The Motorola Edge 70 Plus lasted 23 hours and 42 minutes in Notebookcheck’s Wi-Fi battery test, and its 6,500-mAh battery is the phone’s standout strength. The compromise is a less convincing all-round package: demanding apps can stretch its processor, the cameras offer limited zoom flexibility, Wi-Fi tested comparatively slowly, and the phone is not protected against immersion in water. It also lacks wireless charging.
How long does the Motorola Edge 70 Plus battery last?
Notebookcheck recorded 23 hours and 42 minutes in its Wi-Fi battery test. That is a controlled review result, not a promise of how long every owner will get: screen settings, network conditions, usage and battery age can all change endurance. Notebookcheck estimates the 6,500-mAh battery should last around two days with average use.
The review was published October 1, 2026, and says Motorola Deutschland supplied the test device. These are Notebookcheck’s findings, not independent hands-on testing for this article. Its verdict author, Florian Schmitt, wrote that “The Motorola Edge 70 Plus impresses mainly with its battery life.” Notebookcheck’s full review provides the test context.

Performance is adequate for routine use, less so under heavier workloads
The tested configuration has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Notebookcheck found ordinary operation generally smooth, but said demanding apps and multitasking can overwhelm the phone; it judged the chipset below expectations for the price. Its Geekbench 7 single-core result was 758 points, a benchmark that offers one limited comparison rather than a complete measure of everyday performance.

The cameras prioritize the main sensor over versatility
The rear setup pairs a 200-MP main camera with a 2-MP macro camera. Notebookcheck praised the main camera’s detail and low-light results, so the weakness is not that every photo is poor. It is the limited flexibility: the system lacks a useful zoom camera, and the selfie camera can overexpose very bright areas. Consider how often you use zoom or want a broader choice of rear-camera perspectives.
Water protection does not mean protection from submersion
Notebookcheck lists an IP64 rating. That is not the same as protection against immersion: its review specifically says the phone is not protected against submersion. The reviewer also noted that twisting the chassis can produce a noticeable creak, although the phone is generally well built.

Wi-Fi was comparatively slow in the review
Notebookcheck described Wi-Fi performance as comparatively slow based on measurements with a reference router. Treat that as a result from its test setup, not a guarantee of the throughput you will see on every router or network.
How does charging work?
The phone supports up to 45 W wired charging and up to 7.5 W wired reverse charging, which can supply power to another device over a cable. Notebookcheck reported a full recharge taking no more than two hours in its review. Wireless charging is not supported. These are review specifications and observations, not a guarantee that every charger will deliver the maximum rate.

What else should you weigh before buying?
Display and storage
The 6.78-inch AMOLED display was described by Notebookcheck as bright, with good color reproduction. Its everyday maximum-brightness measurement was around 1,414 cd/m²; the review also reported higher peaks in small-area HDR conditions. Those are distinct lab conditions, so the higher HDR result should not be treated as the phone’s ordinary full-screen brightness. The review specification table lists microSD expansion up to 1 TB.
Software support
Notebookcheck’s October 2026 review says Android 16 was preinstalled and Motorola promised three OS updates and five years of security patches through 2031. The tested phone had August 2026 security patches. The patch level is a snapshot from the review date; check the current update status and the manufacturer’s applicable regional support terms before buying.

Price and availability are regional and time-sensitive
At the time of Notebookcheck’s October 2026 review, the phone was noted as available in Europe and the Middle East at around US$680. A separate Notebookcheck article gave an example of around US$670 at Amazon.de. These are historical report-time figures, not current quotes or universal prices. Who is the Edge 70 Plus best suited to?
It is most compelling if long battery life matters more to you than fast wireless charging, high-end performance or camera flexibility. If you regularly run demanding apps, switch among heavy workloads, rely on zoom photography or need protection against submersion, the listed trade-offs deserve more weight than the battery result. Compare phones using like-for-like endurance tests, regional prices and support terms rather than battery capacity alone.
