SpaceX’s CRS-35 Dragon spacecraft launched aboard a Falcon 9 on Oct. 13, 2026, carrying supplies, station hardware and research for the International Space Station (ISS). NASA said the spacecraft was loaded with more than 6,300 pounds of supplies; the mission also includes the final set of the station’s Roll-Out Solar Arrays and experiments in areas including brain models, heart tissue and artificial-retina manufacturing.
What is the CRS-35 mission?
CRS-35 is SpaceX’s 35th commercial resupply services mission to the ISS for NASA. Dragon is the cargo spacecraft; Falcon 9 is the rocket that carried it to orbit. NASA’s mission overview and Oct. 7 coverage advisory described a planned cargo load of more than 6,300 pounds of supplies. India Today reported the load as more than 2,800 kilograms, while its headline used “over 2,000 kg.” Those figures are presented differently, and the available sources do not establish that they count precisely the same cargo, so NASA’s stated pound figure is the clearest agency-attributed quantity.
The cargo serves three broad purposes: supporting the crew, supplying hardware for station operations and delivering investigations that use the microgravity environment. NASA’s overview says the ISS has supported research from scientists in more than 110 countries for more than 25 years, enabling more than 4,000 microgravity experiments. That is the station’s broader research history, not a count of experiments aboard CRS-35.
What did Dragon carry?
Supplies for the crew
NASA describes the cargo as supplies, but the captured agency material does not provide a detailed food inventory or specify meal types, crew counts, or how long any particular food supply will last. India Today reports food and everyday crew supplies without publishing a detailed manifest. It is therefore accurate to say the mission carried crew provisions, but not to name specific foods or quantities.

Solar arrays and station hardware
NASA’s Oct. 7 advisory identifies the final set of the ISS Roll-Out Solar Arrays among the cargo. These arrays are intended to provide additional electrical power and support station operations. They are station hardware, distinct from the crew provisions and laboratory payloads.
Science investigations
NASA highlighted investigations into artificial-retina manufacturing, 3D heart-tissue models, brain organoids and unconventional glass. NASA Science also described research on plant disease, astronaut-health assessment and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The experiments are designed to examine biological or materials processes in microgravity; their possible future applications are research aims, not demonstrated medical outcomes.

What science is going to the space station?
Artificial-retina manufacturing
LambdaVision-1 studies whether retinal layers can be manufactured in microgravity. NASA describes improved artificial-retina implants for certain retinal diseases as a potential application. The experiment is investigational: the available mission information does not establish that it will produce an approved treatment or a clinically effective implant.
3D heart-tissue models
Stellar Spheroids examines the growth and function of 3D human heart-tissue models in microgravity, including whether the environment affects the formation of vascular networks. More realistic disease models and larger-scale drug testing are possible future uses, not outcomes already demonstrated by the mission.

Brain organoids
NASA Science says the brain investigation sends small, lab-grown models of the human brain to the ISS for five weeks, where researchers will compare them with identical models kept on Earth. The aim is to study how short-duration spaceflight affects the brain at the cellular level. NASA identifies potential relevance to astronaut brain-health risks and future exploration; the experiment should not be described as a treatment study for a specific neurological disease.
Plant disease in microgravity
A plant investigation compares molecular and structural changes in plants grown on Earth and aboard the station after infection with a disease-causing fungus. Researchers are testing whether crop diseases develop differently in microgravity, a question relevant to understanding plant responses in space.

Unconventional glass
ELF-Unconventional Glass 2 studies how glass forms from nontraditional elements in microgravity. Samples are scheduled to return to Earth for analysis, so the work examines material formation rather than an already established commercial application.

When did CRS-35 launch, and when was docking planned?
NASA’s Oct. 7 advisory listed launch for 6:33 a.m. EDT on Oct. 13, 2026, and autonomous docking for about 11 a.m. EDT on Oct. 15. It planned for Dragon to remain at the ISS until mid-November. These were pre-launch schedule estimates, not confirmation of the actual launch or docking times.
India Today reported that launch occurred at 4:03 p.m. IST on Oct. 13 and expected docking at about 8:30 p.m. IST on Oct. 15. Its reported launch time is consistent with the NASA target after time-zone conversion, but the NASA pages cited here are planning and coverage materials rather than a post-launch confirmation. The captured sources also give different expected docking times and do not resolve the discrepancy. Check NASA’s current mission coverage for confirmed status rather than treating either pre-event schedule as the final outcome.
How to watch NASA’s mission coverage
NASA’s coverage advisory is the official source identified for launch and arrival coverage. Because its listed times were published before the planned launch, use NASA’s current coverage or mission updates for any live or recorded event status; the advisory alone does not confirm that a stream is active or that an event occurred at its scheduled time.
