Start with the waste stream shown on each item or bin label: keep paper, recyclables, scrap metal, bulky material and other accepted categories separate. Unload one customer at a time, sort immediately, compact only material identified as bulky, and keep the unloading lane clear. Your first upgrades should protect throughput—working compactors, enough container capacity and a layout that reduces walking—before you chase unverified profit strategies.
My Recycling Center 2 is a first-person simulation in which you unload customer waste, sort it, process or compact it, sell reusable goods and expand the yard. Steam lists more than 400 trash items, so learning a repeatable identification routine matters more than memorizing every object.
What you do in My Recycling Center 2
The game’s loop is built around a physical recycling yard rather than a menu-only management screen. Customers bring mixed loads. You unload those loads, carry individual items or groups to the correct containers, compact bulky material when appropriate, maintain machines, and sell goods that have value. Cash and customer satisfaction then fund additional containers, machines, waste types and yard space.
Steam describes it as a first-person simulation in which you “design and expand your new recycling center.” The store page lists more than 400 different trash items, including waste paper, bulky trash, recyclables and scrap metal. That variety means an item’s appearance is not a reliable substitute for the destination label: a familiar-looking object can belong to a different stream than you expect.

Learn the waste streams before moving a full load
The sequel’s complete bin map has not been published. Use the labels visible in your current yard as the authoritative rule, and treat categories from the predecessor as a learning aid rather than a guarantee that every sequel container is identical.

A Steam Community guide for the predecessor illustrates four beginner categories—residential waste, recyclables, timber and bulk trash—and shows wood going into the appropriate bin. That example is useful for understanding the idea of category separation, but it is not a confirmed map for My Recycling Center 2. When an object does not clearly match a label, place it aside briefly, inspect the available destinations and test one item before committing the entire load.
A reliable unload-and-sort routine
Use the following sequence for every customer. It minimizes re-handling and prevents a mixed pile from blocking the next vehicle.

- Unload one customer completely enough to clear the vehicle. Do not start carrying random items away while the truck still occupies the only safe unloading path. The objective is to free the customer’s vehicle and preserve a predictable work area.
- Make a small identification pile. Separate obvious paper, recyclables, scrap metal and bulky material. Keep uncertain items in a temporary group rather than guessing repeatedly.
- Read the destination label for each uncertain item. The sequel’s exact bin layout is not fully documented, so the label in your current facility outranks assumptions from the predecessor or from an item’s appearance.
- Move one stream at a time. Carry paper to its labeled container, then recyclables, then scrap metal and other streams. Working in batches reduces walking back and forth.
- Inspect furniture and electronics before processing. The game can offer second-hand resale opportunities for some items. Do not send an object to a compactor until you have checked whether selling it intact is the better available action.
- Compact only qualifying bulky material. Use the compactor or other machine when the game identifies the material as bulky. Keep non-bulky streams out of the machine unless an explicit label or task tells you otherwise.
- Clear the work area before accepting the next load. Steam warns that multiple customers can arrive at once. A clean lane and sorted containers prevent a queue from turning into a pileup.
How to identify difficult items
Furniture and electronics
Large objects are not automatically disposable. Before crushing furniture or electronics, look for the game’s resale interaction or second-hand value. The correct choice depends on the item and the options currently unlocked, so treat inspection as a standard step rather than assuming every bulky object belongs in the compactor.
Wood and timber
Wood is specifically shown going into the appropriate timber container in the predecessor guide. In the sequel, follow the label attached to your available container. If timber is listed separately, do not mix it with general bulky waste merely because both occupy physical space.

Metal parts
Scrap metal should be separated from general waste. A metal-looking component attached to a larger object may still need inspection for a resale or another category. When uncertain, isolate one example, check its destination and then process the remainder.
Items with no obvious category
Newly unlocked waste types are likely to increase the number of decisions. Keep a short mental map of the labels you have confirmed, but refresh it after purchasing containers or expanding the yard. The store page does not publish a complete item-to-bin list, so no external chart can replace the current in-game signage.
Keep customer queues from becoming your bottleneck
Throughput is the first operational problem to solve. Customers can appear at the same time, and slow unloading creates a queue. A profitable machine is irrelevant if vehicles cannot reach it or if the unloading lane is occupied by unsorted material.
- Reserve a clearly marked unloading area and do not use it as long-term storage.
- Place the most frequently used containers close to the unloading point, while leaving enough room to carry awkward items.
- Sort in batches that match container locations instead of walking to every bin after every item.
- Finish or stage one customer’s load before starting another whenever the yard is congested.
- After moving a large object, return tools and loose waste to a defined position so the next vehicle has a clear approach.
These are layout and workflow recommendations, not a guaranteed optimal build. The published material does not provide walking-time measurements, truck-route data or container capacities with which to calculate a single best arrangement.
Compactors and machine maintenance
Compactors are central to handling bulky waste, but they are not maintenance-free. Steam states that wear can cause machines to stop working properly. A failed compactor can turn a manageable load into floor storage and delay every customer behind it.

Maintenance routine
- Check machine condition before a busy unloading period.
- Process only the stream the machine is designed to accept.
- When performance degrades, repair or maintain the machine before accepting another oversized load if the game allows that action.
- Keep a temporary staging area available so a maintenance interruption does not block the unloading lane.
Do not assume that buying a second machine is always better than maintaining the first. The game’s published information does not state repair prices, downtime duration or machine throughput, so compare those values in your own save once they are visible.

Use the management tools before buying more land
Configure the yard so unloading, sorting, compaction and storage follow a short path. A larger yard with poorly placed containers can increase walking. Reorganize first, then expand when the existing footprint is genuinely limiting throughput.
XL expansion: roof and loading ramp
The XL expansion adds a large roof and a loading ramp. These features make unloading easier by providing more covered working space and a dedicated access point. Treat the ramp as a traffic tool: keep its approach clear and avoid filling the area with containers that force vehicles to maneuver around workers.

Commercial-waste delivery license
A June 2026 Steam announcement says the commercial-waste-delivery license can be obtained after the yard expansion. The announcement does not state a universal price or a detailed profitability table, so regard the license as a progression unlock and evaluate its costs and rewards from the live game’s requirements.
Wheel excavator
Another June 2026 announcement adds a wheel excavator for compacting trash in open containers. This can change how you handle large outdoor loads, but the available announcement does not publish its operating cost, capacity or throughput. Add it when open-container work is creating a measurable bottleneck, then compare the time saved with the purchase and maintenance burden shown in your game.
Resale, cash and satisfaction
Not every item should be processed as waste. Furniture and electronics may have second-hand resale value, so inspect them before crushing. The best decision is item-specific: a quick sale may be preferable to occupying a container, while another object may be worth processing through its designated stream.
Cash and satisfaction jointly drive progression. Keep customers moving, avoid avoidable machine failures and maintain a clean, legible yard. There are no published cash-per-load values, satisfaction thresholds or item price tables, so avoid guides that present a universal profit formula without a version, patch and test context.
