. At the cube, set those three shapes on the non-eye faces in any order and activate the eye. Finally, clear every green target by shooting the barb and recalling it with reload.
This sequence separates the fixed parts of the quest from the variable part: the locations and interaction rules stay the same, while the three rooftop shapes must be read anew in every match.
