You can move several iPhone apps together by carrying one icon and tapping the others to add them to a stack. The stack gesture is described in an Apple Support Community post; Apple’s current guide documents ordinary app movement, page switching and folders, but not selecting multiple icons into a stack.
How to select and move several app icons together
-
Go to the iPhone Home Screen and touch and hold an app until the icons jiggle. You can also touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until editing begins, as described in Apple’s iPhone User Guide.

Keep holding the stack and drag it to the desired location. To move toward another Home Screen page, drag it to the edge of the display and pause for the next page to appear. Apple documents this edge-drag behavior for moving apps and widgets, but its guide does not specifically confirm it for a multi-app stack.
-
Release the stack at the destination. The stack-selection gesture and dropping a stack are described in the community post, rather than in Apple’s current guide.

What Apple’s documentation confirms—and what it does not
Apple’s current iPhone User Guide explains how to enter Home Screen editing, move an app or widget, and move items between pages. Apple Support also explains how to organize the Home Screen and create folders, including dragging one app onto another to make a folder and adding apps to it.

The specific gesture of holding one icon while tapping other icons to collect them into a stack is described in an Apple Support Community post, not in the official guide cited here. The same distinction applies to dropping a multi-app stack into a folder: Apple documents making folders and moving apps into them, while the combined stack-and-folder action is described by the community post rather than confirmed in Apple’s guide.

For a single app, enter Home Screen editing, drag the icon where you want it, and use the screen edge to reach another page. To create a folder using Apple’s documented method, drag one app onto another; then drag additional apps into the folder. These ordinary actions are covered in Apple Support’s Home Screen organization instructions.
