On a Samsung phone, “get rid of My AI” can mean three different things: unpin it, remove its thread from the Chat feed, or request deletion of data shared with it. Snapchat’s instructions describe the Android app rather than Samsung-specific menus, so use the Android paths below. Clearing the feed does not delete previously shared data.
Choose what you want to change
| Action | What changes | Deletes data previously shared with My AI? |
|---|---|---|
| Unpin | Removes My AI from its pinned placement. | No data deletion is described for this action. Snapchat Support |
| Clear from Chat Feed | Removes the conversation thread from the Chat feed. | No. Snapchat Support |
| Clear My AI Data | Requests deletion of My AI data associated with your account. | Yes; Snapchat says relevant server-side deletion can take up to 30 days. Snapchat Support |
Remove My AI from the Chat feed
To remove the thread from the feed without confusing that action with data deletion:
- From Snapchat’s Camera screen, swipe right to open Chat.
- Press and hold My AI.
- Tap Chat and Notification Settings.
- Tap Clear from Chat Feed, then confirm.
Snapchat says clearing removes the conversation thread from Chat, but does not delete data previously shared with My AI. Snapchat Support, “How do I unpin or remove My AI?”
Unpin My AI without clearing the thread
If My AI is pinned and you only want to remove that placement, open Chat, press and hold My AI, tap Chat and Notification Settings, then choose Unpin Conversation. This is separate from clearing the thread from the feed. Snapchat Support
