The Motorola Edge 50 Pro 5G stands out for its 144Hz display and unusually fast wired charging; the newer Samsung Galaxy A56 5G starts with a later launch platform and a longer software-support term reported by the comparison source. Which is the better buy depends on whether those differences matter more than current availability and price. The price figures below are India-oriented listings, not verified live offers.
At a glance: the main differences

Specifications and listed prices are from 91mobiles’ comparison page, which was crawled about three weeks before October 7, 2026. Motorola’s display details are also published on its official India product page. The retailer and stock fields may have changed; check the exact configuration and current offer before buying.
Which display is the better fit?
Motorola: a confirmed 144Hz pOLED panel
Motorola’s India page specifies a 6.7-inch 1.5K pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh-rate specification is relevant if you value smoother scrolling and motion in supported content. It does not, on its own, establish that the screen has better color, brightness, or overall image quality.
Samsung: the same listed size, different panel label
91mobiles lists the A56 with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The available product details establish the diagonal and panel type, but the evidence here does not provide a matched refresh-rate or display-quality comparison. Choose based on the features you can confirm for the specific regional model rather than assuming that panel names alone settle the result.

Performance: compare the platforms, not just the names
The comparison lists Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the Edge 50 Pro and Samsung’s Exynos 1580 in the A56. Those are different chipsets, but no comparable controlled performance results are established here. The chip names alone are not enough to predict which phone will feel faster in your apps, gaming sessions, or multitasking.
The A56 launched later, on March 2, 2025, while the Edge 50 Pro’s listed launch date is April 9, 2024. That makes the Samsung the newer phone in this pairing, but age does not substitute for a direct performance test or a check of current software and app support.
Charging and battery: Motorola’s specifications are clearer
Motorola specifies a 4500mAh battery, 125W wired charging, up to 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless power sharing for the Edge 50 Pro on its India product page. It says the 125W charger is included with the 12GB+256GB variant, so check the exact package if considering another configuration.

The available evidence does not establish the Galaxy A56’s battery capacity or charging specifications from an official Samsung source, so a complete specification-for-specification charging comparison is not possible here. 91mobiles displays battery-test results of 12 hours 30 minutes for Motorola and 10 hours 04 minutes for Samsung, but the test conditions are not established in the retrieved comparison details. Treat those figures as that publisher’s results, not a guarantee of everyday battery life.
Cameras: headline megapixels do not decide image quality
91mobiles lists a 50MP main camera for each phone, a 50MP front camera for Motorola, and a 12MP front camera for Samsung. These resolution figures describe sensor output, not photo quality. The evidence available here does not support a reliable verdict on detail, low-light results, color, video, or consistency between the cameras.
If camera performance is decisive, look for sample photos and video from the exact regional models and compare results in the conditions you care about. Do not treat a higher megapixel count as proof that one phone takes better pictures.

Software support: the reported advantage favors Samsung
91mobiles’ comparison lists Android 14 for the Edge 50 Pro and Android 15 for the A56, along with three years of OS updates and four years of security updates for Motorola versus six years of each for Samsung. These are comparison-page figures, not a current guarantee for every market or variant. Verify the manufacturer’s support terms for the model sold in your country before treating the durations as definitive.
If the listed durations apply to the phones you are considering, the A56 offers the longer stated support window. That can matter if you plan to keep a phone for several years; the launch Android versions are comparison-time fields and can change with subsequent updates.
Price and availability: the listed gap may not be a real buying choice
On the 91mobiles page, the Edge 50 Pro is listed at ₹27,999 but marked out of stock, while the Galaxy A56 is listed at ₹34,999 at Amazon. These are India-oriented page entries, not confirmed checkout prices or equally available offers. Because one phone is marked out of stock, the listed difference should not be treated as a dependable saving.
- Check current stock and the seller before comparing prices.
- Match RAM and storage configurations; the Motorola charger-in-box detail cited above applies specifically to its 12GB+256GB variant.
- Compare final checkout prices after any offers, and confirm the regional model and included accessories.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Edge 50 Pro if
- You specifically want the officially stated 144Hz 1.5K pOLED display.
- Fast charging matters and the 125W wired, up-to-50W wireless specifications suit your needs.
- You can find the configuration you want in stock at a current price that makes sense.
Choose the Galaxy A56 if
- You prefer the newer launch in this comparison and its listed Android 15 starting point.
- The reported six-year OS and security support terms are confirmed for your regional model and are a priority.
- Its current price and availability are more practical than the Motorola listing you can actually buy.
Neither is a universal winner on the evidence available. Treat the Motorola’s charging and display specifications as its clearest differentiators, and Samsung’s later launch and longer support term as the stronger reasons to favor the A56. Before purchase, validate live price, stock, exact configuration, and local support terms.
