The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion has the clearer published feature set, but the apparent price advantage of the POCO M8x 5G is not enough to make a reliable winner: its listed specifications and even its exact identity need confirmation. In India, the pages consulted showed ₹30,999 for Motorola and ₹19,099 for POCO—an indicative ₹11,900 gap, not a verified like-for-like deal. Check the regional model and seller listing before comparing or buying.
First, confirm the exact regional models
This comparison is unusually sensitive to model identity. Motorola publishes conflicting Edge 70 Fusion specifications across its own regional materials, while POCO M8x 5G details in secondary sources are not consistently corroborated.
Motorola’s global announcement describes an Edge 70 Fusion with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and a 5,200mAh battery, and says availability and pricing vary by market. Motorola Support’s specifications page lists a different configuration: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and a 7,000mAh battery. Motorola Support also cautions that “Certain specifications may vary by market”. Do not combine these sets into a single assumed India model; confirm the specification for the exact variant being sold.
The POCO issue is at least as important. Xiaomi Community’s August 31, 2026 software-update post uses the name “POCO M8x 5G (steppe),” but does not establish consumer specifications, official Indian sales or price. 91mobiles supplies a specification listing for the M8x 5G, while a separate Gadgets 360 comparison appears to substitute the POCO M8 5G, a different named model with different reported specifications. Treat an M8 5G listing as no evidence for the M8x 5G.

Specs comparison: what is actually published?
The table separates Motorola’s official support-page configuration from the global announcement and secondary POCO claims. These are not confirmed, region-matched retail variants.

Where the published specifications point
Performance
The Motorola sources name two different Snapdragon generations, so even its processor comparison depends on the regional variant. The POCO processor claim is secondary-source information. Without a verified exact-market POCO listing and confirmed Motorola variant, these names do not support a dependable performance ranking or a claim about real-world speed.
Display
Motorola’s support-listed version offers a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel at 2,772 × 1,272 and up to 144Hz. The 91mobiles POCO listing describes a larger 6.9-inch LCD, but does not provide a resolution or refresh rate in the cited information. The Motorola listing is more specific and identifies AMOLED rather than LCD; the POCO panel’s size alone does not establish that it is better for viewing.

Motorola Support lists a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide and a 32MP front camera. The 91mobiles listing gives a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera for the POCO, without establishing the rear-camera arrangement in the cited details. Megapixel counts do not establish image quality, and the POCO configuration remains unverified against an official or exact retailer listing.
Battery, charging and software
Motorola Support lists a 7,000mAh battery, 68W TurboPower and Android 16 for its version; Motorola’s global announcement instead gives 5,200mAh. Confirm which battery specification applies to the India unit. The cited POCO M8x 5G listing does not establish battery capacity, charging speed or operating system, so those are open questions rather than points to infer from another POCO model.

Motorola India’s shopping page displayed ₹30,999 for Edge 70 Fusion when accessed. 91mobiles displayed ₹19,099 for POCO M8x 5G via Amazon. The arithmetic difference is ₹11,900, but these figures came from unlike source types and may reflect different variants, discounts, availability or update times. They are not a verified live, like-for-like price comparison. Check the final price, exact model and seller at checkout.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Edge 70 Fusion if
- The exact India variant is confirmed and you want the more fully documented display and camera configuration listed by Motorola Support.
- The retailer confirms which processor and battery version is on offer, rather than leaving the discrepancy between Motorola’s global and support pages unresolved.
Consider the POCO M8x 5G if
- The listing explicitly identifies the phone as M8x 5G, not M8 5G, and the seller or manufacturer confirms its specifications for India.
- Its current checkout price is meaningfully lower and the verified memory, battery, display and camera details suit your needs.
On the available evidence, Motorola has the more detailed published specification set, while the POCO’s lower displayed price is only a preliminary signal. Neither point establishes a definitive overall winner until the exact regional variants are verified.
