The Motorola Edge 70 Max and iQOO 15R share a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform, but their specifications point to different priorities. The Edge 70 Max offers a larger, sharper, higher-refresh-rate display and magnetic wireless charging; the iQOO 15R lists a larger typical battery, faster rated wired charging and a 512GB storage option. Neither is a proven overall performance or camera winner without comparable testing.

Which phone has the better display?
The Edge 70 Max is the paper choice for a larger, more detailed screen: Motorola lists a 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel with up to a 144Hz refresh rate. The iQOO 15R’s 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display is smaller and has a lower listed resolution, with a 130Hz refresh rate in normal scenes.

iQOO also lists 360Hz gaming touch sampling. That describes how often the screen samples touch input in the stated gaming context; it is not a 360Hz refresh rate. Motorola’s announcement advertises peak brightness of 7000 nits, but that is a manufacturer-stated peak figure, not a directly comparable brightness test. Battery and charging: capacity is not endurance
iQOO lists a 7,600mAh typical battery and 100W charging, while Motorola lists 7,100mAh, 90W wired charging and 25W Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. That makes the iQOO the higher-capacity and faster-rated wired option on paper; Motorola is the one with listed magnetic wireless charging.
Those figures do not establish which phone lasts longer or charges faster in everyday conditions. Battery life depends on usage and settings, and no comparable endurance or charging test is available here.

Performance and cooling
Both phones list the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, so the chipset alone does not establish a speed advantage for either. Comparable benchmark results, sustained gaming tests and thermal measurements would be needed to judge real-world differences.
Motorola says the Edge 70 Max uses a vapor chamber with liquid metal and a 5500mm vapor chamber to manage heat during demanding use. That is the manufacturer’s description, not independent evidence that it runs cooler than the iQOO 15R.

Storage, software and support
Storage choices
The iQOO 15R has a listed 12GB/512GB configuration, while Motorola’s India page lists 256GB storage with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. If you keep large games, video or offline files on your phone, the iQOO’s extra listed capacity may matter more than the display difference.
Update commitments
Motorola’s India listing states Android 16, up to three years of OS upgrades and up to five years of security patches. iQOO’s official specifications page lists Origin OS 6.0 but does not state an update duration. A 91mobiles comparison published on 17 July 2026 reports four years of OS updates and six years of security updates for iQOO; treat that duration as secondary-source reporting rather than an official commitment, and confirm it with iQOO before relying on it.

Camera hardware: what the specifications do and do not show
The 91mobiles comparison lists the Motorola rear cameras as a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP sensor. It lists the iQOO rear system as a 50MP Sony LYT-700V main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide; iQOO’s official specifications also list a 32MP front camera.
These are hardware listings, not evidence that one phone takes better photos or video. The available information does not provide a controlled, comparable camera-quality test.

Which powerhouse is right for you?
- Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Max if you want the larger, higher-resolution display, up to 144Hz refresh rate, Qi2 magnetic wireless charging or Motorola’s stated update schedule.
- Choose the iQOO 15R if you value its larger listed typical battery, 100W rated charging, smaller display or 512GB storage configuration.
- Compare them in person if one-handed comfort, dimensions or weight are decisive. Those measurements are not established in the specifications summarized here.
