Yes—some Motorola phones, including certain 5G models, work on Verizon. Compatibility depends on the exact model and variant, so a Motorola name or 5G label alone is not enough to confirm that your handset can join Verizon’s network. Check its IMEI with Verizon before switching, and make sure a phone from another carrier is unlocked.
What determines whether a Motorola phone works on Verizon?
Verizon says a bring-your-own-device phone must be unlocked, with hardware and software compatible with its network. Its compatibility check applies to the specific device you submit, not every handset in a model family. Regional or carrier variants can differ, and supported network features vary by model.
Verizon describes its Bring Your Own Device compatibility flow as the way to check whether a device is compatible. Treat that result as the practical answer for your individual phone.

How to check your Motorola phone
- Find the IMEI. On the handset, enter
*#06#. Motorola also says Android users can look under Settings > About Phone. - Run Verizon’s device check. Enter the IMEI in the Verizon BYOD flow to check that specific device.
- Confirm the phone is unlocked. If you bought it through another carrier, ask that carrier about unlocking before attempting to use it on Verizon. Verizon requires BYOD devices to be unlocked, and Motorola says only the original carrier can unlock the phone.

These manufacturer listings show that compatibility and features differ by model. They are examples, not a guarantee for another variant or a recommendation to buy. Verify the IMEI of the handset you intend to use.

What the 5G and calling features mean
- 5G sub-6 NSA: A listed 5G support type; its presence in a model’s compatibility chart does not establish that every variant supports it.
- mmWave NSA: A separate 5G support type shown for the Verizon variant of the motorola one 5G in Motorola’s chart. Do not infer mmWave support for the other examples.
- VoLTE: Voice over LTE, listed for all three examples above.
- Wi-Fi Calling: Listed for all three examples above; the motorola one 5G chart also lists video calling.
A listed feature does not replace Verizon’s IMEI eligibility check. For the device you own, use the exact model variant and the result of that check rather than assuming that features listed for a related model apply to yours.

If Verizon says the phone is not eligible
- Check that you entered the IMEI for the phone you plan to use.
- If the phone came from another carrier, confirm its unlock status with that original carrier.
- Do not rely on a family name or a compatibility result for another variant; check the exact handset with Verizon.
