The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is the better fit if you value a faster 144Hz screen, quicker 68W charging and a lighter, narrower phone. The CMF Phone 2 Pro is the stronger choice if you want a dedicated 2x optical-zoom camera, expandable storage and a stated multi-year software-support commitment. Both cited configurations have 5,000mAh batteries, so capacity alone does not settle battery life.

Which phone has the better display?

The Motorola has the higher listed refresh rate: 144Hz versus the CMF’s adaptive 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported scrolling and animations appear smoother, but it does not by itself establish better image quality or battery life.

The CMF screen is marginally larger at 6.77 inches, compared with 6.7 inches on the Motorola. Its manufacturer-listed peak brightness is also higher, but the peak, outdoor and typical figures are not directly comparable with Motorola’s peak figure unless both manufacturers use the same measurement conditions. Treat them as specifications, not proof of which screen looks brighter in every situation.

Which camera setup makes more sense?

Choose CMF for dedicated optical zoom

The CMF Phone 2 Pro has a separate 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, in addition to its main and ultrawide cameras. Optical zoom uses a dedicated lens rather than relying only on cropping the main camera image. That makes the CMF the more versatile pick on camera hardware if you often frame distant subjects or want a portrait perspective beyond the main camera.

Choose Motorola if main-camera stabilization matters

The cited comparison lists the Edge 50 Fusion with a 50MP main camera featuring optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 13MP ultrawide. OIS is a hardware feature that can help counter hand movement, particularly in still photography. It does not establish that the Motorola takes better photos overall: sensor processing, lighting and software also matter.

No controlled head-to-head camera test is established by these specifications. Tom’s Guide reviewed the CMF separately, but its observations are not a direct comparison with the Motorola: Tom’s Guide CMF Phone 2 Pro review.

Which one charges faster, and what do the battery figures mean?

Motorola specifies 68W charging for its cited Edge 50 Fusion configuration, while Nothing specifies 33W wired charging for the CMF Phone 2 Pro. On paper, the Motorola supports substantially faster wired charging. Actual charging time can depend on the charger, cable, temperature and battery level; the wattage figures alone do not establish a specific time to full.

Motorola Moto Edge 50 Fusion 5G (XT2429-1) Dual Sim | GSM Unlocked | 6.7" P-OLED 120Hz Display | 8GB Ram 256GB Storage - International Version - (Pink)
  • Expansive Display: 6.7 inches P-OLED, 1B colors, 120Hz

  • Storage and RAM: 8GB of RAM Memory and 256GB Internal Storage
  • Dual SIM Capability: This unlocked smartphone supports dual SIM cards, allowing you to conveniently manage personal and work lines.

Both phones have a nominal 5,000mAh battery. Motorola claims over 30 hours of battery life, while Nothing claims up to 22 hours of YouTube playback. Those are different manufacturer claims using different methods, so they are not an equal-condition battery comparison. Tom’s Guide measured 15 hours 24 minutes for the CMF in its own dynamic-refresh battery benchmark; that is a publication test result, not a Motorola-versus-CMF result. Tom’s Guide’s test and review.

Which is easier to hold, and does storage matter?

The cited Motorola model is 4.9mm narrower and 10.1g lighter than the CMF: 73.1mm wide and 174.9g versus 78mm and 185g. Those differences may make the Edge 50 Fusion easier to grip or use one-handed, although comfort depends on hand size and preference. The CMF is slightly thinner according to the listed dimensions.

CMF’s expandable storage is a practical advantage if you keep a large offline photo, video or music library: Nothing says it supports expansion up to 2TB. Its listed internal-storage choices are 128GB and 256GB. The cited Motorola India configuration has 256GB internal storage; the Motorola page does not state expandable-storage support. Do not assume that a specification for one regional version applies to every market.

What software support and durability are stated?

Nothing states that the CMF Phone 2 Pro receives three years of Android updates and six years of security patches, with the six-year period starting when the device first became available on Nothing.tech. Its Europe page lists Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.2. The cited Motorola India page lists Android 14 but does not state an equivalent update or security-patch duration, so the available figures do not establish a like-for-like support comparison.

Nothing’s Europe product page lists IP54 for the CMF. The cited official Motorola page does not establish a water-resistance rating for the Edge 50 Fusion intended for a particular market. A third-party comparison lists IP68 for Motorola, but that is not enough to confirm the rating for every regional model; check official documentation for the exact SKU before relying on a resistance claim.

What is the price difference?

There is no reliable universal price difference without a country, current local listings and matching storage configurations. Nothing’s Europe product page displays starting prices of €249 and €279 beside CMF configurations. Those are European page prices, not a current same-country comparison with the Motorola, and they do not establish what either phone costs in another market. Check local sellers for the exact Edge 50 Fusion and CMF storage variants you are considering before deciding which is better value.

Which should you buy?

Pick Motorola Edge 50 Fusion if

  • You prioritize the higher listed 144Hz refresh rate.
  • You want faster specified wired charging and a lighter, narrower phone.
  • You value OIS on the main camera more than having a dedicated optical-zoom camera.

Pick CMF Phone 2 Pro if

  • You want a 2x optical-zoom telephoto camera as part of a three-camera rear setup.
  • You need expandable storage, with support listed up to 2TB.
  • You want the explicit update and security-support commitment stated by Nothing.
  • You prefer a slightly larger display and do not mind the wider, heavier body.

Before ordering either phone, confirm the local model’s memory and storage configuration, current price, carrier-band and VoLTE compatibility, and any durability rating you consider essential. The cited Motorola specifications are for India, while the CMF product details and prices cited here are from Nothing’s Europe page.
