A 91mobiles search-indexed price snapshot shows ₹17,835 for the Moto and ₹36,998 for the Redmi, but those figures are volatile listing references, not guaranteed current prices or confirmed matching configurations.

At a glance: the documented configurations

The table compares what each manufacturer page lists, not necessarily the exact versions sold in the same country. Motorola cautions that some specifications vary by market; Xiaomi also notes that real measurements and availability can vary.

Which phone has the bigger battery and faster charging?

Xiaomi lists a 9,000 mAh typical silicon-carbon battery and 67 W charging for the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, alongside 22.5 W wired reverse charging. Motorola lists a 6,720 mAh battery and 30 W TurboPower charging for the Moto G86 Power. Those are manufacturer specifications, not results from a controlled battery-life or charging test, so they do not establish real-world screen time or charging duration.

Which one should you choose for performance?

The manufacturer pages identify the Moto’s chipset as MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and the Redmi’s as Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. The available specifications do not establish a fair, repeatable head-to-head performance result. Chip names alone are not enough to call a winner for gaming, multitasking or everyday speed; no controlled comparison is established here.

What do the camera specifications show?

Xiaomi lists a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 16 MP front camera for its India configuration. The cited Motorola support page does not state the Moto’s camera specifications, so these sources do not support a complete camera-spec comparison or a conclusion about which phone takes better photos.

How do storage and regional versions affect value?

The cited Motorola US support configuration lists 512 GB of internal storage and 8 GB of physical RAM; its RAM Boost feature is listed separately. Xiaomi India lists the Redmi in 128 GB and 256 GB storage variants, without a RAM configuration stated on the cited page. These are different regional references, so confirm the exact local SKU and its price before using storage capacity to judge value. Motorola explicitly says certain specifications may vary by market.

What about durability and what comes in the box?

Motorola lists IP68/IP69 protection, MIL-STD 810H and Gorilla Glass 7i for the cited Moto configuration. Xiaomi’s cited specification page does not establish a comparable durability rating. Xiaomi India lists an adapter, USB Type-C cable, SIM eject tool, protective case and quick start guide in the Redmi package, while warning that contents may differ by market or sales region. The cited Motorola page does not establish its box contents, so no like-for-like included-accessory comparison is supported.

Which phone makes more sense for your priorities?

  • Consider the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G if the Xiaomi India specification’s larger display, higher listed battery capacity, faster rated charging, reverse charging or stated camera setup matters most—and the price of the exact local configuration works for you.
  • Consider the Moto G86 Power if the locally available version matches the cited 512 GB storage configuration, or if its listed durability features are a priority. Check your market’s actual specifications rather than assuming the US support-page configuration applies everywhere.
  • Do not decide from the indexed price gap alone. Verify current seller, storage variant and price for both phones in the same market, then compare like with like.
