The Navman MiVue Smart True 4K Surround records the road ahead, the rear, and the cabin-facing side-impact zone—but it does not use external cameras mounted on the sides of the car. Navman’s Australian model, SKU AA0STR4K, combines a 4K front camera with a rear camera unit that also looks into the cabin. Its 64GB endurance card and 12V parking hardwire kit are included. The key trade-off is that “surround” describes three recording views, not a literal 360-degree exterior view.
What does “Surround” mean on this dash cam?
Navman describes the MiVue Smart True 4K Surround as a three-channel dash cam. The front camera records the road, while a two-in-one interior/rear camera unit records behind the vehicle and faces inward to capture the side-impact zone. It does not have separate external cameras mounted on the vehicle’s sides, so it cannot provide a continuous exterior view around the car.
Navman lists fields of view of 120° at the front, 170° for the interior-facing camera, and 135° at the rear. Those are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish how much usable detail each view captures in real driving.

These are specifications published by Navman Australia, not independently measured image-quality results. The product information does not provide a separate frame-rate figure for the two 1440p views, so it would be misleading to assume they match the front channel’s 30 fps.

What features does Navman list?
- Incident recording: A three-axis G-sensor detects motion or impact, and event footage is locked to help protect it from being overwritten.
- GPS and alerts: Navman says video can include GPS/GLONASS location, direction, and speed data. It also lists Smart Safety Camera Alerts and Average Speed Camera Alerts.
- Phone transfer: Wi-Fi transfer through the MiVue Pro app is listed. App functions and alerts can depend on phone compatibility, data connection, current software, and regional database support.
- Extended Recording Mode: Navman says this reduces file size by 50% to store twice as much footage. This is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee of a particular recording duration or image quality.
Navman also lists a 2.7-inch LCD. The front unit is specified at 86 × 26.5 × 54 mm and 130g; the rear camera unit is listed at 85g. These are published product specifications, not independently checked measurements.
Does parking mode need hardwiring?
For the parking features Navman describes, the included 12V Smart Parking Hardwiring Kit is the relevant power method. Navman lists motion detection across all three cameras, one-button on-demand activation, time-lapse recording, and an option to view vehicle battery voltage while parked. The package includes the kit, but Navman says it is not suitable for 24V vehicles and recommends installation by a qualified auto electrician.

The product listing does not establish that every parking-mode function will work in every vehicle or installation. Confirm suitability for your car and intended use with the installer before relying on it to record while parked.

Is the included 64GB card enough, and what cards are compatible?
Navman includes a 64GB endurance microSD card and lists storage expansion up to 256GB. It recommends endurance cards because dash cameras record intensively. The 64GB card means an additional card is not a stated requirement; a larger compatible endurance card is an optional replacement or expansion. Navman’s product information does not specify a card speed class, so check compatibility with the manufacturer before buying a particular card.

Is this a good fit for your car?
The AA0STR4K is most relevant if you want front, rear, and cabin-facing side-impact-zone recording in one system, plus the option of parking surveillance using the included hardwire kit. Its “Surround” label should not be taken to mean that external side cameras record the car’s full perimeter. If external side views are essential, verify the camera layout of any alternative before purchase.
Navman Australia lists a three-year warranty. The page’s search-result listing showed A$549 in 2026, but that price can change; check Navman or an Australian retailer for the current price. Navman also lists separate Smart True 4K and Smart True 4K DC models, which have different camera configurations and should not be treated as the Surround SKU.

Verdict
The Navman MiVue Smart True 4K Surround is a three-view system with a 4K front channel, 2.5K rear and interior-facing channels, an included 64GB endurance card, and a 12V parking hardwire kit. Its strongest practical distinction is the combination of rear and cabin-facing coverage from one rear camera unit—not a ring of exterior cameras or a literal 360-degree view. Navman publishes useful specifications and features, but they are not a substitute for independent image-quality testing.
