NBA 2K27 Season 2 launches Friday, October 16, 2026. As of October 15, it is about one calendar day away, but 2K has not published an exact launch hour or a region-by-region schedule. Season 2 adds a Level 40 free reward track, separate Pro and Hall of Fame premium passes, new GOAT Builds and returning City content.
When does NBA 2K27 Season 2 start?
Season 2 begins on Friday, October 16, 2026. The announcement available at 2026-10-15 00:10 UTC gives no exact time, so a trustworthy hours-and-minutes countdown is not possible. Players should treat the date as confirmed while watching the in-game Season menu for the live activation in their region.
Season progress is seasonal: when Season 2 ends, its progress and rewards reset. Any premium purchase therefore applies to this season’s track rather than creating permanent account-wide progression.

MyTEAM Season 2 rewards
MyTEAM players begin with the Level 1 Diamond Jason Kidd reward and finish the free progression at Level 40 with Pixel Cut Karl-Anthony Towns. The Premier Exchange also offers a way to unlock Pixel Cut Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. That exchange reward is separate from the Level 40 endpoint, so players should check the live exchange requirements once Season 2 opens.

Pro Pass vs. Hall of Fame Pass
The Hall of Fame Pass includes all Pro Pass rewards, skips 10 levels immediately and supplies a 15% XP booster for the entire season. The Pro Pass provides the premium reward track but does not include either the level skip or the booster. Prices are not stated in the season announcement, and both are separate purchases rather than part of the free track.
| Feature | Free progression | Pro Pass | Hall of Fame Pass |
|---|---|---|---|
| Access | Included seasonal path | Separate purchase; base game, internet and NBA 2K account required | Separate purchase; base game, internet and NBA 2K account required |
| Reward quantity | Levels through Level 40 | 40 additional premium levels plus four automatic rewards | Includes Pro Pass rewards and four automatic rewards |
| Progression speed | Normal XP progression | Normal XP progression | Skips 10 levels and adds a 15% XP booster for the season |
| Reset rule | Progress and rewards reset at season end | Progress and rewards reset at season end | Progress and rewards reset at season end |
Which pass fits which player?
- Choose the free track if you only want the included levels and do not need premium cosmetics, cards or faster progression.
- Choose the Pro Pass if the additional 40 premium levels and automatic rewards are the priority and you expect to play enough to earn the levels normally.
- Choose the Hall of Fame Pass if saving 10 levels and receiving the 15% XP booster has more value than progressing at the standard rate. Its advantage is speed, not a different seasonal reset rule.
GOAT Builds and other Season 2 content
Season 2 introduces GOAT Builds that can exceed the normal physical and attribute caps in the MyPLAYER Builder. Their animations and statistics are locked to preserve each featured player’s authentic style. Launch examples include Klay Thompson, Carmelo Anthony and Anthony Davis; additional GOAT Builds can be earned through REP and Lifetime Challenges.
